I am not sure. I do know though that the RAM usage is really low. I have 4 GBs of RAM and the RAM usage does not go past 200MB. :)
what is your ram usage after booting ? mine is around 139~140. xubuntu 10.04

Just open Synaptic and search for "compiz". It doesn't have to be complicated. Of course, if you're used to the commandline you'd probably prefer it to using Synaptic.
