In memory of The Charleston Sofa Super Store fire occurred on June 18, 2007, in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, in which a flashover and structural collapse contributed to the deaths of nine Charleston firefighters. The worst fire since 911.
This is the saddest kind of song... a song about never realizing your potential.
I hope everyone who listens to this song understands. Don't give up on your dreams. It's never too late! Be brave, be strong. Don't remain empty. Don't content yourself with your life being mediocre. Live every day to your fullest extent!
I heard this in Philly back in 93. I searched hard till I found it on IRC .. this was before youtube. This artist is a hometown philly boy who raptured me with these lyics and melody
he was just at guliftys in camp hill, a few wks ago. great artist, i remember talking to him for awhile one night at the vault in harrisburg.... he bought me a beer! really cool guy
One of the most overlooked talents ever... "Jeffrey Gaines" was one of the most incredible albums ever. If you can find a copy, I strongly urge you to pick it up. Saw him in a bar in Buffalo when this came out, despite only seven people showing up (there was a snow storm) he put on a great show and spent time talking with all of us.
That's interesting. I apologize, I should've been more clear. I think Jeffrey was and is a solo artist. If I remember correctly Shea co-wrote one song on Jeff's first album, and I think played bass on the track. I was just asking whether he played on the rest of the album as well.
As far as I know Shea wasn't a part of Jeff's backup band, just his 'compatriot.' I hope that clears things up.
Mr. Unit. I don't know Jeffrey personally, but I live about 5 miles from where he grew up. I did see him a few times at some of the local clubs in Harrisburg. We all had a feeling that he would make it big. He was played a lot on the radio stations in the area. Does he ever come back to the Harrisburg area to visit?
SORRY SOME ONE SENT THIS TO ME AND IT SCARED ME SO I HAD TO DO IT PLZ FORGIVE ME IM NOT TRYING TO ADVERTISE BUT IM SCARED OF WHAT IT SEES in 1908 a lady named sally rusa was in the woods looking for a dog until a ghost came and killed her so if ur reading this u will find a bloody body in your closet hanging there haunting you and will kill you and ur family and if u want to stop this just sends this to 6 videos in 30 mins or this will happen good luck
Anything worth having is worth a fight. We all have aspirations, but are limited by ourselves, because we let society tell us what we can accomplish. To me, this song is about complacency/apathy. Without putting forth effort, nothing will never be achieved. "Dreams can come true if you make them happen."
You guys haved to catch this spirit of this song..One of the Best songs ever..It's about the American Spirit and living your life the best you can.I met Jeffrey back in 2000..what a nice guy and humble.
Love Jeffrey and he has inspired many song soff my new album "Music Meets Emotion. Cheers, Layden

The reason Jeffrey isn't popular is due to the fact that people don't have the mental capacity to understand his songs.
Brilliant song writer, he will always remain my absolute favorite.

Before Howie Day, there was Jeffrey Gaines. The dude is incredible. This album is great too. Get it on I-Tunes if you can't find it anywhere else.

I forget, is that Shea on bass? I think he co-wrote 'What It Is' but I can't remember if he played on other songs.

Shea Quinn of the Sharks?

Yes.

I wasn't aware Shea Quinn was in Jeffrey's band. It is certainly possible though. Maybe he just made a cameo in this video???
