The horse is pretty cute, and may i please point out to you that circus animals are not all beaten it just depends on the trainer, they do not all suffer and not all forced. I think you are focusing on the negative of circus training, try some positives.
For example: Trick training stimulates the horses brain and when done correctly the horse enjoys it.
A sleeping horse??? That's it. Peta too often doesnt care or understand the consequences of it's actions. Why not single out the cruelties that do exist and campaign against them. As it is they would have a world where animals do not exist with man-a very unnatural state that would result in many pets and working animals dying cruel deaths. Humans need to work with animals to keep from going insane and thinking they are the masters of the universe-which seems to be Peta's problem.
And if this event took place after the show the handlers were probably caring for more tempermental animals like the elephants or lions or any animal that have specail needs. :) it's normal for such a busy place to have more animals to tend to. I know this because my aunt knows a animal trainer from a circus ;) I got to go backstage and help put with the animals a few times.
Also horses do not sleep on the ground and they sleep for short periods of time. Younger horses do sleep on the ground only because their legs are not strong enough to hold them up for their sleeping period of time.
Horses only face the corner of the stall and have their ear flattened when they are trying to say leave me be it's been a long day. Also the trainers and the humans who work with them always have treats on hand to reward the animals for doing as trained. Also this horse was probably gotten prepared to go on early because every good rider knows it takes about on hour in order to correctly tack up a horse
This pony is resting just be for the show,he's asleep, hes does not have his tack on 24 hours a day, more cruelty in the domestic home with pets, get your facts right.
It might be asleep, but horses only face irght into the corner of their stall and flatten their ears like that if they are depressed. Also, leaving that harness on could cause it a lot of discomfort, and could prevent it from laying down. Utter cruelty, using animals in circuses. I can't believe it's allowed.

You are 100% right, these animals suffer greatly. A life in the circus is a life filled with suffering for any animal.
