what you failt to see is to make your empire GREAT you had to eliminate other empires. Alexander wanted a great empire, to do that he had to take over asia. The Romans did the same when they had their great empire and the british tried the same in the 1800s when building their empire and fighting the native Americans. History is full of this my friend.

Since the British took over places like North America, First Nations people were wiped out and nowadays (I live in Canada, so I know) they suffer immensely because they were assimilated, neglected and taken advantage of. Look at places like India. Great place of intelligence and economic potential, but so much

Africa and India had so many riches that Europe didn't and all the French/Brits did was exploit. Look at Africa. Look at how delayed they are in terms of medicine, technology and now look. Alexander was no murderer, this was the way things happened in acient times. It wasn't just Alexander who was killing countless people. The Romans would do this in years to come, the Greeks would do this to rebuild their empire after the fall of Alexander. The asian empire would fight to take their land back. To win a war in ancient times you had to kill practically everyone in the enemy army

No. You're looking at it the wrong way. Alexander is in no way similar to Hitler. You have to understand THIS was the way things happened in Ancient times. It was either fight n expand the empire. Or fight n defend it. Alexander was Great because of his strategic mind. Not cus he killed people

and alexander is just a mirror of hitler, he also surrounded himself with very good generals, develop blitzkrieg warfare, defeated french in a little more than a month, and most of his neighboring states in less than that, and what do you know he also was looking to expand his empire, you know that's also brilliant, but that does not make it less bloody or less criminal, killing is killing.

I'm not disagreeing with the fact that he killed hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of men. But you must also agree that if you are to compare HIM with Hitler, you must compare every General of every state in the Ancient world to Hitler. They killed for the sake of defence and power, back then it was kill or wait to be killed. You NEEDED an army back then and you NEEDED a General like Alexander. Things were different then. Not like they were in Hitler's Time. Hence they are different.

@sitlord75, first of all Greece had never been a colony of the British empire. Furthermore the term "Greek" derives from Latin (Ancient Rome). In our language we do not call ourselves Greeks but Hellenes and our culture Hellenic. Yes there were city states that fought each other for supremacy but they had the same language, culture & worshiped the same gods. Therefore they were the same nation. Ancient Macedonians spoke Greek (Koine) worshiped the same gods & participated in the Olympics.
