  • hahahahahahahahahaha this is great!!

  • I actually learned something! Thanks :) lol

  • it's a good video..but you repeat ur self waaaay too often...other wise good job :)

  • free replay button 0:00

  • Thank you! This cleared up my question "Which one should I buy= i5 or i7?". I'm getting the i7 cause it's mo betta fasta!!!

  • Ironically, you're using all these tactics to make your video shorter, yet your random repeating of yourself, stupid helium voice and what not make the video longer....

    failmuch?

  • You look like a young George Lopez

  • most annoying video every. offcause the i7 is better if they are at the same speed

  • this guys annoying.

  • what would these tasks be?

  • You look like George Lopez! lol

  • ur annoying dude

  • So is there any difference in gaming between these intels?

  • @opli852 imo, in this case between the i5-750 and the i7-920, I would go with the i7-920 nowadays, because more and more games are taking advantage of multiple cores

  • @xSoftwareTutorialsx until bulldozer cometh, and return the favor ...? :)

  • will u teach me IT bcuz my teacher does not Shiiiiiiiiit

  • video was good, but the icon was scary lol

  • @FHSiNSaNiiTy changed it to a less scary one, :)

  • Thanks!

  • i like d('-')

  • You obviously do not understand the mind of a techy

  • @NocredRS Amd does not suck.

  • i5 has HT its just locked. However, on some system you can enable it through the bios.

  • @NocredRS You sir, are an idiot. Intel 1090T for under $200? That's just a bargain, and it runs as faster then the i7 in gaming. You just wait for Bulldozer. AMD will be wiping Intel's blood off the floor.

  • Dude funny!!! thx for the explanation. Can you say "Max Headroom" (look it up if you don't know who he is)

  • @coultam thanks, your welcome...haha, yes i do know, haha

  • Well done. Now I actually understand the difference. Thanks.

  • The video was interesting until the squeaking noise..

  • Yeah great Movie dude! Thumbs up!

  • Fricking great Movie dude! Thumbs up!

  • Intel sucks...AMD rocks

  • @MrPinto1970 hmmm... i dont think were talking about AMD ( Always Made Defective ) cpu's. Thanks buddy cya on a AMD video. I will troll there. :)

  • If you want to shorten the video just cut the first minute useless.

  • This guy looks like he is about to kick a phat rap 4 us.

  • intelligent man with much to share...but the excessive interuptions were like a public schooled problem child...with attention seeking behavior..wasting everyones time in a private acadamy school ..congrats...ive never wrote up a feedback till now..get a job at disneys electronic dept...and everyone will be happy... respectfully!

  • @realbigfeets

I suppose any tech info can get boring very easily,(at least to me) but because of his unusual way, I watched it to the end, did understand and even had a laugh.

  • That was annoying but instructive.

  • Benzkohlee, you explained that so effectively. You should put out your own CBT's man, kudos to you!

You kept my attention, was funnay as shit and at the end of the video I repeated out loud the differences between the two. You are an amazing teacher ! Your a fucking ground breaking, benchmark setting, Epic, Dragon Slayer, Rockstar status video making son of a bitch! \m/

  • Which one do you think is better for gaming and a bit of programming ? Thx

  • @mshiva1373 Where gaming is concerned, HT is not very useful right now but in the future it might be as games get more complex they will probably need the extra thread bandwidth. For right now though HT is good if you are multitasking, watching a video and downloading stuff and playing a game etc. all at the same time. HT though is really a future technology which will be of more use in future programs as more and more applications can use HT. Therefore i would go with i5 for now.

  • Which one is better for gaming ?

  • @mshiva1373 i7!

  • it comes down to personnel choice the amd 1090t will play games just as good as the i7 but alot less cheeper

but as well depends on what video card you have

  • @mshiva1373 your fine with an i5 if all ur worried about is gaming. i doubt you'll be running a bunch of different games on the same pc at the same time. of course as the future is inevitable, new games, will require more and more cores to be able to run properly. for now, i7 is basically if your going to be, like he said in the video, watching a movie, while surfing the web, while running different programs, etc.

  • @mshiva1373 i7 ofc

  • loved the chris tucker impression at 3:18 ....nice review bro

  • Stop coffe man

  • Very funny!

  • i got the i5 760 cuz im cheap

  • is that george lopez?

