  • small timing issues but that kid has expression, thumbs up, keep the spirit of squaresoft alive. :)

  • I dont care if people call me nerd but this is real art...!

  • As a person who truly thinks that there is nothing better than sitting down to a good RPG (as some other people i know), and as a person who has played and loved every final fantasy the game chrono cross was a step above the rest in many aspects from story to gameplay and by far the music is top notch. So why don't all of you involved in the making of the game just give yourself a pat on the back.

  • I dont know why ppl say CC isnt related to CT either you havent played CC entirely or just missed alot of the plot just to finish off the game. Each and every dialogue had lots of hints that showed plots of chrono trigger. The character Guiles was MEANT to be magus but soft didnt want that cos it would ve taken more time to create another story for Magus s role in CC .So they made him Magus in disguise.

  • Chrono Cross (クロノ・クロス, Kurono Kurosu?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the PlayStation video game console. It is the sequel to Chrono Trigger, which was released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Chrono Cross was developed primarily by scenarist and director Masato Kato and other designers from Chrono Trigger, including art director Yasuyuki Honne and composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Nobuteru Yūki is the character designer.

  • una de las melodias que me gusta mucho... thnx buddy

  • Riklesh....

    Non ti dimenticherò mai...

  • GODLIKE

  • I srsly fell in love with this guy the first time I heard him play. He is amazing <3

  • I wish for chrono cross remake, AND don't change the music.

  • @mychiilist don't change anything. making a remake of a classic can never end well. the game is perfect as it is, there's no need for a remake.

  • Wow, that cello sounds amazing.

  • Anytime I hear this song. It brings tears. It just sounds so bittersweet.... Makes me feel nostaligic. Such an amazing game.

  • I so want play Chrono Cross again U.u

  • Ништяк...

  • Loving the cello. ^.^

  • @fabschanyaw

Might I direct your attention to the "related videos" sidebar?

  • Замечательное исполнение.

  • Замечательное исполнение.

  • OMG THIS SONG IS SO FAMILIAR but idk where its from:(((( i used to listen to this song so much when i was in 3rd grade..sigh.. the old days

  • Chrono Cross for Playstation 1

  • simple amazing

  • One of, if not the best, version of 'Radical Dreamer' I've heard on Youtube. It would truly amazing to have seen them in person playing this~

  • Damnit i was at Otakon 2007 in baltimore and i didnt see this

  • I remember when Hiro, Lead violinist as well as Head of the Group eminence was outside the Japanese Book shop playing this Solo to promote the concert :3

  • after watching this. I nearly started to cry. These young adults performed this song from the heart. Its beautiful. CC best game ever. I don't care what people say. I still play this game to this day. I does shows pits an peices of info from CT. No FF game can ever come this good. Not even the current games that are coming out.

  • lol after watching another vid of eminence playing this in a concert hall, i can't help but notice how different the acoustics of the rooms affect the song... nonetheless awesome performance!

  • Good music but like Fable 2, chrono cross only made me nostalgic for the original.

  • chrono saga hoping for the best

    (meaning for another chrono)

    the perfect silent protaganist

  • false. That battle style was brand-new in that moment. That was awesome. One of a lot of things in the saga. (CT and CC). Of course, try to compare CC against FFXIII, it means a lot of years in difference, but take a look at the battle style. It is something similar. And apparently, we cannot release a new game because of copyrights. The people who made this game now are working at different companies.

  • Apparently, they* cannot

  • honestly I don't really see the point of comparing CT to CC. They're not really related even though CC was sort of hyped as the sequel to CT and many of us were disappointed to find that it was definitely not. Essentially they're independent games both with great storylines and great music. It'd be like comparing Zelda and CT, both very fun with great music, but they're different.

  • well i can see ur point chrono cross is a good stand alone game but, if u pay attention to certain things in the story u can see how they are connected. guile is magus, rescueing schala, the girl on gaea's naval looking like ayla, the ghosts at the end of the game in chronopolis, crono nadia and lucca, kid being schala's clone, and so on. chrono cross is not the original sequel to CT tho radical dreamers is but it failed so they made chrono cross, i hoped this has made things clearer.

  • @tiftmasta that's silly.. it's like comparing zelda and CT? hell no. CT and CC still shares quite a few threads. It would be more like comparing Zelda: Ocarina of Time with Zelda: Twilight Princess. Every Link in a new Zelda is a new Link. Same with CT and CC, it's not CT2, it's CC. New better story with more depth but in a new universe.

