You really shouldn't have those mollies with that puffer. The puffer is alot more aggressive and with little bit more size he will pose a serious threat to your other fish. I recommend moving him or the other fish to a seperate tank.
Well, I know now in the future to get a puffer. LOL! I like having ghost shrimp in my tank. This is upsetting knowing they eat live shrimp because I would have liked to have one of those fish.
That's forcing nature, not letting it be itself. In nature, ghost shrimps wouldn`t even encounter a puffer. Stick a child in a bear cage and have it ripped to to shreds, "because that's how they eat. you're just watching nature be itself". I know it's only a shrimp, but was that really necessary?
@PurpleSpades yes, in the wild maybe it wouldn't encounter a ghost shrimp, but it STILL eats live food. I don't condone any type of abuse, but this isn't abuse, it's the circle of life. You can't change it or fight it, that's just the way it is. And refusing to accept that and feeding every single fish freeze dried or flake food is just whitewashing over YOUR own discomfort with REALITY. Btw, the main ingredient on almost every fish food is FISH MEAL. That means they killed fish to make the food
This is why you should put compatible fish and other aquatic creatures together. I know ghost shrimp are only 13 cents a piece, but I would still be sad if another fish in my tank ate them. They are interesting to watch and they like to hitch a ride on the shell of my snail.
I feed my glass bloodfins, cory cats, betta and rainbowfishes ghost shrimp. I catch them in my grandfather's pont where they grow wild. They ecspecially like the females eggs (fish form of caviar)
nice leo, thats a puffer, right? i breed bettas splendens (all fin types) and i'm thinking about purchases some ghost shrimps for my 3 community tanks and my breeding tanks also, but affraid that the shrimp will be eaten also by the adult bettas. even tho it really wouldn't be a problem
my bettas dont bother mine, but I give the shrimp good hiding places in case they decide to. The shrimp are cheap, i got them for 15 c each, so who cares if they get eaten
listen this is my shared youtube with me and my girlfriend, MY personal youtube account name is Gsxrlu, talk to me on that one and check out my vids of my betta, On those vids is shows some of my collection but my cam isn't working and i have more than that now. check i out and reply to me on the other username
I know they are commonly used for food but i have some of these in my tank as residents work great in community tanks umm well without puffers i imagine
a tank reffered to asa comminuty tank normally has smaller non aggressive species in it such as tetras, danios, platys, mollies, etc. For the most part comprised of small schooling fish
I agree with coldarkstar it was upsetting especially since 1 of my 2 g.shrimp just died like the next day after i got my mystery snail but at 0:33 it was kind of funny how that fish came out of nowhere.
I concur. I used to do that and one by one my non-puffers died. Come to find out it was my little puffer munching on their bones and nipping off their carcasses...ugh
BEAUTIFUL tank and fish, you take really good care of it. Beautiful puffer too. DId the shrimp get killed accidently, or is that an addition to the puffer's food source? :-)
All you bleeding hearts better not visit a bait shop, you'll have a heart attack!

@PurpleSpades Because that's how they eat. You're just watching nature be itself.