  • Okay. i get it now :D

  • Nice slang and nice video , should seriously use this video to explain to those idiotic amd fan boys who insists that a amd processor is as great as a intel processor with hyper threading , and that intel is trying to extort them by making them pay more money for nothing.

  • CANADA LOL.

Any way , i liked to watch thise video.

    i got core i7 930. ;)

  • So funny and great explanation! Amazing! Thanks

  • @milosgbg Thanks for sharing! :)

  • i watched it and it was watchable for cause u uploaded

    thumbs up

  • @izhan22 Thanks!

  • @haiti1800 afaik, there is nothing like a "Mac 8 Core" in reality. imo its a marketing term created by Apple. It has a server mother board sporting two 4-core Intel Xeon E5620 @ 2.40GHz. And similarly the "Mac 12 Core" has a server motherboard sporting two 6-core Xeon X5650 @ 2.67GHz. The Xeons used to be the best in terms of raw benchmarks. Currently, the king of the benchmarks is the i7-995. But, you can't use i7 processors in dual processor motherboards, that way the Xeons are "better".

  • lol, you act kinda weird but even my grandma understands what hyper threading is!

  • @multishot12 Thanks for sharing! :)

  • I don't know where you got your info from but it's wrong. The Intel Core i5's have Hyper-Threading, just go to intel's site for proof. Another thing is the Core i5 isn't a Quad Core, it's a Dual Core. If that was the case then the Core i7 would be Hexa Core. Hyper-threading doesn't make a CPU have another Core, it's a temporary data lane that allows extra data to pass through a Core when a Cores resources isn't being fully used.

  • @SteelCity1981 in fact, the i7 980x IS a hexa core :d

  • @multishot12 oops i meant 8 core

  • @SteelCity1981 this video refers to the i5-750 which is a quad core without hyper-threading. afaik, other anomalies in the i5 series are the i5-760, and the i5-750s which are also quad cores without hyper-threading.

  • I got a Asus N61 with an i7 processer and i have been having alot of trouble with it. one day the processer decided that it wasnt gona work anymore so i could only use the very minimum power out of it. I emailed asus they suggested a os recovery. I did the recovery, the i7 processer worked just long enough for me to think it was fixed and then yesterday it decided to stop again. Words cannot explain not explain how mad i am at intell for making such comeplete shit. Unless mine is a melon..

  • when i first clicked this i thought it was going to be crap... but its been Very informative and thanks for the help!

    very enjoyable :)

    -peace

  • @IADIDashMan Thanks for sharing, made my day :)

  • you sound like forest gump

  • I liked your review lol... nice ehe

  • @msend Thanks! :) Please check out my "knowbyte" channel for more videos in this style. And if you like my style please subscribe. Thanks for your support!

  • so the dual core only handles 2 apps at the time?

  • nice way of explaining it in layman terms, and now and then it was genuinely funny, but for the most of it I wanted to scream SHUT UP!!!

  • so annoying.

  • very nice review....

  • @lexam55 Thanks!

  • @lexam55 amazing man

  • I don't know if I should go for a Sony VAIO E series with Core i3, or a Sony VAIO F series with Core i5...

  • @ColdingoVich read my blog on some anamolies between the processor lines, that may help you in making the right decision. benzkohlee.blogspot.com

  • Hi benzkohlee i have a question and i know it might be a noob question cuz i am a noob at this..which one would you reccomend to buy i3, i5 or i7 just to play World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2?? thank you

  • @hotn3z For gaming, if I went with the i3, I would go with the i3-5xx series, if I went with the i5, I would go with any of them except the i5-xxxUM series, on a lappy the i5-520M and I5-540M would be cool, and in the i7 line, I would stay away from the i7-xxxUM line, all the othes are cool. Ultimately, I would go with the best cpu I can afford, taking into consideration the above. Check out my other channel "knowbyte" for more tech vids. And if you like my style please subscribe. Thanks!

  • Couldnt watch guy to annoying

  • If the price was the same, i7 is better. What this video does not clearly say is that software mus support HT. If it does not support it (which is majority now) then no difference. But the price difference is 2 times. No reason to buy comp. for 1000 with i7 if you can buy i5 for 500. By the time your i5 is old, you will buy something enterely new for another 500. And I don't think it will be old much earlier than i7.

