  • Majic ....Always with a smile

  • Bird had better stats and isn't the reason kobe came to the nba.

  • broomeblocker they wouldnt destroy the nba know because remember when bird retired then after that both got invited to the usa open and bird can barley practice: )soooo.

  • song???

  • @the brainmachine78, Jordan had Pippen and Magic had Kareem (the highest scorer ever) AND James Worthy (a hall of famer), sooooo you clearly dont know wat the fuck ur talking about ur just a hater little bitch. @everyone else im not taking anything away from Magic he is one of the best ever i just had 2 make a quick point 2 a dumb bitch.

  • @bronzeweavil lol they're basketball players bro relax, not geniuses. einstein was a genuis. dont toss that word around so carelessly. yes they had very high basketball IQ but cmon "GENUISES"?

  • @tsrhett and dirk

  • im actually better than both Bird and Magic..... ill be on the scene next season. Everyone will know about Chi Chi Rodriquez. I will be the greatest basketball that has ever lived. Balee dat. I sign with the Knicks next week. Get me on the court and im trouble.

  • @WanderleiSilva29 I already know who Chi Chi Rodriguez is, he's a professional golfer. And you will never play in the NBA.

  • magic would not be avg.... too many skills on a legit 6*9 frame,

  • Comment removed

  • Both are better than Michael Jordan.

  • @thenintendogamer

LOL, on what basis are you making that absurd claim?

Scoring, defense, athleticism, willpower, heart, determination. All of these attributes, Jordan has more than both. Not to mention his 6 rings. What a ridiculous comment.

  • @2pacinseattle Where do you get THAT from? Jordan could not win in an era when Bird and Magic were in their prime, Jordan only beat Magic when he was on his way out in '91. He would not have won 6 rings in the 80s, and Magic won 5, 1 in his rookie season and Bird in his second year. MJ didn't even have a winning season until the late 80s. Magic stepping up to center when Kareem was out is the essence of heart, willpower and determination, and Bird could outthink anybody.

  • @thenintendogamer

Bullshit, Magic Johnson always had fantastic teammates . He couldn't carry the Lakers like Jordan carried the Bulls. Like I said before, speed, determination, heart, agility, scoring, defense, rebounding, steals, blocks, athleticism, endurance, longevity, clutch. Jordan > Magic.

    P.S.

Why was Magic "on his way out" at 32?

Jordan put up better stats than Magic ever did and was winning rings at ages greater than that.

  • @2pacinseattle Jordan had 3 other hall of famers on his team, so I don't know how he alone was carrying the Bulls. Guys like Pippen, Rodman, Grant and coach Phil Jackson and his triangle offense greatly helped Jordan in his quest, and he would not have won either as many or any titles without them. Magic got HIV at age 32 and when you go againtst Bird, he's gonna take a few titles away. Jordan would not have gotten past Magic in the 80s, and never did past Bird.

  • @thenintendogamer

So what, Pippen was the only ever present hall of famer on his team, Jordan won titles before Rodman came, and he won titles after Grant left. So basically, he won titles with only 1 other hall of famer. Your theory is flawed. How many hall of famers did Magic have on his team throughout his career? hmmmmmmm?????

    P.S.

Jordan never got past Bird as he was a one man team. Put Magic on the Bulls team from the 80's and they would never even make the playoffs.

  • @2pacinseattle Oh, and did I mention he won without Kareem, Worthy or Riley in the '80 finals and played as a center and scored 42 points and as a rookie againtst legend Dr. J?

  • @thenintendogamer

Did I mention Jordan dropped 63 points against Larry Bird?

Lol, Magic Johnson won ONE! game without Kareem and you're acting like he played the whole post season without him. It's ONE GAME!, I'm pretty sure the Bulls won games when Pippen and Rodman didn't play.

You do realize Magic and Bird themselves have conceded Jordan is the Greatest. There is no arguement, look at the stats and rings. Also, besides passing, Jordan is better at everything else in the game of basketball

  • @2pacinseattle That was the freaking championship game, game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals. Sure Jordan scored 63 but he still lost the game and got swept by the Celtics. Once again, Jordan would not have won as many rings if he had the same team in the 80s. Jordan is overrated. The 80s were a much rougher period in Basketball than the 90s.

