from what I have read, eclipse is not going out of business, they are just ending their aftermarket line. Their parent company, Fujitsu Ten, still makes many OEM systems for Toyota, Lexus and many others. Plus they make OEM software for other manufacturers factory nav systems.
itd be sweet though if you made one last year with a line of badass high end stuff.
how do you like your eclipse subs? i got the 4-channal, 75 watt amp that eclipse makes, im not sure of the modle # all i know is the last noumbers are 4000 but its crisp and clear.
hahaha naw i do know wat am doing...i guess i never learnd how to write the correct way....so wat thats wat getho schools in oakland do to u...oh an is koo it turns out that i wount like the sound it would give me bt thnx anyways...
naw am lookig for the strong gets an most krispy bass sound... want it to thump...bt am not sure if i change my kikers to you kind it wount give me the kind of sound am looking for...hmm well ama try them out and see wat i get...how many do you recomend?
Honestly, I'm not sure if these are for you. What model Kickers do you have and what model amp(s) do you have? I don't want to be rude, but you seriously don't sound like you know what you are doing. Speaking english is a start.
I have no idea if they are better than your 'kikers'. Maybe, depends on what Kickers they are. Depends on what you like. Do you like a good clean thumping bass, or do you like to rattle your truck off with no appreciation for the music itself? If the latter is the case, these subs are not for you. I only assume this because most people that have 3 15" kickers don't care how good they sound, as long as you can hear it the next town over.
Are you happy with your XA1000? I ran one for about a week before I returned it, all connections were good but it shorted out so easy, clipped so easy. My new Alpine and old Kicker never did that, just curious if I had a dud or if they suck.
Just cause it clips doesnt mean it sucks. Clipping is a form of protection to the amp's circuitry. When an amp clips, it is installed wrong or being pushed past its limits. I have had Kickers, and although they didnt clip, they got very hot and would likely have a higher chance of total failure because they dont have this protection. I recommend checking the settings on the amp. you likely have the gain voltage and/or boost set to high for the application.
no offense but i'll have to disagree with you, either i had a bad amp or it simply was overated. i was only running two MTX 5500's (an entry level sub) ran it first at 2ohms then at 4ohms, it would run fine on low and mid volume, and the clipping light would blink with the bass line. and as soon as i cranked it boom, it would fail, then come on again. gains were never past 3/4 of the way. it's the only amp that has done that. but maybe i'm complaining too much after all i only paid $230
well you left out a HUGE part of your story. what ohms were the subs' voice coils rated at? and what type of amp? what impedance is the amps supposed to be run at? you should never have to switch the same sub. Looks like the 5500s come in either single 4ohm or duel 4 ohm (run as 2ohm total). In fact, unless you change amps, its had to see how you "changed" from 2 to 4 ohms and kept both subs. sounds like you are mismatching your subs/amps, which will lead to an amp clipping.
the subs are ENTRY level subs that means there probably as plain as you get. SVC 4ohm, and to begin with that amp is suppose to be 1 ohm stable, , I even tried connecting just 1 twelve to it and the same problem. i honestly think the one i have is just bad amp. trust me i'm no amateur, i currently running 3 12" subs with a RF 20001bd at a 1.34 ohm load.
Nice HU!!!!
