while the wii version of this fight was better, i much prefered the 360 version overall. the day stages were 10x better than the already good ones in the wii, and the night stages were no where near as tedious.

Just to explain Dark Gaia's size change, the reason Dark Gaia disintegrated was because he was born early, and hadn't 'condensed', so he couldn't handle his own weight. So Eggman made a giant furnace for Dark Gaia to condense himself in so that he's a more manageable size, and there we go.

Stage 1: Punch-out

S. 2: Running

S. 3: Shield (on rails to help the controls)

S. 4: Arms (without quick time)

Final Stage: Eyes (wii version)

When you charge the arms, I would have prefered that to be set out like the Wii version Perfect Dark Gaia, such as dodging rocks whilst boosting into his hands whilst a sort of Chip 'struggle' bar goes down.

There's actually a video on Youtube which shows basically what the Dark Gaia fight would have been if the two versions merged together; first the rush towards Dark Gaia with Chip, then the Punch-Out bit, then the running, then taking out the shield, quick-time event hell, and finally the Wii's eye-battering. Epic as all hell, as you two said.

Hmm, well from having the Wii version [and having now watched this whole playthrough] I'd say that I prefer the Wii first part of the Dark Gaia battle, part two's the same in both so N/A, and prefer the 3Dness of the last part but like the more hands-on approach the Wii version had.

The Wii version looked to have been better off without the 3D hubs and Tails Tornado sections, but I hated the half-assed combat system we got...

Actually, Dark Gaia's size change is easily explainable.

Dark Gaia's form hadn't compressed into a completely solid form in the beginning, hence why you can see through it, and why it easily collapsed in on itself.
