  • The thing I really admire about Siouxsie is that she never let the media or other music labels tie her down, she stays true to herself and writes music that SHE wants to do. From what I've seen, she isn't being controlled by anyone for her music style and well, She's just truly inspiring in my opinion.

  • do you think punk still exists?

i think in the spirit and in the attitude yes it does...

totally agree Siouxsie! you're a great woman, an empowering model for all of us out there, thanks!!! :)

  • joni mitchell was writing songs (lyrics and music) and playing her own instruments and producing her own albums from the mid to late sixties..... so she really was the groundbreaker in terms of female empowerment in music..... and that was a decade before punk happened....siouxsie should make reference to joni i feel.... she said that prior to punk, women in music were just puppets..that's clearly not true.....nina simone, janis joplin also spring to mind as headstrong women....

  • @lebartonne I think she meant in the more mainstream. I hope. O_o Even though punk back in the early days was so against mainstream.

  • @Kirascry she probably was talking about female pop in britain at that time. or those top of the pop acts with limp female backing dancers.....coz you've also got patti smith to consider as another groundbreaking empowered female singer/songwriter who pre-dates siouxsie....coz siouxsie def wasn't the first..she was the first punk rock female act to make it big...but i love her anyhow....she's an inspiration

  • she is so sexy

  • I had every tape that collect though the years and than I moved and lost it all in a fire I wish I had my siouxsie tapes that I loved I miss her so much what happened to my girl? Lady GAGA cant put a pimple on her at all.........

  • SIOUXSIE SIOUX, WHERE ARE YOU ?

  • wow, she looks good.

  • Siouxsie looks like she doesn't want to be there. She looks bored.....I love Siouxsie!

  • She is the Queen of Punk

  • I love her voice & her person & her style I think everything =D

  • I thought she was more of an icon for the Goth subculture than anything else...

  • I was...am...always will be...seduced.

  • for alot of us growing up in inner city Los Angeles, this woman was The Queen....

  • A truley insperational woman, long live Siouxsie

  • This woman just stays gorgeous

  • I heard that, "Do what you wanna do, fuck everyone else", last year when I was 50. Never have looked back since. Siouxsie can eat the competition for brekkie & still have room for a FULL ENGLISH LUNCH! I'll pay! Je t'aime, ma petite.

  • what a woman indeed

  • A true artist, love you Siouxsie

  • CLASS CLASSY INTELIGENT SUPER WOMAN!!!!!!

Female preformers today are nothing more than untalented soft porn eye candy with no brains or class.....Lady GAGA isnt fit to lick Siousies shoes........

  • "Do what you wanna do, fuck everyone else."

  • Love Her!!

    Punk Godness!!

  • Who is the male host??

  • what does she say in 1:08?

  • she says "i can take it or leave it" - nice attitude.

  • did she have any kids???

    id like to know....

  • No, she didn't.

  • Wonderful!!!

  • I wonder if she misses Sid. Did she like or hate Nancy?

  • You know what, this grande dame gets better in her looks as she gets older. Like a fine wine.

    Siouxsie is pure amazing.

  • If they didn't make a butt load off the dress, look, n' sound... I'll eat my hankie..

  • i love siouxsie!!! aesthetically and musically innovative.

  • actually, she IS quite original. i dare you to do something as original and worth watching as she did for her time. and she's still far more interesting than many of the current artists available.

  • Very well said, I agree.

  • she's still punk, and i totally respect that

  • fuck she looks completely different

  • She's awesome. <3

  • The fact how she started by just on a whim to join a band and "see what's it like for 15 minutes" to now a legend is extraordinary to say the least!

  • Striking and charasmatic woman. Great band too, the 'Banshees'.

  • Striking and charasmatic woman. Great band too.

  • still lookin' good siouxsie ;)

  • i want to be Siouxsie Sioux:) She's divine!

  • almost 60 and I'd still fuckin do her...dead sexy

  • 50!!!! ooh if she read that!

  • I just adore Siouxsie

  • Punk as a way of mind comes in many forms, and the angry music and outrageous makeup is just a couple of them...for example Jonny Rotten has spent his whole life telling everyone how he doesn't give a fuck what people think (which to me means he does) on the other hand you have a band like... lets say, Pink Floyd who did exactly what they wanted, not give a fuck, and not felt the need to bleat on about it...and thats because they truly truly DID NOT GIVE A FUCK!

  • Interesting point there, Pink Floyd were more punk than the punks!!!

  • Pink Floyd sucks

  • So do you!!!

  • I believe the shirt read I Hate Pink Floyd, if that's what you're talking about.

  • @mudman1881 The Ramones are the Gods of Punk and to them everybody "Sucked!"

Clearly, Siouxsie Sioux is the Goddess of Punk and she said it best "... do what you want to do, Fuck everyone else..."

I was a hrad core punk back in the late 70's, early 80's and was able to see SATB and others at small venues. I didn't follow anybody elses dress or hair-styles just followed my own.

