  • is that a tautog on 1:49 if so i though they didnt hit lures only crab bait?

  • @momo2317 Yes - that is a nice tautog caught on a viper spoon with a strip of cut bait. They love to eat crabs and clams, but they will also take a cut bait strip.

Thanks for tuning in and good luck on the water!

  • question when a person comments who answers it, is it Ivo or an employee

  • @SuperPensfan8771 Ivo will answer to comments if time permits. Otherwise they are mostly answered by other members of the Thundermist team. Thanks!

  • can you use the viper spoon on the shore?

  • @jnmars1 Yes, you can use the Viper Spoon from shore - although it is a very light spoon, it will get a bit heavier once you add your bait. Otherwise, you can also add some weight about a foot in front of the Viper Spoon, if you need to get it down deeper.

You are going to love using the Viper spoon - thasnk for writing in and good luck on the water!

  • how do you set live bait can u do a video on that please

  • @spookycheese123 We have a video that will show this. Please go to Thundermist fishing tips site - videos - how to rig your SP5 Viper Spoon. This should help you. Thanks!

  • can you let a viper spoon sit on the bottom like when fishing for fluke

  • @mikem1524 You can certainly let the viper spoon sit on the water, but it is not intended to fish that way - if it is moving, it will flash and flutter and attack a lot of Fluke!

Thanks for writing in and good fishing.

  • hey ivo i know that you say not to attach your viper spoons to snap swivels to attach them to snaps but i cant seem to find them in any stores do you know any stores becuase it kinda stinks that my viper spoons are just rotting in my tackle box. Thanks Cj.

  • @AwesomeWweThemeSongs If you can not find a single snap, then go ahead and use a snap/swivel....the Viper Spoons will still work great for you! In the meanwhile, Cabela's carries plenty of single snaps, and you could order them on line.

Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water - hope you get those Viper spoons wet soon!

  • @thundermistlures so do you attach the ring of the viper spoon to the swivel right?

  • @AwesomeWweThemeSongs If you will be usiing a snap-swivel, the snap portion is connected to the ring of the Viper Spoon. The swivel portion is connected to your main fishing line from the reel. Thanks!

  • @FishingForFun100 The size SP1 Viper Spoon will catch you some bigger crappies, that's for sure - but you are right, it would be a bit to big for sunfish/bluegills as they have very small mouths - where as the crappies, have a larger mouth and can easily hit an SP1 Viper Spoon.

Thanks for taking time to write to us and until next time, good luck and good fishing!

  • hey its me again! which one of your lures is THE BEST for striped bass and blue fish? love your vids!

  • @Holyjtizzle123 The best size Viper Spoon for stripers and blues is the SP5. This will take a whole small mackerel or hearing, or a nice cut bait strip or even a small eel!

You can get away with the SP4 size, but the SP5 is our preferred size for both stripers and blues.

Until next time, good lcuk and good fishing.

  • Thanks Ivo, I already spoke to my sister and she knows that place, she will send it to me in Dubai, I really enjoy your fishing videos, thank you.

  • @TheNinjarider06 ...sounds great and we hope you have a great time on the water in Dubai...feel free to send us some photos!

  • Hi Ivo, just want to know if you have a store in Toronto, Canada, coz I will ask my sister to buy some fishing tackle and your viper spoon, if you have, please send the address and telephone number. Thank you.

  • @TheNinjarider06 Bass Pro shops (by Canada's Wonderland) carries the size SP1, SP4 & SP5 Viper spoons. The only other store close to Toronto, would be Fishing World in Hamilton - they have the SP1 & SP2 sizes...but call first to check stock. If you can not find what you are looking for, you can always order from our on line store.

Thanks for writing in and good lcuk on the water!

  • Sorry, I meant 1:53 What is the fish at 1:53?

  • Sorry, I meant 1:53

  • @andyart11 That is a wahoo. Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • @andyart11 That is a small whole squid. Thanks!

  • are you sure..... im not trying to sound like a loser but at 1:41 there is a fish with a blue top and it does not have a tent. just trying to clarify. if it is a waleye then exuse my rudeness... good luck fishing!!! the viper spoon works great for sea bass

  • @Darianslocalfishing Yes, it's the fish before the walleye and it is a dolphin or mahi-mahi.

    Thanks again!

  • what is the fish at 1:41

  • @Darianslocalfishing That was a walleye. Thanks.

  • hey im going to go sea bass fishing this week do you think i can use the viper spoon for sea bass???

please answer as soon as possible

  • @chivita234 You can use the Viper Spoon for seabass. Use a 3-way set-up & fish close to bottom. Good luck!

