Hate it for what silly nonsense it tries, the original Bubsy is a decent excuse plot platformer. For the longest time I could never get past the third boss (let alone consistently survive the third area, what with its bait and switch train/desert levels with long tracts of ground that instantly kills you).

I would do ANYTHING to play this game again. The urge is so strong I'm actually really enjoying watching this youtube video. I made it up to the level just after the western trains, it was like an updated version of the first couple of levels

Looks like Carnival Night from sonic 3 but with less creepier music. I've been waiting 4 somebody 2 do a Bubsy playthrough, at a young age I ran away from Bubsy when I saw the death animation of him melting, the trauma was too great for me to continue. When we were young, my sisters and I LOVED this game! Whenever we could, we would always rent it out of the video shop and play together non-stop! My youngest sister was the first out of all three of us to actually beat this game!

Anyone who can play through Bubsy and Claymates deserves my utmost respect and admiration. Out of all the times I played Bubsy as a kid you are now further than I've ever gotten. My little brother even somehow got his mitts on this glorious failure and to this day I can't even get this far. i played the 3rd Bubsy game..it was on the PC a 3rd person platformer with the camera behind bubsy..the story there was that these aliens had stolen all the yarn balls and Bubsy went to take them back.

i guess thats this games story too..?

if you have ever played Jazz Jackrabbit and gotten to a bonus stage...it was a little like that but slightly easier to control..

I have gotten a LOT of yarn balls and never gotten another life. I think it's just so there's something to collect. also if you glide...which I do a lot...you don't die from falling too high.
