the graphics on crisis core cutscene look better because they're pre-rendered, as opposed to the real-time graphics on the tech demo..
the tech demo, though it was rendered real-time, was more impressive because it's almost as good as pre-rendered graphics.. that's an achievement for the PS3..
noob, the crisis core CG cutscenes are NOT psp graphics.. they are pre-rendered movies, as in video files... those cutscenes can even be played on PS1, PS2, and PC... why? because they are just video files..
on the other hand, the PS3 demo was rendered real-time (in-game graphics), hence the term "technical demo" which was a showcase of PS3's real-time power... that real-time detail can NOT be generated on PS2 or PSP because they do NOT have the hardware to support it..
Yeah im still sticking to the original FF7, I'm not all that bothered about a remake, would be nice but hey, I love the old school graphics. I'm original what can ya say hehe
I now see the diffence in the videos now, I forgot the close ups of Cloud and the Buster Sword on the train, my bad heh ^^;;
only the 1st half looks the same. the tech demo was a complete recreation of the original FF7 intro, while the crisis core scene recreated only half of it and made the other half different.
aside from that, notice also the difference in detail and design---- lighting, aerith's basket/flowers/bracelet/hair, cars, people and clothes, smoke, etc...
btw, did you read the description esp. Square Enix's statement? like i said, you might want to call SE "liar" if you don't believe them
still, they're different, not only with the scenes, but the design/detail of the objects. and that's exactly the very point why i put the vids together, to make people realize that the tech demo was not the one at crisis core
and yeah you may call that "scripted animation" because you can't control the movements of the characters. those are common in RPGs. your man speaks and walks but you can't control him....still, the graphics weren't pre-rendered but rendered real-time because otherwise, the graphics should be as detailed as CG cutscenes
it isn't real-time as in you're in-control... but it's the graphics that are rendered real-time
"Remember Kill Zone 2 tech demo shenanigan? It turned out to be pre-rendered.... "
killzone 2 demo was supposed to be gameplay footage but SCEE revealed it was not real time but running off video
FF7 tech demo's case was different... it was not gameplay footage obviously, but a cinematic scene which was rendered real-time with PS3's specs. Square Enix said that. if you believe Square Enix or not, it's up to you
well, you may want to call Square Enix LIAR if you don't
Ok then now I see. Hadn't seen the CC one in a while and could only remember the aerith parts which are pretty much symmetrical. I forgot about when he says "Cloud first class soldier" etc. as opposed to him jumping off the train. My bad on that one <.<.
But one thing I must ask is why they rendered the two aerith scenes differently, to my vision they are exactly the same.
too bad i cut the part before aeris/aerith stands up. it would have shown (close up) the difference between her hair on the two versions, with her crisis core hair being more detailed (because it's pre-rendered)
the tech demo scene was created specifically for ps3's real-time graphic rendering power.
the crisis core scene was created specifically as a (pre-rendered) cgi cutscene/movie to be played on psp.
i still think its the same...i could be wrong...but i saw everything...well i think the reason the vid in crisis core didnt show where the train was goin was cuz not everyone that played the game...has played final fantasy 7...and they didnt want to show them whats gonna happen next...a cliff hanger...but yea i would love a remake of ff7...as long they dont change any of the story line...
the two are like live action movies but were shot at different times, modified props and wardrobe, and different actors.
cloud from the tech demo look different from cloud in crisis core. and some objects (like clothes, car, smoke) look different between the two versions.
I would point out the Tech Demo 1 looked almost like the graphics in Advent Children. Cause Cloud looked the same from the movie and the demo by facial looks.
COOL ninjutsu--i saw you talking about this on another vid so i thought id check it out--its intresting to see them both together. i wonder what id would be like to see them two AND the original ffvii sequence all at the same time XD
i just wanted the likes of you to realize that the ff7 tech demo for ps3 is REAL and that it is NOT the crisis core cutscene at the end.

square enix, gamespot, gamespy, ign. they all feautured the tech demo dating back in 2005. so they're morons?
to quote what SQUARE ENIX said about the demo:
We were also very happy to showcase a technical demonstration of FINAL FANTASY VII in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment. Thanks to the PLAYSTATION 3s powerful Cell processor our acclaimed classic has never looked better.
calm down man, maybe most realize its not Crisis Core, but because the tech demo was done 2 years prior, its obvious that the tech demo became the basis for the video in crisis core, they even tweaked the color and resolution of the sign zooming out etc, and changed train scene to be more dramatic for the lead in to ff7, ONCE again im not saying its CRISIS CORE, just that the tech demo was what the basis for the next gen ff7 part in crisis.
Actually I just don't want my comments left on a douchebags video, and pick yourself up a dictionary and look up 'hypocrite'. I wont be responding any longer as I have realized like almost everyone else that you are a waste of time, goodbye and good luck being a douche with no life forever.

The team who did the rendering where something to do with Crisis Core though seen as it mentions them in the credits.
The tech demo was made before the PS3 was released. It was based upon similar software the PS3 would have. So to say that it's not CG is simply stupid. Seen as on or off the PS3 it's still CG.
yes ps3 wasn't released yet during the E3 conference in 2005. The actual PS3 console wasn't present but demonstrations of some games were made possible using systems with specifications similar to PS3.
and it looks like you contest those who witnessed it first hand.

Yahoo Games / Gamespot:
"Final Fantasy VII "Technical Demo for PS3," a re-creation of the original CGI intro for Final Fantasy VII rerendered in real-time for the PS3 hardware."
well of course theyre not the same exact thing. but it was probably based on it. that's not even my point! i read somewere that they did an interview and they said that is was just to show the graphics of the ps3 not a trailer for a remake

its not that much different
and you know, all the demos from when they showed off ps3 around the time of this ff7 tech demo were pre-rendered

they're pretty much just scripted animations...

crisis core was released in 2007.
no, i'm not saying there's a remake. i'm just proving that the ff7 tech demo is REAL and is NOT from crisis core.

square enix also released a statement regarding the successful demo.

First, sorry for my poor english.
During years I heard that they was making a new FF VII, since PS2, but 'til today nothing.
I think more problably this video be a extended version form Crisis Core ending than the new FF VII.
But, honestly, I hope that I be wrong!
jhonnythekiller 3 years ago
nope. it's not an extended version of the crisis core ending. the demo came out in 2005. crisis core came out in 2007.
if the demo's just an extended version of crisis core, it should have included the 'dialogue' and the 'cloud on top of the train' scene.
just like i said, the demo came out in 2005 during the e3 conference. it's the remake of the ORIGINAL FF7 intro, but this time, it's real-time.
have you seen the ORIGINAL FF7 intro? the one on ps1.

more than 50% are different esp. the second half.
in the ps3 demo, camera zooms in. it shows the train without cloud until cloud jumps off in the end.
in crisis core, camera doesn't zoom in. it shows cloud on top of the train and he speaks some words. he's standing in the end.
little differences? or probably you didn't watch this video till the end.

Don't forget that only the opening cutscene (FMV) was remade, not the actual game.
The power of PS3 is displayed not just by the quality of the cinematic cutscenes, but primarily, the quality of the in-game graphics (real-time).
You don't buy a PS3 just to watch the cutscenes, but to be blown away by the superior graphics in the actual game.