  • @xleft116 there is ambiguity among people on this...and as far as my research on the MS and Intel websites, XP onwards multiple-threaded-processing is supported. So, for example, even though Wordpad, or Notepad are not multi-threaded apps individually, if Wordpad and Notepad were to need the processor at the same time, the XP Home OS (onwards and above) will utilize the hyper-threading feature, as if the physical processor had two cores, and distribute the threads between the two virtual cores.

  • @benzkohlee: Oh my god, This is very cool, indeed. I actually bought myself i7 at the end of the day. LOL. Yes, at first I thought i5 is better value for money. But Dell in UK had 100 pounds off. And i7 CPU is now somewhat cheaper than before. I also got GTX-460 which is rarely available with i5. Anyway, even if I overpaid 50-100 pounds overall for i7 machine, there are strong chances that it will come back to in the form of this computer staying "modern" for 1-2 additional years. Thx for reply!

  • funnily but nicely explained...

  • @burzum83 Thank you!

  • hahah your annoying an informative at the same time....im intrigued...you did a good job sir.

  • @icyhot669 Thank you sir!

  • hahahahaha

  • i have a i5 760. no regrets.

it performece much better than my old core 2 duo e6750 in games like badcompany 2 and left 4 dead 2. and gta iv is now playable.

i have read some reviews and the i5 750 is even better than the i7 920 on gaming (just a little. not too much). maybe your video is to old. i5 quad core is a great procesor and is not as expensive as some core i7

  • @froasakura thats only at stock speed when you put overclocking in the mix the i7 920 pawns it i had had the 980x and well i wouldnt regret buying that .

  • @haiti1800 Thanks! Here are the answers (IMO) for your two questions:

    1) If you mean the HD xxxx series graphics built into the 2010 Intel Core processors, then no. They enhance 2D graphics well, like Blu-Ray movies, High Definition videos, and 3D graphics for older games, but not for the latest games.

    2) You should go with the best you can afford. The i7-8xx series is great for gaming compared to any i5 series processors currently, and they are also competitively priced and future proof.

  • which one is better for gaming?

  • @coolquis1997 IMO the i7-8xx series offers the best gaming performance bang for your buck, currently.

  • @benzkohlee ok thanks

  • @coolquis1997 get the i5, the only difference is Hyper-threading which is insignificant for gaming. Even something like an i3 is fine if you have a good VGA card because that's what matters the most.. the graphics card.

  • @Khomitsar exactly,no need in getting the i7,the i5 is pretty much the same. The really important thing is the graphics card,as you said.

  • This guy really simplify alot of things. Lol, if someone still can't get what he trying to say. That person got to punch himself in the face.

  • @hellowsaw lol

  • so basically the i5 can only run 4things at a time like itunes game video edit and web browser after that it crashes basically ?

  • @Ri1seAgainst

Uh, no, but it can handle 4 threads really well.

It's a lot of processing power and it's smart.

  • Wouldn't you end up with 8 processors that are each half as powerful as the actual 4 are individually though? =P Just wondering.

  • @SilverJigProductions its not power, its responsiveness. A waiter who refuses to take any more orders until the order which he has already taken is fulfilled vs. a waiter who keeps on taking orders regardless of his previous orders are fulfilled or not. The latter waiter (hyperthreading) is going to seem more responsive. Meanwhile, the clients of the former waiter are going to feel as if they don't exist, because he/she refuses to take their orders until the previous orders are fulfilled.

  • @benzkohlee Ahhh, I get it now. =] Thanks.

So if I'm playing games like StarCraft 2 and Bad Company, do I really need a i7 or should I just save my $100 and get a i5? D=

  • @FullFledged2010 This is straight forward.

  • lol dude fully entertaining :) cracked me up, nice explained hyperthreading too! good shit XD

  • @BooMorZ Thanks so much for sharing!

  • your not as black as you think

  • @rosco4360 sometimes its comments like these that are encouraging. As much as I am a techie, what many people who don't read my channel profile don't know, I am also an actor. This is one of my many characters mostly based on Forrest Gump, and some other well done Southern accents done by actors whose names I cannot recall. Its not perfect, but I have an affinity for the lazy "twang", especially the Texan twang, its music to my ears. :) if you can understand that.

  • hahahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!!! this was ace! You should be a teacher/lecturer.

  • @secretblueangel thanks for sharing your laughter. At some point in my life, I wanted to be a teacher/lecturer professionally, but things took a different turn, so I am on youtube.

  • @benzkohlee ah well this was great, you're good at explaining things!