  • @thenintendogamer

The team Jordan had in the 80's was way worse than any Lakers side Magic ever played on. Are you trying to tell me Magic Johnson would have won rings with the Bulls of the 80's as his teammates? I'd love to see Magic or Bird play through a game with the flu. You realize both Magic and Bird have conceded that Jordan is the best ever? By far, they said there is no comparison. So the debates over. Tell me what Magic can do better than Jordan besides pass.

  • @2pacinseattle

id like to see jordan play with no support from his bak and still score 20 a game like bird did

im sry if ur sayin mj is betta because of stats, rings, etc then ur pretty ignorant

  • @2pacinseattle The 80's Lakers and Celtics were well past their peaks when Jordan conveniently started winning titles. Michael Jordan, in 5 seasons without Scottie Pippen NEVER made it out of the first round and missed the playoffs twice. His playoff record without Pippen, a disastrous 1-9. What was MJ carrying again? Btw, Magic was the better rebounder of the two and shot a better FG%, and FT%, to go with more assists. LOL @ MJ having more heart. Dude retired twice in his prime.

  • @2pacinseattle you bring up rings a lot russel wins then. and bird was smarter then mj look at the plays he made that involved other people.

  • I found my new hero...Larry Bird!

  • always the two best players on the court-especially,most importantly-from the neck up....

  • How did you get footage of the 1979 draft??

The first televised nba draft was in 1984 LOL Amazing

  • 2 of the best player to ever live.

  • ha larry is the opposite of kobe in teamwork. he actully passes.

  • @IKBEASTLX

lol yeah bird and magic are like the antikobes =)

and kobe is like jordan before he learned to play for his team and became the greatest of all time

  • Very nice vid ! The sound mixing is awesome ! What's the name of the track starting at 1:15 ?

  • All I can say is they're both good. LeBron cant be the rival of Kobe infact no one could. Kobe is the legend these day. These guys are and always be, Jordan, Magic, Bryant and Bird.

  • @littlefingers27 Don't forget the top little man of that generation ISIAH THOMAS

  • What was the record between Celtics and Lakers at this time?

  • @gtsudu Both rookies in 1980, Magic's Lakers won the title in '80, Bird's Celtics in '81, Lakers in'82, Celtics in '84, Lakers in '85, Celtics in '86, Lakers in '87 and '88. They squared off in the finals in '84, '85, and '87, so in Finals match-ups it was Lakers 2, Celtics 1. The two teams were so dominant. From '80 to '88 the Lakers won the West 7 out of 9 years, from '81 to '87 the Celtics won the East 5 out of 7 years. Bird vs Magic, the NBA has NEVER been better, it's not close now.

  • yea but kobe and lebron are not rivals

  • Great to hear Chick Hearns voice again...Oh how I miss him. Damn I hated the Celtics growing up and I still do...But Larry won me over ( My favorite Non Laker of all time ) Larry was so clutch, I swear he made a pact with the Devil ha ha JK.

  • 1:10

    yeah baby :D

    Magic Greatest of all time

  • True, but not better than Bird.

  • These 2 Players made each other better, made each other work harder, play harder which made the NBA better.

  • LIKE kobe and lebron

  • Except for making the game better. The Popularity of the NBA as far TV Ratings & perhaps Attendance are down from the 1980's.

  • with all the methods of watching games (internet, personal devices tvr bars, etc) tv ratings are very flawed in terms of telling whos watching nba games live

  • Just going by the facts. The NBA is just not as important to Americans as it was 20-25 years ago. Back then you had the Game of the Week on CBS with Dick Stocton & Tom Heinson & then maybe 2 games a week on TBS & your Local Market Game. Plus the Teams aren't as good, back then the Top Teams would have 2-3 HF playing for them, Lakers & Celtics perfect example but also the 76ers, Pistons & even the Bucks. Now your to see 1 Team with a Potential HF. The Marquee Matchups just aren't the same.

  • nice Shorts :-)

  • Bird was so great, best SF ever.

  • This is exactly what the NBA needs right now.

  • + Dwaine Wade, Kevin Garnet and Steve Nash!

