  • touching heart and soul

  • makes me cry.

  • This performance is to heartbreaking, too beautiful for words. Only Mark Knopfler.

  • @Marikit777 ... I mean "too" heartbreaking, instead of "to.."

  • best version ever

  • It's all very well standing up there playing with such confidence when you are the best guitar player in the world.

I'd like to see him try it if he was mortal.

  • Greatest concert in history. Everyone who was anyone was there. Those who weren't missed out. 9 hours! That Clapton agreed to be part of Dire Straits for this tribute shows his character and humility. Superb all the way around. Queen/Mercury was wonderful, too. Mandela couldn't attend, of course, as he was still in prison.

  • Thanks for uploading. I got it on DvD, it's magic.

    @aresbe. Indeed, it does!

  • This music is epic, its simple magic. Keep this music to the rest of our lifes.

  • I love this tune it's one of the few songs that I can listen to regardless of what's going on around me....

    love it. Xxxx

  • I'm so proud of them!!!

    ONE JUSTICE, ONE HUMANITY!!!

  • I have always loved this version. I got goosebumps every time when I hear the amazing feelingenergic solo. I almost burst to cry.

  • Closing my eyes and... letting my soul travel!..

Every once in a while you find a rare master....

This has to be one of the most powerful live performances I've ever seen.

    wow

  • very moving song.if it doesnt get you, then you have broken strings in your blues soul.computers wont fix it either.aye yhe ultimate band Dire Straits live on baby....

  • I've read that Brothers in Arms and Wonderful Tonight were both officially released. Does ANYONE know on which CD I can find these songs??? I can't find any official releases anywhere.

    Thanks!

  • Just looking at the tabs of this solo on Ultimate Guitar and wow...They look SO simple...Then you try to play them and you realize that no matter how much you practice, you sound like a robot compared to Mark Knopfler. He is SO smooth and puts so much emotion into this. Mark really is an amazing guitar player...

  • you are right... it looks like anyone can play that, looking at the tabs...

but when you try it, you see how much feeling mark has put in to this song... and how hard it is to make it sound similar to his version

    Amazing!

  • @Quake120 You some it up beautifully. Seemingly simple technique, but with complex, idiosyncratic phrasing. Not forgetting immaculate tone!!!

  • 7.42 - 7.48.

Is there anybody who could gently give me the tab of these 6 seconds please? :o))) Thanks a lot!!!

  • Hallo to everybody,

Im an italian huge fan of Mark & Dire Straits Is there someone of you that could gently write me down what Mark says from 0.00 to 0.56?

Ive got I really great curiosity but I dont speak understand English very well if somebody helps me it would be fantastic!! :o)

    Thank you very much indeed

    Andrea.

  • its something like:

Billy was talking about the last album being banned, it wasn't the last one, it was the very first one, we got banned by the south african government back in 1979, I'm pleased to say... this one is really for the gentleman in question this evening, best birthday party we've ever been to, thanks for having us... one humanity, one justice.

  • You can see at the end that even Clapton is goosebumpin

  • the best version of Brother's in arms, live or studio. MK is God's lead guitar.

  • c'est mon morceau préféré

  • very deep and lovely indeed. Nothing can be compared of the emotions it brings.. seems like im in paradise..amazing!

  • See 6:38! You can see he's being controlled by God ;)

  • This song belongs in a time capsule ... just in case ... so future generations can hear the very best of our time. Long over due that MK belongs in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

  • totally agree!

  • hellfuckinyeah eh :D

  • Well said. This is one of the best songs ever and this particular performance is just amazing. I remember seing it live on TV.
