@geradorable I never thought about that one, I do run a lot of RC cars which are powered by li po batteries once they get overheated by too much charge or being run too hard , the chemicals have to leak somehow , no question about it it may be in the form of fluid or vapors, which really happen to be extremely unhealthy for the body, I wonder what will happen if you have an accident with this car? would the hazmat team supposed to clean up the batteries mess be4 they leaked into the ground.

@geradorable You do realise that LiFePo4 batteries are actually recyclable and in fact the safest of all battery chemistry's available, including lead acid battery's which all cars have as standard anyway.

I'm a huge E.V fan but i hate all this condescending environmental bull. Personally I appreciate the environmental benefits from it, but there's a danger of turning off certain segments of potential markets and effectively polarising people based on political beliefs and not highlighting other benefits like energy security, efficiency, independence from oil, ease of use, drivability, cost savings

Cute commercial, but in reality it should be a Coal Power executive hugging him. Chances are, the electricity in whatever town fuels that car is generate by a coal plant either in that state or a neighboring one. You're dreaming if you think you're helping the environment by using electric cars; you're helping burn more coal and lining the pockets of big coal executives. (Not to mention the toxicity of the car's battery!)

Sorry to interrupt your fantasy, folks, but reality is king.

@svenssonm873 - Respectfully, electric is NOT a source; it is a medium. Electricity can be generated by any means. Remember that 65+% of America's electricity comes from coal, for that reason I cringe when I hear "electric car", because it implies total cleanliness, which isn't true of ANY source. Natural gas is somewhat better than coal, but even some natural gas comes from coal. The danger as I see it, is the coal burned to keep "electric" cars running may pollute more than an old gas car.

How are electric cars going to "save the polar bears" / the planet when the cars batteries are charged up using power generated from coal power plants?? Almost half of power generated in the U.S. come from burning coal.