  • @secretblueangel Please tell everyone you know who would appreciate this style of explaining/teaching...I have a feeling there are a lot of people who are so puzzled by tech jargon but bored to death by the conventional way of explaining things (I am one of them) that they probably don't even bother clicking on my video, thinking, oh this is probably yet another boring tech video. Thanks for your support! Every tiny bit counts.

  • dude, u forget that if u have hyper threading it may say yes to another job buy it does it half as fast as if it had 8 cores..so in the end hyper threading isnt a big deal.

  • @Udamasta its not cut and dry like that. There could be different scenarios depending on the way the processor is busy. For example, if the processor is waiting for the GPU (with a complex task) to return info. Without hyper-threading, it would keep on waiting until the GPU responded, and that would have other simpler tasks stuck. With hyper-threading, it may end up finishing many simpler tasks, that would have otherwise been waiting too. Ultimately make the system seem more responsive.

  • @benzkohlee yes definitely for a lot of simple tasks the i7 would be superior. but like my opinion is that if ur doing tasks big enough to tie of 4 cores at full power than hyper threading isn't gonna help much. And lol if that happened with ur gpu yes i'de be a little disappointed....honestly i didn't watch ur whole video so idk if u said anything about integrated graphics they both dont have it...alot of people have a major beaf about that. Or some of the older ones have it i forget

  • love the editing dude,

this vid is hilarious and informative! keep up the good work =D

  • @badboy7576 nice to have my hard work appreciated like that. thanks for the love!

  • The answer is neither. AMD Phenomx6 1090t :D

  • @FinancialProdigy202 That's a great processor for a great price.

  • Best part 1:22- 1:37

  • who win the pize:

    you and the annoying orange

  • @alandanweiss omg, being compared to the "annoying orange", such an honor. Now if my vids could only get the millions of views that his do.

  • GREAT VIDEO EDITING !!! LIKE IT.

  • @SIMON23196 thanks! I play other characters, including the indian guy (a couple of them), an arab guy, a french guy, a german guy, a rtard (as opposed to retard) :P who is the real me? btw a reminder, all my tech videos will be posted on my other channel, knowbyte, where you will also find hundreds of training videos. Recently uploaded comparison of the 3.2 Ghz i processors (i3,i5 and i7), and i am working on a video comparing the intel to the amd processors too.

  • @SIMON23196 Thank you!

  • you are a phenomenon dude

  • @sexymintstick thanks.

  • Phenom II

  • Dont you mean 8 threads... >.> because the extra 4 threads is HT.

  • Less talking more reviewing.

  • hahaha! nice vid!... very informative as well thanks!

  • @carrotsRgood4you your welcome.

  • so hmm ok my gaming pc broke and i don't really know much about computers and all but i want to get another gmaing pc and i got my eye set on one with i5 650 processor and I want to now is this i5 is better than what i had on my last pc intel core 2 quad q8300 2.5 ghz and another thing is AMD Phenom™ II X2 550 (3.1GHz also good ? I am confuced which one should I buy lol I know i7 must be better but there arent any pc in the shop with i7.

  • @sroRAGE Hi, according to some benchmarks your q8300 is the fastest, and then close behind comes the i5-650, and then way behind the Phenom II x2 550.

  • @sroRAGE Hi, according to some benchmarks your q8300 is the fastest, and then close behind comes the i5-650, and then way behind comes the Phenom II x2 550.

  • @benzkohlee Hi again xD thx for the reply. Well I bought the pc with i5 650 had it for 2 days and I wasn't happy xD it even froze on me lol so i returned it spend a little more money but I bought one with i7 860 2.8ghz which is probably not the fastest because i saw some i7 with9xx number lol but i7 is the way to go as soon as I click anything it pops up soo fast and games run great as well ty for the video funny simple and to the point ^^.

  • the constant speeding up and down is distracting and i couldn't finish watching the video. we're trying to understand, so obviously we're already interested. thanks for trying to teach, but teachers need to consider over-stimulation as much as under-stimulation.

  • lol sound like chris tucker, thanks for the vid.

  • well explained. You should be a teacher!

  • This must be the best explanation yet about the difference between i5 and i7 processors.

    I enjoyed watching this video.