  • @Sessan hot damn, I wrote that like a year ago. Someone likes reading youtube comments it seems. I have probably forgotten a lot, but I don't remember too much similarity between CC and CT enough to justify the sequel hype. It's the same way I feel about how Bioshock was the "sequel to System Shock" when it really wasn't. They did share many gampelay similarities though like the Zelda series despite the fact that characters/universe are/is technically changing.

  • @tiftmasta CC would never have existed if it werent for the plot of Schala and Magus in CT.Which explains Kid's existence in CC.And the time devourer.(almost spoiler) Potential gamers dont want to be spoiled further .But if you play every single part of the game you will realise it is actually a sequel to chrono trigger.Just cos its a diffrent dimension does not mean its not related to Chrono trigger at all.According to official fact CC is a sequel to CT.

  • @Ryuuusa I guess I hadn't gotten to that part of the game. I stand corrected.

  • both comments below me are true :D. both games were awesome!

  • best ending theme ever, it SOUNDS like its ending something, even when youre not watching the ending to the game

  • FUCKING LOVE IT!! The piano was soft but yet, powerful. From 2:12 on, i luv it. this song is so touching. This is by far, one of my most favorite videos on you tube!!!! thx for posting it!! <3 <3 <3 <3

  • I agree that the piano part is powerful without being loud. I've heard performances where the piano volume increases to try to make it sound more passionate, which doesn't always work

  • one of my fav Mitsuda songs

  • Hermosisima!!!

  • wow, i love this sng, i love the game chrono cross

  • chrono cross was superior imo. while trigger is an amazing game and has awesome characters, i found cross had much more emotion and depth to its plot, and gave the feeling of an epic story being told through visuals.

the gameplay was also more fun and the music is just plain incredible (as seen above). while i love chrono trigger to death and agree it's an awesome game, i don't think anything can compare with the chrono cross. it's a masterpiece in my eyes.

  • I agree. 100%

I preferred Cross's music as well.

    So beautiful.

    Yasunori Mitsuda is pure genius.

I must say, I never tire of playing CC.

  • @Besil Except for that weird final boss :P Chrono Trigger made more sense, but Chrono Cross was a great audiovisual experience, and did feel very epic.

    Fox.

  • @Besil Same here! I agree so much. I replayed Cross so much, it's not even funny. I have been a huge fan of Yasunori's work since the game came out and I've never stopped loving the game and the music.

  • @Besil Well Chrono cross IS a masterpiece majorly thanks to Chrono trigger. So I would in turn say Chrono Trigger was a masterpiece to begin with.Chrono cross too. Both are so UNIQUE!

  • True, CC was a disappointment for me too, too many characters, lacking storyline (or rather, it wasn't presented well enough aside from the beginning and the ending). However, the music was GOD.

  • BTW this performance is beautiful. Esp. the violin, for a minute it even made me forget that the original was sung! :)

  • I wish the would've played the version with the woman singing.

  • I like this song a lot.. but i think they need to practice it more 'cuz the time goes up and down.. it start very good but gets to fast.. still pretty good..

  • I'm sorry you got so many thumbs down man! even though he gets a great sound out of the violin, I have to agree, it kind of feels off beat some times, although classical music has a lot of stuff that isn't exact, and the result sounds very good.

    Fox.

  • doesn't it amaze you people, after almost ten years this game and ALL of its soundtracks still stands out in an age of rappers and pop-rocks?

    three cheers for square!

  • na uh, three cheers for yasunori mitsuda=)

  • @akiraguy well u just cant beat music that has a soul no matter how long or what the trend is real beauty is timeless i get the feeling that the guy who made it really put their hearts into making something worthy of utmost respect and hell this came from a video game of all things ^^

  • @akiraguy

not square, but Yasunori Mitsuda. he deserves all the credits for the OST, no square nor any of its staff. yes it was from the golden age of squaresoft, but its a masterpiece made only by yasunori mitsuda himself. nobody else has anything to do with this song.

cheer for mitsuda, not square. the old good one is dead. what we have now is a mercenary.

  • I wanna see them live... But regardless of seeing them live, they're still amazing! :)

  • man..this song is just too beautiful! the way they play it, the way it sounds, its just...AMAZING!!! People and music like this is what inspired me to pick up the violin! The pianio player is more than great, the celloist is so soothing, and the violinist is amazing! Truly one of the greatest peices of ALL time!!!

  • omg its so beauty on violin

  • すごい *-*

  • ouch... my heartstrings... *sniff*

  • Perfect. <3 The violin is even more beautiful then the original song itself was.

  • I agree.

    It's so beautiful.

  • This never gets old. The moment the violin strikes in, my heart skips a beat... damn this is definitely one of the best...