  • Now this is The Real Basketball Rivalries unlike Kobe Vs Lebron.. but Bird Vs Magic is the real basketball Rivalries

  • Yes, because even though they had amazing personal records, they always met in the nba finals.

  • Larry Bird FTW!

  • whoever gave you a thumbs down obviously didn't understand FTW meant for the win...

  • Larry Bird and Magic Johnson my 2 favorite players of all time.....there would be no jordan, kobe, lebron etc. without these 2 ..... pure heart and love for the game and so humble.

  • 2 of the best players ever to play the game they played for the love of the game not the money like everyone does now ima change that tho wen i get to the nba ima be the greatest only 15 and i am playin startin varsity and i am barely goin to be a freshmen......

  • you think Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were bragging about being varsity? You have alot to learn youngin'.

  • who cares about the pinhead who does not like the NBA?. It is only a reflection of the real world. Good, bad, and ugly. I guess this pinhead lives a pristine life we can all emulate.

  • song, melody instrumental starting at 1:15 what is it !!

  • X-ZIBIT - Paparazzi.

  • When they retired, so did my interest in the NBA and the shithole it has become.

  • Two true Champions before Steroids and Egos ruled professional sports. Great to watch!!

  • Larry is one of the best players to ever play the game in my generation. I've learned most my early moves from Larry Bird.

  • Comment removed

  • Despite not being overly athletic, Bird was deadly on the court. For a man his height, his jumper was right on.

I hated when he came to town because he was ALWAYS making shots and defeating my team. Great player.

  • WHAT'S THE SONG FROM 0:25 to 1:10 ??? PLEASE IT'S SOOOOO AWESOME!

    Same,too。Plizzzz

  • i love teh celtics i wish baksetballw as gud like baq tehn my fave player now a dayz is rajon rando snice hes doing ud dis eyar last game he got 25 points 8 rebounds n 9 assists

  • stay in school, fool

  • A true C's fan need not know proper English to read the awesomeness that is the Boston Celtics.

  • Magic would be average? Amazing how many people know nothing about basketball.

  • @mjb76 magic was known for is insanely nice passes

  • @mjb76 Then how come Bird practically copied his ability to make no look passes from THIS AVERAGE PLAYER #32

  • Real sports fans could give a damn what players do in their private lives. All that baby-mama drama they show in the news is for the bitches&groupies.

  • your a fucken retard, go climb in your plastic coffin...magic an average player hahhhh funny fool...........magic goes down with bird and jordan as the best that ever lived period....kobe and lebron are working their way to that realm, but far from it yet, you have to pull out more MVPS and championships............and dont be fooled about eras, the greats are great in ANY era...do not compare, just accept

  • Yeah, Larry Bird and Magic would destroy the NBA today, people were better back then, more athletic, better defenders, just look at the dream team if ya need proof. When Larry, Magic, Jordan and co played, other teams thought they had a good game if they only lost by 40 points. Your current dream teams struggle to win.

  • @BroomeBlocker3 i don't be trolling, but how can you say that? your basing that off nothing, i love the legends of the game as much as anyone but your basing that off what?

i think that todays nba would be more athletic, like lebron and kevin durant 6,9 and fast as hell incredible vertical leap, dwight howard too.....

  • @BroomeBlocker3 The dream team isn't proof. It just so happened that there were a lot of very good individuals in that point in time. The league overall is so much more athletic now. Lebron and Kobe (in his prime) could more than hold their own physically. Dwight Howard would have easily held is own against the likes of Robinson and Hakeem. Derrick Rose would woosh past Larry like he wasn't even there.

  • I am a huge Celtic's fan. I respect Magic just as much as anyone who wore Celtic Green. Magic and Bird represent what the NBA should be.

  • i was a celtic hater, but could not deny the fact of birds greatness, what vision, what a shot, and what a killer assassin heart!

  • since Bird and Magic left the game, the NBA has stood for "Nothing But Assholes". the league has no class whatsoever, and absolutely no players who represent America the way these two geniuses did. Bird represented the America that simply has to work it's ass off to succeed; Magic represented the America that has that special charm and charizma and knows how to use it to the benefit of all those around them. Man, I miss watching them square off on TV.

  • I used to wait in line for 2 days for Celtics tickets. Loved when LA came to town. They always put on a great show.

