  • You have no idea how happy finding these old episodes made me!!! Thank you!

  • One thing has puzzled me since being a child.

I would sit in the kitchen and hear Zorro on tv in the living room, even as a child I remember wondering - If I can recognize Zorro and Diego by their voice alone, why couldn't anyone else?? Same goes for Clark Kent and Superman. Oh well It is just Fiction after all - but to a kid in the 50's-60's I thought I was onto something big!

  • Diego was terrible with his sword fighting skills, but at least he got the trail off of him.

  • @Torie3593 dude what are you saying guy willims was trained in fencing for this role ?

  • so he can be just like zorro so screw you

  • example: Diego strategically complains to the Magistrado after being almost "run down" in the street by Zorro(Bernardo) on horseback, "something must be done!" You then see both Diego and Zorro simultaneously whilst the Magistrate responds, "Something will be done!) ...Genius

  • @AutobotNutcase

Right before "The Fall of Monastario," he witnesses Diego clumsily fight that imposter Zorro and win(just like he claims to the viceroy in the tavern). Then after checking report after report, Monastario's suspicion turns to obsession when he realizes that Diego was always "close at hand," but he was never seen with Zorro. For this reason IMO, Diego played it smart in recently later episodes with the Magistrado by having Bernardo help him turn away any potential suspicion.

  • Okay, there's one thing that just occurred to me. In this episode, Diego insists, "Even *I* might be Zorro - I demand that you try me out to clear me of any suspicion!" Monastario tries him, and says, "You are cleared of all suspicion!" Later on, in "The Fall of Monastario," Monastario insists, "You MUST be Zorro! You're SO unlikely that your disguise is TOO good!" What finally happened to change his mind, and why did he get so obsessive about it?

  • Around 2:15 I'm surprised Don Diego kept his cool and made a recovery.

  • After that sword fight I had an irresistable urge to pat Diego's shoulder x3

  • @SilverVelvet That "sword fight" WAS pretty funny, wasn't it? I remember seeing a movie once about a dance contest at a summer camp, and one of the lady contestants - the sister of the female lead character - was played by a professional dancer. When the pro dancer was approached for the part, they asked her, "Can you play a bad dancer?" and she successfully played the worst dancer at the camp! Diego reminds me of that here. How can such a good swordsman make himself look that poor?! :O :)!

  • Aha! at 3:57, he calls the sword a Saber!

Now, those swords look like the Sabers you use in fencing today, but when I look up what historical sabers look like they are more like the swords Sgt. Garcia uses. Both are based as a Cavalry weapon, but the guards are slightly different.

    *nerds out*

  • Diego is adorable pretending to be a bad swordsman and wanting to prove his "innocence"

"I wish to try on the costume!" I love that finger point

  • How many people had their hearts stop for a second when the Commandante raised the mask up? I did!

  • @AHorselover1 I had the same reaction the first time I saw this episode. The first thing I could think was, "Dear God! That's Diego's Zorro outfit! How did Monastario find the tunnels?" Then Monastario admitted it was a copy he'd had made, and I started breathing again.

  • the only thing I have to say is: YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh

  • The one person that didn't 'like' this is Monastario.

  • lol ;-D

Diego's double game and pretended bad swordsmanship is hilarious!

  • lol 59 people like this and 1 person doesnt......i'm gonna kill that 1 person -.-

  • Great show!

  • Dang it! I went to hit play and hit the ruddy rating stars!! This is one of my favorite episodes too :S Sorry for lowering the rating by mistake.

  • Monistario's white horse is the same one that Zorro used later, in the next season, when he stayed in Monterey.

  • I'm surprised they didn't test Benito's swordsmanship like they did with Diego.

  • Never mind. I just watched the third part.

  • Not under the tree you fool! Dang, Don Diego sure knows how to clear suspicion.

  • thanks a lot!!!

  • LOL! Guy Williams, the real true Zorro--alias Don Diego--donning a faux Zorro costume and pretending to be a lousy swordsman to fool the Comandonte...Brilliant play on the part of the fox.

  • oh God bless you my friend ! we all love Zorro by Guy Williams!

  • @androusmore he does zorro really well

  • lol he plays the fool so well.

  • My childhood times.

I was to attend a series only in black and white.

    Thanks!

  • that sword fight made me laughe

  • LOL

You have brought back many wonderful childhood memories!
