@MrSubsocial The guy who was interviewing them is called Richard Bacon, and he used to be a presenter of the kids show Blue Peter, which is a very well known and respected show that has been running since the 60's. But he was caught doing cocaine so he had to quit it. Now its kind of like a running gag that most comedians do whenever Richard Bacon is on their show, or vice versa.

@thewildone I find that a little hard to believe as Dinklage only broke through into the mainstream as an actor in 2003 in "The Station Agent". He was in a few flicks before that (in insubstantial roles for the most part) from about 1995, but GRRM started writing ASOIAF in 1991, and it was published in 1996. But hey, if that is what he says I guess he must have seen hims someplace and liked him.

Curb works because we didnt initially know that Larry David wasnt actually like that. Extras and The Office work because Brent and Millman are a part of Gervais that he can tap into at will. The celebrity cameos in Extras work because theyre short and sharp and take an aspect depicted in the media and twist it. Loveable Warwick playing arsehole Warwick won't work, for me.

@ch1mpanzeethat ...Its not meant to show Warwick playing an arsehole per se, in essence it is just supposed to highlight that side of people that they don't want seen by the public and in Warwick's case his public image is so positive that seeing the annoyed and irritated side of him will be bizzare. Btw Warwick played an out of character role in Extras and that went down a treat. Just remember that nobody lives with Warwick 24/7 to see him through all stages of emotions.

At no point in that episode were the target of the jokes gay people. The humour came from social awkwardness, or people's reactions. It's the same here.
