  • My window-borders disappear when I install compiz. :P No matter what distribution and DE I use. x(

  • @EvilPyroCan You need a window decorator such as "GTK window decorator" or Emerald.

  • @ThomasJChoi7 I've installed, and then chosen Emerald as my window decorator in Compiz, and enabled window decorations.

  • @EvilPyroCan Did you pick a theme under "Emerald Theme Manager"?

  • How does this compare to Compiz Fusion under GNOME?

  • i dont get why oyu would use xfce and then install compiz

  • @s3vv4 Just because I can! :) but I dont use it on a daily basis... This is just for demonstration purposes only!

  • I am not sure. I do know though that the RAM usage is really low. I have 4 GBs of RAM and the RAM usage does not go past 200MB. :)

  • what is your ram usage after booting ? mine is around 139~140. xubuntu 10.04

  • @gychang00

Just open Synaptic and search for "compiz". It doesn't have to be complicated. Of course, if you're used to the commandline you'd probably prefer it to using Synaptic.

  • @gychang00 sudo apt-get install ccsm

  • what is that music player?

  • @gychang00

  • wow that's awesome, cool to see all the desktops that way
