Gary Glitter, David Bowie and others of the same genre back in the late 60's, early 70's had their "heyday" as Glam Rockers. Bands like Ratt, Poison, Van Halen, etc... were considered "Hair Bands" back in the 80's. Nothing really to do with "Glam", as it was in the 70's. Some of you posters are confused, and need to study your history of rock. sorry.

Who said I liked Glam? I do like this movie though as it's a nice little time capsule of that era and genre of metal. This is bullshit, I hated it back in the day (the documentary) and I still do, it's supposed to be about Metal yet they mostly show glam bands!!! or otherwise, only one sub-genre of metal which is Heavy Metal (primarily the NWOBH) and that's it!
Also mostly American and English bands when back then there were already bands from other countries that were well known.

Who said I liked Glam? I do like this movie though as it's a nice little time capsule of that era and genre of metal. I like mostly Thrash and Power metal (stuff like Motorhead, Exodus, 3 Inches of Blood, Iron Maiden, Overkill, ZnoWhite, Artilley, Dio, Manowar, Iced Earth, ect), . I find Death/Black metal is too samey and unintelligible. I'm not dissing Dream Theater, but I just never got into them. Part of the charm of metal is it's "mindless sex and violence". That's sorta the point.
