  • I have a difficult time watch Rudy preen over Nazimove, knowing what a cold hearted snob she was to him.

  • i like the one with greta garbo and robert taylor, that's the version that was in Annie

  • @vjgutierrez86 lo! that movie alerterd me to watch the Garbo-Taylor version too

  • @Fantageous alerted (will someone create an edit key for YT comment typo's)

  • I saw this in Annie and I fell in love with the little bits of this film they put in! Thanks so much for uploading!

  • This would be a much better film without Nazimova and her bizzare posturing and acting and Rambova's dumb designs. I like RV's hair without the "patent leather" look much better. Although we cannot see the detail, from what I have read, they left his natural curl alone and his hair was wavy, a look which he didn't like.

  • @msrudyfan you know this is the way most of us curlies feel..I hate my hair!! I hate my hair,,grrr!!! I wish it was straight!!..Mr V too felt this way? wow!! he is such a beauty eh!! I never knew he was a wavy!! he must have need ALOT of pomade dressing to get that "patent leather" look..ha ha well put!!

Valentino forever !! love that Rudy!!

  • @msrudyfan His hair did appear curly in the flashback sequence in "Cobra", and it suits him. The "slicker" look was the style for young men at the time--he didn't start it, but he helped popularize it. He is quoted as saying that if he didn't stay out of the sun, he would be as dark as a Negro--his word--he absolutely wasn't racist, but America was at the time and there was also prejudce against Italians--they were called mozzarella (N word). Maybe he thought curly hair would make it worse.

  • I just read something terribly sad -- the man playing Gaston died just two years after Valentino, also at the age of 31.

  • its so wonderful how the imagination worked than, and how interesting the set looked! the imaginations they had were fresh but always in vouge.

  • where can this be found to buy? i used to have it on VHS when they showed in via Cinemax years ago. I really want it again at least on DVD.

  • Totally awesome. Love it Now is it just me-- or does Camille say "talk to the hand" in the opening sequence.

  • The music at the opening credits was simply beautiful.

  • Thank you so much. REally. Thank you for uploading. Thank you.

  • Hard to believe Nazimova was 42years old in this. She was such a waif. Just a beautiful film, though, thanks.

  • @kellyanne57

Really? 42? Damn I wish I look that good when I'm that old.

  • Love the style of dress.Ah, those were the days.

  • That movie is almost 100 years old yet it is far more entertaining than many contemporary movies.

  • Yes @!!!!

  • Desh! I love this film. Alla Nazimova is toursing in this role. So perfect for her "mollebousque" build.

  • Great video clip and I've given you five stars. I've created a video clip featuring Alla Nazimova and many other 1920's movie stars.