  • hey im going to go sea bass fishing this week do you think i can use the viper spoon for sea bass???

  • what kind of live bait can u put on and what kind for blues?

  • @TheHaloOriginal You can use any live bait you want - just keep it "streamlined" and thin, so it maximizes the action.

We like to use a whole small mackerel or a whole sardine - cut bait strips will also work great for Blues.

Good luck on the water and good fishing!

  • what collor do you suggest for fishing bluefish or striped bass

  • @TheHaloOriginal We have had great luck with the blue sardine for striper and silver for blues. Thanks!

  • Is there anyway you can get the beaded viper spoon at the store or is it only buyable online?

  • @brndmore7 Vipers may be purchased in some Bass Pro Shops & also some bait shops in the NY, NJ area. Thanks!

  • @smoothcriminal997 ....I love that hat - I should have worn it....thanks for writing in and for tuning in. Until next time good luck and good fishing.

  • That really cool what color would you suggest for amberjacks using a whole squid n mediteranean water???

  • @vassilis359995 Amberjacks will definitely take squid as a bait - or you can use a thin strip of your favorite cut bait...that will also work well.

Good lcuk on the water & good fishing!

  • Is it possible to rig a whole squid on this lure??

  • @vassilis359995 We use whole squid all the time on the viper spoons...it's a fantastic combination for all kinds of salt water fish.

The best size Viper Spoon to use is the size SP4 or SP5, as they have larger hooks and will accommodate your bait very nicely.

We actually have a youtube video showing the perfect fluke rig and this is with a whole squid. Our action video also shows the action of the Viper Spoon with a whole squid and it is amazing!

Thanks for writing in & good fishing.

  • whats te song of the video

  • Not sure what the song in the video is...our web master found it for us.

Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water!

  • is there any possibility that the fish might strike the spoon instead of the bait? what color would you recommend if i will be using it salt water. thanks!

  • It is possible for a fish to strike the spoon.

Silver is the general color, while gold is most effective in stained water. Bleeding pearl chartreuse is excellent and is leading in popularity for taking flat fish. The blue sardine & green mackerel are also good as their patterns will attract various spieces as well. Thanks for writing & good fishing!

  • have you tried a jerkworm? it is a fake worm with scented flavor to attract bass. I caught a 20in bass with it!

  • Thanks for writing in & sharing your story with us...that's a nice size bass you caught!

Artificial scented worms work great, especially when they are on the back of a Viper Spoon!

Until next time, good luck & Good Fishing!

  • what are some other types of lures you would recommend to catch bigger fish such as pike, walleye, and bass?

  • Actually, The Viper Spoons will work great for you for Pier, Walleye & Bass.

The Viper Spoons are a mufti-species lure. Simply tailor the size of your Viper Spoon & related bait, to the species you are seeking.

The Viper Spoons will catch you both Quantity & quality fish.

If you want to also try some other lures, Bass & Walleye also love jigging spoons. Tube jigs are also good for bass.

For pike, I really like the size SP3 Viper Spoon rigged with an artificial worm, or a spinner bait.

  • IN this video, the trailer was a "Picasso" brand 6" scuttle worm - pumpkin with green flake (powered with chum scent)

Keep in mind you can use many different kinds of artificial soft plastic baits or natural cut bait or whole bait.

Just tailor your bait & the size of the Viper Spoon, to the species you are seeking & get ready to catch fish & have some fun.

Tanks for writing in - good luck on the water & good fishing!

  • thanks this was very help full

  • Glad you enjoyed the video & thanks for writing in!

Good luck on the water & good fishing.

  • I never believed that I would purchase a product and actually have the very man Ivo call me to address my concerns. If this lure works as good as its backers I would urge ALL fishermen to get behind this product. I fish blues and striper's and KNOW how effective these things can be, but I purchased these for my trip to Florida, I'm waiting for them to arrive but I'm VERY excited about them. I can't wait to tie them to my Shimano Strada 6000 and toss them out.... !!

  • Thanks for writing in & for the kind words. You are going to love our new Viper Spoons!

We hope you have a great trip to Florida & feel free to keep in touch & to send us your Viper Spoon photos as we will proudly display them in our photo gallery.

Untiul next time, good luck & good fishing!

  • i tried this but i couldnt get the viper spoon to stay in the water no matter how slow i reeled it in. Any tips?

  • After casting, let the viper spoon sink a bit and then try pointing your rod tip downwards, towards the water when you are reeling in. This should solve your problem.

However, should you still be having difficulties, you can always add some split shots to your line - about a foot above the lure. This will also help get the Viper Spoon down to deeper water.

Good luck next time out - hope you catch a big one!
