every time i listen to this song, my mind pictures this scene:

the song begins and a couple are sitting down having a candle lit dinner. the whistling begins and the gaze into each others eyes. as the drums begin to pound, they bolt out the door, running and laughing in the city of new york as snow begins to fall. they run, holding hands on the sidewalk hold their other hands out and start ripping the sides of the buildings like wallpaper, showing the color hidden under the gray brick.

Badly Drawn Boy is one man; Damon Gough.

I'm sure he's been played on the radio thousands of times, at least in the UK. He wrote a soundtrack for a huge film; About a Boy. Pretty sure he is a lot more well known than you think and in my opinion, his new stuff isn't very good but I don't think that is due to his success.
