Incredible scene, incredible series. Covered a lot of corruption on various levels. And Jackson Browne's "Lives in the Balance" is fantastic for this. Guest appearance, ironically, by G gordon Liddy.
they are the real DEAL,...even after years later,...watching it again sure brings back the memory.....no wonder the so-called movie ( done by 2 kids ) ended such a failure.....p.s. can't have kids substitute the REAL DEAL....
@crankyasianman He was gonna be in the series finale (as Maynard) but the deal fell through. It was originally Liddy as Maynard as the villain but for some odd reason Michael Mann & Dick Wolf changed it to Ian McShane as The Butcher Borbon. Maybe Liddy backed out at the very last minute. Hard to say. Hard to believe Liddy is 80 flippin yrs old now.
.... This episode of Miami Vice was where I first heard the Jackson Browne song "Lives In The Balance".... Thanks for the up' !!!

Truly one of the darkest endings of a Vice episode - very affecting!
