@Brasiliero We dont fight with our hands down u fuckhead. Have u ever fought a shotokan karateka thats been active for 19 years? Or we could turn it around and give a straight right and their would be a even faster KO bitch!!!
@karateboy87 Easy karateboy. In our training we learn patience, humility and respect. We must value the gift of knowledge of when to walk away, and when to react.
@karateboy87 Didn't expect a fellow shotokan practicioner to (attempt) to insult someone using such foul language... You don't have to agree with his opinion but to use such language... What would your sensei have to say about that?
@Brasiliero In Karate there are no hooks allowed, this was a tournament, which obviously has rules, and im telling you, i've been doing Shotokan Karate for over 8 years now, and a single hook is blocked amazingly easy, even with hands down.
@RozzoFX this karatekas are training sport karate!!! japanesse can hold hand down, bcs their block with open hand is very, but very strong!!! they can break your leg for example with gedan barai, and opponent is doing mae geri..both are strong!!! but there is just 5 percent of karatekas which is practising karate like japanesse! and those guys should keep hands up!!!! you must always have guard!! I am always doing with my hands up in guard!! I am training traditional Fudokan and okinawan karate
@Brasiliero hooks are good when your in close but the fastest and strongest punch you can throw is a straight punch and you can throw it at a distance to
@Gamerforever1 yea but in tournaments your supposed to control your punch and not hit the face which is waaaay harder to do than throwing one and hitting
guys you cant compare martial arts. mauy thai, aikido, karate etc. you really cant say that, that martial art is better. It all depends on the player. MARTIAL ARTS DONT FIGHT. PEOPLE DO.
I Do Shotokan Karate To Im Soon Going To A Competition The Nationals I Do Every Competition I Can I Cant Do Them All Cause Im Only A Green Belt But My Brothers Soon Going To Get His Black Belt
Its all about you, I really recommend Shotokan Karate cause it has helped me all my life. Its a way of life.
Take care and I wish you the best of luck! PS: Worth mentioning is that UFC light heavyweight fighter Lyoto Machida 14 wins no losses has a Shotokan backround =)
@Jahleim72Amaya I couldn't find any shotokan dojo so I started shotokai -.-... lol but I think shotokai is pretty good too. I'm learning with the master that is the representative of the National League of Karate (Portugal) hes very rigorous!

@karateboy87 hi there. I want to start training karate but i'm undecided between shotokan and shotokai wich one should i pick and why? Thanks =)
kordon40 1 year ago
@kordon40 shotokan.
shotokai is a watered down versian of shotokan.
shotokai is a dance.for ballydancers, its all flashy kicks you wont get away with on the streets.

yes, mma gloves
Dafis 2 years ago
They are nothing like the MMA gloves they use in UFC & the like - they are specialist karate mitts.
