I went to a showing of Rocky Horror once and at one point the performers in front of the screen threw a cup of urine at the audience.

The most tragic part was that I had a freshly-opened beer in the seat cupholder. I'm sure stuff got in it. It was really hard to drink it after that. I was so outraged I turned to my friends and said, "Well, I'm not coming back."

It's the day after our Thanksgiving holiday (which was Thursday). It's the first "official" day of Christmas shopping, a total frenzy. The term "Black Friday" comes from the fact that it's the first day that many retailers actually see a profit for the first time that year - the day their ledgers first show black ink instead of red. This year it has a new meaning - the day a New York Walmart employee was trampled to death by the on-rush of crazy shoppers. So sad, but that's New Yorkers for you!

Actually, the term "Black Friday" was given to the day after Thanksgiving by the Philadelphia police in the 1960s, because of all the traffic headaches and other problems the police had to deal with on that day. Retailers tried to give it a positive spin with that story about stores being in the black, but that's not the reason. And yeah, the security guard getting trampled in NY and two men shooting and killing each other in a ToysRus in Cali are new reasons for calling it "Black Friday".