That same Punk Spirit needs too infect today's kids.

Stop being Lady KaKa followers, blaze your own path!

  • @yo1dude1man Depending on where you were a punk I was probably right there next to you doing my own thing as well. Late 70's early 80's east and west village in NYC I haunted those streets, me and my mates throwing down observing all the airplane glued mohawkers, the catholic skool girrrls with riped fishnets, the posers and the pushers....what a scene, anyone ever wants to chat about it or interview me I was THERE!!!!

  • @TheDj3a Gabba Gabba Hey, Bro!

  • @yo1dude1man- I am a female of the species, just wanted you to know, bro! tee hee

  • @TheDj3a My bad! Much Respect to you. Peace/Love out!

  • @mudman1881 Good point about Lydon. He protests too much. Its true, if you don't care what people thing you don't bang on about it for 35 years. Also Lydon may have been a trailblazer, but Floyd were prime examples. I say this as someone who loved punk in my youth and went to many gigs

  • never mind i found it.

  • what song is she singing in that video .the one in the begining of this clip

  • Into a swan :)

  • hahaha, shes thee greatest :]

  • i still wanna screw siouxie sioux.

  • "Do what you want to do, FUCK EVERYONE ELSE!"

That is how Siouxsie has always been and I admire that in an artist! A real Artist!

  • Ha,ha!"f*** everyone else"Ladies and gentlemen this is the ultimate Godess Siouxsie!

    The original one!

    Love her so much!

  • great artist.

  • Tho i like Gothic Rock more but i think Siouxsie (and Danielle Dax) is AWESOME =]

  • I think Siouxsie is very elegant... And she also has a very unique charm, which makes her extremly charismatic person :)

And I'm really impressed of her look, for me she's even better and more beautiful than in her earlier years! wow... She's one of those women who get more and more beautiful with every year, whose age is their merit not demerit :) Impressive!

  • una gande

  • SUSAN JANET BALLION = BEAUTIFUL

  • I agree with josephh6; a lot of these kids do not understand her history with the anti-establishment, non-commercial, do what you want to do" attitude...but isn't it great that they will get to know her all over again. She is still a brilliant, intelligent, stunning songwriter/singer/performer, and I love to see her back in the limelight, and back in my ears. I can't wait for the video for "Here Comes That Day"!

  • SHE IS STILL SO BEAUTIFUL!

  • Do what you wanna do... Fuck everyone else.

  • Mmmm...Siouxsie.

  • i think the female interviewer is pretty gushing over la sioux

  • look at the 'siouxsie interview 22 nov 1976' and hear how her voice has dropped over the years.

  • actually this video was a respond to the sex pistols bill grundy show.

  • Comment removed

  • @ABFABBAND That's what decades of smoking does for ya.

  • I want Siouxsie. My Gothic Beauty.

  • PUNK beauty

  • *-* He estado enamorada de ella desde hace tanto. ¡Es hermoso tenerla de vuelta!

  • What I find interesting is that many of the kids (and the hosts) probably dont have any context for what she is talking about. All they have known is a world ruled by the media and commercialism, but she and the bashees have been pretty anti-commercial/establishment over the years.

  • I love Siouxsie Sioux!

  • I LOVE THIS LADYYYY!!!!!

  • fucking goddess

  • Word of what she and her cohorts were doing across the pond back were an inspiration back then. Seeing somebody my age doing this is an inspiration now. What she said about what "punk" is all about and what it is not about is a messege everybody should heed

  • is anyone going by car to the ab brussels concert from holland on the 27th of oktober?

I am looking for a carpoolride (one person)

    please contact me

    greets

    linda

  • I thought she'd be tired by now of talking about the infamous '76 Bill Grundy Pistols interview that she was part of, 'cause interviewers tend to bring it up ad nauseum. This time they didn't

bring it up, Siouxsie did, surprisingly!

I see in the UK "fuck" doesn't get bleeped!

  • I love how she says "Fuck".

  • Different country=different censorship. Take a look at Big Brother UK- barely any censorship there, but if it was broadcasted over here...

  • Does "fuck" really get bleeped out in the US?

Haha that'd be 3/4 of all TV over here censored!

  • I think the FCC in the US still fines TV networks or radio stations for it if they're on public airwaves. Cable networks & satellite pay-radio are exempt. You can see this on YouTube on Bill Maher's Real Time TV show. Bill and his guests have few qualms about language, as they know they're safe from the FCC!

I live in Canada and "fuck" is heard occasionally. It's not illegal, but many shows want to be inoffensive and discourage its use.

But movies on TV in the US get bleeped, in Canada,no.

  • FCC is very strict about that stuff these days, because of the Janet Jackson thing. FCC can really do damage now cause they can fine public shows/radio stations in six-digit price value. Even worse, they may have the chance to revoke one's license!

  • aewsome!!!
