  • I have always liked this version of Schumann's setting of Eichendorff's "Mondnacht".

  • I like the clarity and sonority of this vocal line. It is refreshing and actually very musical.

  • hervorragend in der diktion! bis auf die "seele" (die weit ihre flügel ausspannte...)

da könnten sich so manche klassischen sänger ein beispiel nehmen!!

  • One would not expect to hear Strisand singing classical art songs, and creating and entire album...of course, with a slightly "torch song" style, which drove the critics mad. She was classically trained...just found that musicals paid a lot more money and she realize early on that the classical protocol allow only just so many at the top. But her voice, like her style, as always, is perfection. The album is on CD, the original about 40 yrs old. She sings in 5 different languages. Perfection!

  • @09WestTexas actually, she only had one voice lesson in her whole life. She was 19, the voice teacher told her how to pronounce the word BEE, and she didn't like it. So she left and never looked back
