I love this album, took a listen or two to get that way (given their earlier material), but I think this is MILES better than their previous material. I kind of found this somewhere between MBV & Stone Roses (Garage Days album). If this were to have been released in the early/mid 90's, and (sadly) been a UK band, they would have been the biggest darlings on the NME. All us geezers in our late 30's/early 40's know the deal. Kudos.
their early material was the absolutely best.. w&k releases.. sealand is ok i guess.. but its almost migrated into a different genre and not the same awesome pure shoegaze as they used to be..
@Techx this is much more gaze than they used to be. they were more dreampop back in the winks & kisses daze... this is much louder. more feedback. everything about this is more gaze than winks & kisses. and im a big fan of that era. just telling you how it is.
@Techx Sealand was much different because Cory (the bassist in this vid) wrote and sang about half that album, so his songs had a different feel to them which made the whole album sound like it was going in a different direction.
I don't really know why? I just know that it was Cory and John's last show. Cory was kicked out of the band soon after this show and I believe John quit soon after he heard Cory was kicked out.
What EP is this song on?

Sealand is an awesome album. Well written and better performed, i think.
Call it progress. I think Sealand is heavier but certainly not a genre change!
The songs have have depth and feeling and i think its for the better myself.
