Go to the Tower Hobbies web site. They have the Savage X for $440, Monster GT for $410, and T-Maxx for $350. If you don't want to spend that much, a cool electric truck is the Stampede for $140. You'll have to buy a battery and charger for the Stampede, though, so it will probably be more like $200.

I would say go with a truck. A T-Maxx, Revo, Savage, etc. would be more versatile than a Jato. They are still pretty fast, too!

Get a 1/8th buggy. Strongest, fastest, best to jump and control. Jato will brake a lot if your looking to sky in often.

You can get a Monster GT or a Savage X for about $400 - $450 USD. Unfortunately, they're probably a lot more expensive in Australia. :(

first off sweet track and trucks man. where can you get that piping for the barriers around the track? i got a t-maxx 3.3 myslef. i upgraged it from a 2.5 to a 3.3. oh and the band playing is dream theater right? greast band. check out my videos 2.

Thanks a lot! You should be able to get that piping at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. It's just corrugated PVC piping. The new T-Maxx 3.3s are really nice. It looks like it's running pretty well in your video. You need to find a good track to run it on, though! And yeah, the band playing is Dream Theater.

The Savage and Hellfire are definitely some of the toughest trucks out there. I'd personally go with the Savage just because mine has been beaten to death but still keeps on going!

Thanks! One meter wide might be a little too narrow, but for electric it might not be so bad. It would definitely make things hectic. If you tried to run a few nitros on that narrow of a track you'll probably have quite a few wrecks. Try to make it about 2 meters wide if you can, but any track is better than none! Good luck.

sweet jumps if you go to your local feed store you can get some potassium nitrate farms use it on the driveways for snow melting it is in a crystal form spread it over the track and water it it will kill the grass for a long time- rock on dude

Thanks! Yeah, we were considering buying some to kill the grass but after we mowed the grass once and drove our trucks on it for a while, the grass was pretty much entirely dead.

Thanks! This was when we first got our track going for the year. We cut the grass really low after this video, and eventually after driving on it with the trucks it got worn down and the track was all dirt.

Don't go for the T-maxx, find a slightly used Revo 2.5 for around 350 and make sure it comes with everything you need to run it. There are usually pretty good deals on the internet.

And I believe this music is Dream Theather? They rule...

You could probably buy a used Revo (or something else) and do well with that, but you have to make sure that the person who owned it broke in the the engine correctly or else you'll have nothing but trouble with it. And yeah, this music is Dream Theater. I don't know why some people are saying the music sucks. It's awesome!

U can get a T-MAXX 2.5 for about 350$,But If u r new 2 RC , u r gonna pay for fuel,batteries,charger,repairs­. Get something cheaper or keep saving!The Traxxas nitro Stampede and sport go about 250 each.

unknown00102 your truck is fine.. any kind of radio frequency could possibly be jamming with your truck freq. avoid power lines cause of high voltage effecting your signal and areas where open freqs like taxi radio or police,boats etc. are common...

Not sure about the GT being quicker than the Sav. Me and my mate have the same STS.28 engine, mine in my Sav, his in a GT, and he always says how much quicker mine is. Wierd, but then the Sav is smaller, and less weight to get upto speed i guess

My GT is stock and the Savage is actually the original Savage with a .25 engine in it. That might explain the difference.

I agree with Arkansasbasher; you should probably look into either a Traxxas T-Maxx or one of the new Nitro Stampedes. They are both good trucks and will get you started in RC. You still have to go out and buy fuel, batteries, and a charger though, so you'll definitely go over $350 if you buy a T-Maxx. Not sure how much cheaper the Nitro Stampedes are.

The Savage isn't exactly a speed demon; I'd say its top speed is about 25-30. It's definitely a basher, though. We've done just about everything imaginable to that thing and it's still going strong!
