I owned a 1986 with 1.4 and 4-speed manual transmission. The handling and ride was excellent by econobox standards then or now, the drivetrain was good enough, but the clutch pedal with its dodgy self-adjuster ratchet is what I most remember today. "Sproinggg!! Oh Shit!.."

@heyther3456 ha, ha. I remember the exact same thing on my 87. Scared the hell out of me the first time, I thought I broke the clutch pedal.