  • me encanthu ermosoo muchasz grasiias

  • Oh... my... god... this is just incredible. I mean seriously, that violin just made a beautiful song sound even more beautiful. I seriously am awestruck by the sheer beauty of this arrangement. Definitely my new favorite video on all of YouTube.

  • I haven't seen so many awsome comments ona youtube page in soo long, everyone here is here because they appreciate and love something worth appreciating. Very refreshing to see....This is a beautiful song, amazingly well done composition, I loved Chrono Cross and this brings back soo many great memories, for me. And I get the feeling all of you feel the same way too....it feels good, sorry if that sounds real lame but yeah....

  • BEST .... SONG... EVER!

  • Thank you SO much, MasterLL!!! And Tomoyo, of course :) My favorite part of this has to be from about 3:12 or so to the end of the song, when the violin and cello play in sync. *slow breath* So, so, beautiful :') (<--smiling with tears in eyes. Sorry if that's a little gay, lol) Anyway, thanks again!

  • Even the greatest warlords and warriors in the history of the human race had their battlesongs. If there is one thing able and allowed to move every man, it is music.

  • Shit! the violin does wonders to my ears...

  • OMG ^^

  • Someone please convince me why I should keep playing chrono cross. I just got to termina and it's not grabbing me. That and the combat sucks.

  • you may not believe me, but you can try and restart the game you might see something you have missed and be grabed into the story more... honestly though the game is not for everyone.

  • I know that everything you do currently effects what happens in the future in that game. The fighting style is chitty if you don't understand it. The story grabbed me when I had to kill the Hydra and destroy the forest to save kid. There's alot of replay value. Really,it's not for everyone. I just love a great story. And the Final Fantasy series kinda got boring after beating 4,5,6,7,9, and half of 8.(8 was insanely boring but 9 is marvelous.) Crono Trigger & Cross are good alternatives

  • your right about chrono cross not being for everyone but *gasp* how could you say that about ff8. i know everyone has their own opinion but damm

  • To hear this song. It's worth it. >_>

  • The story is a little slow at first. It does start to pick up in Termina, so be patient. You can take three paths in Termina, it's one of the first times in the game the storyline splits.

  • it gets better, wait until you get to the dead sea and chronopolis

  • i mean chrono cross!

  • All three are among my top5 favorite rpgs of all time. ^^

  • Suikoden 1 and 2!!!!!

  • Wow. I was at this performance. It was damn amazing.

  • amazing!

  • lo mejor!!!!!!

  • Erm.. I have no idea why I said that oO This is Chrono Cross.

But yeah, awesome game! I'm playing Lunar 2: Eternal Blue now actually, I <3 it. Got the Collector's Edition in perfect condition, I are so happy :D

  • I love this song. It's my favorite song!

  • omg i'm gonna cry so beautiful!

  • This has moved me beyond words. I think I'm gonna rip some mp3s off these babies, if there aren't any available already. Awesome stuff!

  • the chrono series is definitely one of the best soundtracks ever composed in video game history. One thing I didn't like about this performance was that the violinist was waaay out of tempo. Either he was rushing or he just didn't know how to time it right..

  • Best Soundtrack : Chrono Cross and Breath of Fire 4

Favorite main char : Suikoden 2

Most touching story : Legend Of Mana

Biggest impression in my head : Lunar 2

Most memorable : Final Fantasy 6

Classics feel so much better than the games these days. All but Kingdom Hearts seem to suck.

  • Agreed. RPG's had so much magic back when they relied on characters and story to drive the player through, rather than convoluted magic systems and retardedly placed CG's that felt like a reward for trudging through bullshit.

Also, Kingdom Hearts? Kinda agreed. Loved the first one, but didn't really like the direction the second took. Have you played Shadow Hearts series at all? :D

  • I couldn't get my hands on the first Shadow Hearts, so I never started playing it... yet.

The same thing happened with Atellier Iris, and I'm totally clueless about whether Guilty Gear is a fighting game or an action-based RPG.

I'm okay with Kingdom Hearts 2, aside from the story that was inferior, the battle system was upgraded by a mile, it's pretty good compared to the stupid ATB system Square always implants in RPGs.

But Crisis Core doesn't strike me as much as Kingdom Hearts though...

  • agreed with you about chrono cross BOF 4 legend of mana ff vi they are incredibles aren`t they best bgm`s and story`s

  • Most touching story : Legend Of Mana

lolwut? legend of mana has no story...

  • Sorry i meant Legend of Legaia xD

I was waiting for people to point out this mistake.

and yes Legend of Mana does not have a story.

