A triple illusion, switch leg walkover, and signature leg release during a walkover is far from intermediate. That walkover trick alone can't be done by most of the world athletes. In today's world the blending of the body with baton takes precedence over "tricking out". Her ballet technique and extension is something all twirlers should strive for under the current judging philosophy. Twirl it as long as your body lets you Jenny!
Intermediate?? are you kidding? let's see you do it! i love this program...and, yes, there may be 6 angel rolls, but out of them 3 are in connection...so to me that really wouldn't count as 6 since the 3 connected ones make up one difficult element that requires a lot of control and adds so much to the program!
I dont care if Jenny does 1, or 30 angelrolls in her routine, She had a beautifull routine. Not only for the eye (great performance skills) but also amazing difficulty, she has amazing tricks (and even TWO tripple element tricks!) and she showed off the rest very well. Amazing job, jenny!
In compare to what Jenny has accomplished at the word championships, year after year, and her great twirling achievements, I find some comments made about Jenny's freestyle a bit inappropriate
Dont get me wrong, we all have rights to state our opinion, but calling one of her amazing routines 'Intermediate Level' sounds like half witted ridicule to me.
The only other senior woman that had more than Jenny was Chiho at 7. Cobb had 0, Marcus had 3, and the Usa Pair had 3. Other japanese of Kondo had 1, Kimura had 0. After seeing wats goin on in choreography in '06 worlds, you can say 6 was starting to get too much compared to the others in the field.
don't you count angel roll catch an angel roll? if you do, then in my opinion Danielle didn't have 0 but 1, Chiho did one as well so it's 8 altogether. i didn't check the rest of them.
You never know, perhaps they'll get "old-fashioned" in a couple of years... ;)
(continued) When everyone is using them to an excessive, why be part of the crowd since you have an amazing talent that can go far beyond that at your fingertips.
Angel rolls are an ok connector into a more difficult section like the Fugimi but relied too heavily on the angel roll for crowd effect. The sit down angel roll wasn't even needed or a benefit. If she focused more on the spins, & developed the monster roll then it be a better. And don't drop the baton. Seriously though, this was an intermediate program. The twirlers from the 80s and 90s had far more difficult elements than what I am seeing today in various state and national competitions.
Did you seriously just call Jenny Hannah's performance an "intermediate program"?!?!?! Each twirler has their strengths and you should compare them based on that. Jenny has incomparable grace and body lines. You can't look at this against a Stacy Singer doing like triple standing back tucks or whatever and say one is more or less difficult. Both are excellent and spectacular to watch. This type of routine takes A LOT more control and strength.
Jenny, I thought the triple angel and the one into the cutbacks in your roll section was superior, and demonstrated enough that you have great mastery of that move. 6 does seem a bit of overkill to me, as we all have opinions, which makes the sport great. As a elite level athlete, it would make a more dynamic presentation with more variety of transitions than leaning on that roll so much is all I am saying.
There is a triple angel, a slap roll and angel connected from double reverse pops. Each shows different skills in rolls and are in combination with difficult bodywork before, during and after and are in context with the program.
The Japanese twirlers are notorious for angel roll overkill. Compared to them, I wouldn't call this routine an offender... Everyone uses angel rolls a lot because they are highly effective elements in choreography as connectors and section conclusions, and because everyone loves them.
Jenny is a great baton twirling instructor! I miss twirling with all of you at United Twirling soooo much! And I really miss my team members from "Right Now" and making up dances over Tracy's house lol! Nice job Jenny! -Diamond

Wow. I love your body work, you make everything look so beautiful!
And the beginning of your short program (actually the whole short program) was the best I've seen that year, undoubtedly :)