  • WHAT'S THE SONG FROM 0:25 to 1:10 ??? PLEASE IT'S SOOOOO AWESOME!

  • fantasy!

  • this is a really nice collab and you did a great job man.

this is a little more edgy and showy than the one i just watched before, but it's cool, and eclectic and i love the quotes you threw together.

    thanks again.

    ~ ryan

  • Magic can play all positions. His 6'9 but plays mostly the point guard for his team. I think that what made him a little bit better than Larry Bird

  • what beats is this in the beggining

  • These two, could flat out play! No if, and, or but, about it!

  • i cant stand the lakers but magic is one of my favorites hes is one of the greatest

  • both of them had arguably the best supporting casts of any of the basketball greats.

Those two teams in the 80's... we'll never see somthing like that again im afraid

  • bird flys on

  • i saw bird play rockets in the eighties...in person. i am black american. to all the blacks who say bird cant run jump slow whatever..ALL FALSE. i saw him play and everytime he touch the ball, the crowd heaved..electric...and his reflexes were as good as any...jump? i saw bird jump across the lane going right and shoot with left ...three rockets trying to block..made the shot...DONT EVER SAY bird is slow or cant jump, cause if you saw him in person at a game you know its not true.

  • i like them both. they the best

  • basketball back then was different

  • What is the name of the song from 0:25 to 1:10? Kick ass beat!

  • Bird and Magic had the greatest rivalry, Jordan, had no one and by the time Kobe had come, he was too old to establish a rivalry. Kobe has no one now, maybe the wade/anthony/james trio can be something

  • if only jordan had a rivalry i think that would of put him way ahead of bird and magic...im not dissing jordan love all three...i also think the championships could go either way bird could of had 4 and split with magic if it wasnt for that hookshot with 5 sec left...either way the greatest decade for basketball

  • They were equally skillful in the positions they played. No use in comparing them , they acknowledge each other as friends and fellow basketball legends , not rivals.

  • damn i miss both........bird and magic

  • indeed and so does the nba

  • Aceroy he wasen't the greatest shooter ever?...i mean top 5 but not ever.

  • More like top 3 , The only person I could EVER compare to him would be Chamberlain, he WAS the #1 buzzer beater though.

  • Two of the greatest, they revived hoops in the 80's....8 titles between them, both first team Hall of Famers....

  • Bird was better

  • they are baisically equal

can't really compare because they r different positiion

bird was at a position to get more rebounds and magic was at a position to get more assists

  • They where Both Great. Magic was "Too Tall to Play PG yet he had 6.0 ft Hands, Skill and vision", "Small Forward Speed" and "Near to Power Forward Strength". Bird was also a flop. "Too Slow to Play Guard" to thin to "Play Forward", "Too Unathletic to Play Small Forward" and "Could Not Jump High". Yet he "Was The Greatest Shooter Ever", "Had PG Vision and Hands", "Greatest Post Up Shooter Ever", "Worked the Post in Rebounds Like a Monster" by just boxing out and using his witts.

  • They were both so good, as far as stats go...bird was on top...as far as skill ???????????

  • what is the theme/song you used for this video i like it

  • true and dont get me wrong, magic was a great player. there are lots of similiarities between the two. i have magic in my top 5 but what seperates the two is that bird was an offensive machine and purest shooter ever. while they both almost had career triple double, bird did it with more pts and rebs taking two out of 3 in the categories.

  • MAGIC JOHNSON N---1.

  • in my opinion i think that bird was the better player, AND the better leader. DOn't get me wrong they were both legends and amazing in their own right...bird takes it in my opinion though

  • bird was easily better. bird was 3.5 asst away from a career tripe double. that is sick!

  • Bird was abetter shooter, magic was a better driver, both equal at passing

  • Disagree. Passing is what made Magic so great.

  • I agree, Magic was a little better but they both showed us the art that comes from total dedication to the sport and the "lack of self conciousness" we see today in our stars. I think Magic starred for longer up until '91 but Bird was so so great in the 80's....

  • i think Magic Johnson is better but they are both really good. They were both smart player. Bird was the best white player ever

  • ojalá todo el deporte fuera tan deportivo como ellos y tan competitivo como ellos.

  • they are both damn awesome