  • @FullFledged2010 fuck that man i was both entertained and well educated if this was a Cnet article i would have board half way through.

good job man i learned a lot! but one question, the only reason a person like myself would get a i7 would be if they are gaming or running multiple applications at the same time? (im planing to use mine for Internet, word, streaming and downloading, occasional gaming)

  • @treetheoak Thanks for the appreciation! imo, the i7-9xx series would be overkill for your needs (Internet, word, streaming and downloading, occasional gaming)...in a nutshell, i would suggest going for the best i5 or i7-8xx that you can afford if your occasional gaming is important, else I would suggest one of the i3-5xx series processors. I have a video in the works comparing the i3, i5, and i7 series that may clear out some questions about what these processors have to offer.

  • @benzkohlee i look forward to it, i still got lots of time before i buy my computer but the Sony Vaio's look pretty good and affordable, plus i hear good things about Sony.

  • Good job dude!

  • The gimmicks in this video will appeal to those who have ADD. Normal people will be annoyed. The underlying info is sound and useful, it's just presented in an extremely annoying fashion.

  • cool lol

  • @FullFledged2010 For people who have overcome the inertia and don't want to be edutained, there are tons of sites that give you info "boring and stragithforward" style.

  • @benzkohlee you know what your right.

  • @FullFledged2010 Now if I was an accountant, or a physicist or chemist I might not appreciate the entertaining part, because I would have overcome the inertia (fear) one faces when approaching a new subject thanks to my education, and just want the info to get my work done pronto. These video series are aimed at the novice, the layman, the person who has not overcome their inertia of tech knowledge, but wants to learn so they can increase the value of their life.

  • @benzkohlee its not just about you but its hard to find serious and "lame" (which i like) reviews that are just focused on the product itself. yes i am a nerd who likes his info clean and need. but your info is right and it was actually funny so no offence

  • @FullFledged2010 I can't remember the last time I picked up the Tax book, or the Physics book, or the Chemistry book etc...In my view of the world, if those books tried to be entertaining and informative at the same time, I would pick them up more often and probably increase the value of my life.

  • Comment removed

  • funny :D you show 10 fingers when you say four cores :P

  • i7 ...

    100 %

  • Very funny. well explained. Appreciate it.

  • @benzkohlee Thats cool *THUMBS UP* ;D

  • meh 4 cores plus ht isnt really needed for me imo i5 is perfect unless you want mega performance.

  • Excellent explanation, and appreciate the effort you put into this. Those giving a thumbs down are I imagine personality challanged - pathetic!

  • Hyperthreading only increases performance marginally by task switching when waiting on memory. On Socket 478 machines we only saw a 15% boost tops, sometimes a -5% performance hit. Those were old machines with slow memory with 1 core. With triple channel fast memory on an i7 machine, the processor is going to spend less time in wait states on memory, plus o maybe at tops when all cores are loaded you'll get a 10% boost. Most of the time you'll see no boost at all with cores free.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHA. funny guy:)

  • is the intel core i5-430 good for only editing??

  • Brilliant, Going for i7, Thanks Dude!

  • Hilarious :).. maybe you can write the script down for "England" and "Aussie" LOL .. you did fine man ... wonder what the French, Italians and Germans think ?

  • you could have EDITED the video instead of just speeding-up almost 80% of the video, and therefor making it extremely boring -_-

    -the song is good ;D

  • Could have been a good explanation if funny part would have been avoided. Please keep in mind peopel don't speak the same accent in englnd or Australia. The humor goes flat and sounds more like anoying giberish stuff. Take this as constructive cristisism.

  • @ecute13 Thanks for the comment. I consider my self an artist, and all of my videos pieces of art. The characters I use are paint brushes, their accents are the colors, and what they are saying are the lines, curves, strokes on the canvas....And just like any other piece of art, not everyone will appreciate it. Is it then fair to tell an artist to not paint in color because you are color blind and cannot appreciate what it adds to the painting?

  • I thought all the i series processors had hyperthreading. And i still do... i3 i5 two cores plus hyperthreading so quad 4... i7 4 cores plus hyperthreading so technically 8.

  • @xxsekoxx Thanks for the comment. According to Intel the i5-750 does not have hyper-threading, and therefore shows up as only 4 cpus, and not 8 in Task Manager in Windows.

  • @xxsekoxx right most i5s have 2 cores and 4 hyperthreads. however the i5 750 has 4 cores and 4 hyperthreads, i7 has 4 cores and 8 hyperthreads.

  • yay! im having fun while learning which one should i buy :D
