Anyone dissing Gabbert doesnt know football, the reason I say that is who does Jacksonville have at wideout? Jarrett Dilliard? Kassim Osgood the special teamer at SD? Brian Robiskie who lost to Massaquoi in the wr battle in Cleveland? Mike Thomas was, at best their best wide out, and they were a running team with MJD the NFL is getting to where you cant win without talent. need any evidence? look at the super bowl winning teams and tell me they didnt have recievers so hush cuz u dont know shit
all gabbert needs is a WR. i use to live in jacksonville so yea i am kind of a fan...(born in lousiana and been a saints fan first WHO DAT!?!) and i saw some good things from him but with a top WR and jones drew and mercadis lewis at TE the jags have some growing to do but will have a chance in the next few years.
The best pick in the whole draft was JAKE LOCKER!!!
The Titans stole a phenom with their pick!! people will see that Locker is going to be the BEST QB in this draft. And yes i knew who CAM NEWTON is. GREAT GREAT QB in Cam!
Locker is special in his own way till will show im right!
I liked Gabbert coming out of the draft, i never expected him to be as bad as he is. The Jaguars need to get a true #1 WR to help him out as much as possible. The Jaguars would have been better off with the 4-5th rounder in TJ. Yates. That would have been a great value pick, get the same kind of talent with your 4th or 5th rounder and you neevr would of drafted GABBERT with the 10#............... shoulda woulda, coulda!
@BuffaloBills28 It doesn't make any sense. TJ Yate is not better than Gabbert. He has one of the best WR in the league , and also a VERY great Running Game to help him .. every QB could win with that team. Gabbert has a very BAD Offensive Line , and simply no WR , he only has MJD , give him a break , he need weapon around him ..
Blaine Gabbert = Brady Quinn, both are touted to be potential No. 1 overall picks, both slip in the draft to shitty teams (Cleveland & Jacksonville), both put up QB ratings in the 60s when they were starters, both around 6ft 3, both around 230lbs, both have 1:1 TD:INT ratios.
Unless Gabbert can improve, which is unlikely seeing as he has no WRs, he'll end up like Quinn.
Also you can't be a bust after one season. McCourty was second team All Pro last season, and this season he's terrible. Stop being retarded and claiming he's a bust after one season.
To everyone saying he sucks. He has potential. The main problem, and one I hope they address in training camp is his happy feet. He needs to stop being scared of getting sacked, and make even more loss of yards by trying to escape it. Second, get him some receivers. The Jags have receivers that are probably 5th string if started on any other team.
@Richurro he has a higher QB rating than John Elway when he played his rookie season. Was Elway a bust? Gabbert was not even supposed to play this season. that is why he was third on the depth chart at the start of the pre-season. Gabbert has no receivers and his guards are pitiful. That combined with an inexperienced rookie QB is a recipe for disaster. Gabbert is too early in his career to be considered a "bust."
@UGLYMarioBROS As a Jags fan, you need to realize he was not supposed to start at all this season. It is very unlike rookies to play like Andy Dalton or Cam Newton. BE PATIENT!!!
@MostricBass Dude he's scared in the pocket, he doesn't step into his throws like the other rookies: cam newton, andy dalton, christian ponder, and jake locker (when he's played). With that being said he has all the physical tools to succeed he justs needs to learn he's gonna have to take some hits to the ball down the field.
My buddies and I were/ are huge David Garrard fans (he thrived under a horrible coach in Jack Del Rio) so I really hope this kid can show us something. Hopefully, he works his tail off to GET BETTER in the offseason, otherwise the Jacksonville Jaguars become the Los Angeles Jaguars come 2014.
he's young.. he is actually throwing the ball on the numbers the receivers have butterfingers. gabbert can't control that. he will be a great QB or the jags soon enough!
del rio was an idiot for letting go of garrard. gabbert isnt ready to start, they shouldve taken time with him and let garrard start in his relief, now his career is probably not going to be as promising as hoped..
@MostricBass a lot of improving? This pale motherfucker pisses his pants every time he gets rushed, and can't complete for more than 55%. As an NFL QB u can't succeed if your afraid of pass rush and if your erratic with your throws...
He's number 3 all-time for most times sacked in a season. He flinches before he gets sacked even when he has half a second to stand in and deliver a clean throw. Shit I'd take Leftwich back over this guy.
@jorourke05 Kinda, right now. He reminds me of Alex Smith (aside from how high each player was drafted.) Alex had a very sub par career up until this year, but look at the niners now. Just knocked off an undefeated team at home. The Jags just need to draft Blackmon or Jeffery in the first round next yr and they'll be good.
@jorourke05 The 2nd and 3rd years for a QB matter more than their 1st year. How well did guys like Peyton Manning, John Elway and Troy Aikman fair in their 1st year? Another comparison could be Rick Mirer and Drew Bledsoe. Mirer had a better 1st year, but Bledsoe went on to have a better career. More recently, look at Matt Ryan: good 1st year, poor 2nd year, really good 3rd year.
Simply put, you never know right away if a QB is going to be the franchise. 3 years is the ideal wait, IMO.
what happened to NFL players getting 3 seasons to prove themselves, nowadays we make our minds up about a player after 8 or 9 games.

Gabbert still couldn't produce with the #1 RB Drew and an above average defense. I don't know about this kid.