  • Legend of Legaia is one of the most underrated games ever. I really wish it's combat wasn't so dull, but everything else about it was top notch.

  • Its combat wasn't so dull. Cheer up, I like it.

  • Lunar and Suikoden! I love you.

  • XD You're talking about Lunar Silver story right?!

  • Actually I havent played Silver Star Story, Currently downloading the eboot for my PSP. But Lunar 2 was pretty well done. I loved it like crazy.

    I love Jean.

  • Buena cancion "Radical Dreamers" del famoso Juego "Chrono Cross"... trate y trate y nunka pude Voltear el juego me quede atascado! xD! Mela sea traigan eL "CC" en español

  • Maravilloso!!! *.* Eminence es genial y esa canción igual!!

  • Otakon ? as in the Otaku Convention that Otacon in Metal Gear Solid (1, 2 & 4) is named after ?

  • comic comic-con otaku otakon

  • Fantastic.

I don't generally much like violin players when they start out...

But when they get to a certain point, they are awesome...

This is one of those. =D

  • Sí, opino igual. De hecho hubiese preferido que la tocaran en guitarra como la original, pero igual se oye demasiado bien.

  • jrafael, Lunar 2 was way better than suikoden...

  • Sorry man...suikoden isn't as good as Chrono Cross (in my opinion) and Chrono Cross only loses to Legend of Mana. But Chrono Cross's soundtrack really is one of the best of all time.

  • You're absolutely right about Chrono Cross not being the best RPG for PS1. After all, nothing beats Valkyrie Profile.

  • hiroaki yura-san looked so dreamy when he played his violin :)

  • awesome...

  • men this video game has the best music of all time way !!!! better that any Final fantasy, and also the best rpg on ps one

  • fantastic

  • lovely...

  • truly an undying song... i find myself coming back to this song every now n' then. :D

  • Zutto.....

I can't get tired of Chrono Cross, the game is so amazing *sighs*

  • This is so amazing. If only i knew how to play it on piano myself.

  • AMAZYNG

  • i am so impressed with all the songs you play

  • SUENA MUY BIEN

  • Picked the OST off ebay for dirt cheap! 3 discs of goodness.

  • WOW!!!!! 0_0

    chrono cross...*sniff*

    -LokiHeart

  • i love this song <3

  • you made me cry.

    awesome///

  • Fantastic!

  • Wow! that's amazing they are very talented people and that song is one of my favorite game pieces <3

  • One of the best OST´s that i have listened. The music in this game is perfectly harmonized in each scene. I wish they play the Nikki´s song or the one of the battle aganaist Miguel/Dario ("people imprisoned by destiny").

  • Love this Song. So beautiful especially when these guys and gals played it... pianist was wonderful.

  • I always think about Kid,Serge, and Lynx everytime I hear this. I wonder what happened to them after the game....Now Im depressed.lol...And I miss my harle!

  • every time i listen to this song i cant stop thinking about me and where im gonna be in the future

  • cool, i learned this piece on piano first then guitar xD

  • i don't like their interpretation either. i think changing the guitar part to piano was quite a bad move. the sound of the guitar backing was supposed to be bright, lively, the piano made it unnecessarily dark. the violin part was very nicely played except that he should have held the sustain notes and played with the dynamics. it would sound nicer like that. imagine chocolate melting in your mouth to get a feel of what i'm saying for that part.

  • ugh i realise i posted something like this already earlier on -,-....

well, it's a cover and i respect that, but if you can't make it different and yet better, i'd rather you do it the same. it'll still sound nice.

  • ahm... I don't seem to understand why the piano over the guitar seemed bad to you... I think that the Eminence did a very good job, like always, but everyone have their own likes, so I respect, but disagree.

  • actually after listening to it a few more times, i've begun to like it. maybe it's the kind of thing that takes awhile to grow on you :)

  • the cd version is guitar

  • ahh dam it such memories.

    radical dreamers kicks ass

  • Great cover, but I dislike their interpretation, which feels rather rushed. Instead, it should feel relaxed and calming.

  • I agree, it does seem rushed

  • I agree

  • The violin part was played too fast for my liking. The piano instrumental was nice though.

  • sheer... awesomeness...

  • absolutely gorgeous cover... I wish I could see them perform live.

  • i agree completely, i would pay a stupid amount of money for tickets to see them

  • i think the violininst should have sustained a few of the notes just a bit longer, or ratehr did a very nice long decrescendo followed by a crescendo. i'm sure it sounds much nicer than a small bit of silence.

  • It's a cover, it's not meant to be the same.

  • In my opinion, the song is better as an instrumental. Though that's just my two cents.
