The craziest part is that the puppy will be bigger than all of those dogs when he is only 8months. If it is what it looks like (a Great Pyrenees). His will be stronger also.
In Germany they did many tests, which dog is overall the best guarddog. What came out the Cane corso was the best. When i was young we had a GSD and friends of the family also. A good friend of mine got a Cane Corso. I also was surprised of the outcome. Cause i personally rate the Central Asian Ovcharka, Caucasian Ovcharka the naturally better guarddogs than the GSD and even the Cane Corso. If you ever seen an Ovcharka in real live; i don't need to say more

Yikes I checked out this breeders web page and $2500 is their going rate for a Cane Corso puppy. A working line GSD is $1000-$1500 and will be a much better guard/family dog.. hell a working line Doberman is around $1700 and both dogs are cheaper and better. I like Cane Corso but $2500 is way over priced.

Then, think about how 80% of the GSDs in North America cannot guard the way that 80% of the Cane Corsi in North America can. They are expensive because they're rare and a lot of money is put into a breeding program with high quality Italian Cane Corsi, way more money than a German Shepherd breeder could. If people want a Corso, price shouldn't stop them from getting one.

You should not have a problem with aggression if you train and socialize them correctly, but they are a very dominant dog so you will have to be very consistent with your training or they will not respect your authority, and with a dog this powerful, it is essential that they listen and respect you
@ScottishElvis1 No, they hardly drool at all except when they're eating or begging. They're known as a "tight lipped" mastiff. They're also much more athletic and agile that other mastiffs. Amazing breed. I have a 2 year old girl. They're def not for everyone. Extremely smart and very sensitive. But yeah, for the most part...you're not gonna see drool fly with a head shake! Corsi are NOT difficult to train at all. They are wonderful. CC of Troy is an excellent breeder. But this breed isnt for everyone. You MUST do your part and be a firm and consistent trainer. Many hours will be spent in OB class.

That Corso in the beginning is beautiful. If I ever get a decent amount of property, I will have one. You've obviously got lots of land, and even a pond! Guess I'm stuck with my small dogs for now, though :)

Rahhhh Cane Corso's such a powerful look, the muscular body, a powerhouse of a dog, they are a Magnificant breed i have one only 10 months he is huge i cant wait for his muscles to start filling out
Awesome looking dogs. I like the way the Cane Corsos keep their heads held up high as they trot, a very regal bearing. I've read some critics of the breed saying they are an "artificial" breed only recently created but there is nothing artificial looking about those muscles. Looks real to me. Argentine Dogo is impressive too. The puppy is said to be a "retriever" but looks to me like a Kuvasz pup, another great guarding breed. I'm guessing you don't have to worry about burglars at your house.

Beautiful dogs. I've got a 1 1/2 year old male. i have had pits and they are just as amazing. These dogs are guard dogs and one of the best there is, the most underestimated there is to. the breed is over a 1000 years old and was breed for protecting. I saw a competition in germany where they had all the top guard breeds in the world and the corso won it all, they are so intelligent and so strong for its size u cant imagine. There is no such thing as a "best" breed of dog. Only dogs "better" suited to individual people. Anyone who says some breed is better than any other announces themselves to the world as an idiot.
If certain traits in a breed is what you are looking for then THAT breed is the best for you.
If you are a couch potato you might like a basset hound over a greyhound.
If you like a dog with guarding instincts you might like the Corso better than the Pitbull and so on...
@sgabriel841 gotta disagree with you man, sorry, love presas and their look. Temperments are somewhat similar except Corso's are more tolerant of strangers and other dogs so long as their owners are ok with it. That's the only reason I don't have one. Otherwise I'd agree with you.
wow! they are so beautiful! in 1999 me and my best friend were on the verge of breeding cane corsos.but this guy from ohio had these imported presa canario for an unbeatable price ,so we bought them. nearly 11 years later i still have the male urco. i love him more than life but i will have cane corso eventually. to me they are both amonst the most impressive breeds available. you guys have amazing dogs though. very impressive.
@pantelisOeO No, not a killer breed, socialize them young and be firm with them (they are a dominant breed) and they are AWESOME. They get along great with kids, other dogs, and are VERY family oriented. It's almost like they sense how you feel about a situation and follow your lead even without training. With training? Unstoppable.

If your considering 1 please do your research. Internet, library, dog shows and talk to breeders, visit kennels. In these dogs you will get what you pay for! @TZA1 i want an agressive dog that does'nt like anythink apart from its owner, i like the look of these but everyone says they suffer with hip dysplasia,bloat,gum disease,patella luxation, kiddney failure, bowl disease, skin problems,deaffness, poor eye sight, deformed spines , also very hard to train due to a lack of concentration and little brain, in many countrys the dog as become exstinkt, its a shame.
@thehomefront None of that is true. All breeds can be afflicted with those illnesses but they are not Cane Corso specific. The Corso isn't an aggressive dog that doesn't like anyone apart from its owner. The Fila Brasileiro is the closest to that that I know of.

Unscientific at best, a freeak show put on by amateurs at worst.
The GSD, when well bred, remains the dog by which all others are judged and why its popularity with military and police enforcement around the world.
DDR type GSDs are still used as Border Patrol dogs, and some are quite large, the only real advantage a Caucasian has over a GSD.

Awesome looking dogs. I like the way the Cane Corsos keep their heads held up high as they trot, a very regal bearing. I've read some critics of the breed saying they are an "artificial" breed only recently created but there is nothing artificial looking about those muscles. Looks real to me. Argentine Dogo is impressive too. The puppy is said to be a "retriever" but looks to me like a Kuvasz pup, another great guarding breed. I'm guessing you don't have to worry about burglars at your house.

Beautiful dogs. I've got a 1 1/2 year old male. i have had pits and they are just as amazing. These dogs are guard dogs and one of the best there is, the most underestimated there is to. the breed is over a 1000 years old and was breed for protecting. I saw a competition in germany where they had all the top guard breeds in the world and the corso won it all, they are so intelligent and so strong for its size u cant imagine. Of all the dog expertes ive talkt with, they say this is the best bred

Your dogs are stunning!! We have two Corsi, a blue brindle and a formentino, and they are the best dogs ever! I think the breed is addictive, you can't stop at just one. We're going to add a third as soon as we get a house with more land.

@UntouchableNYsee Cane just means 'dog' in italian. Corso is the word that specifies the breed. So instead of saying: I LOVE MY CANE!!! what you really should say is I LOVE MY CORSO!! :) just a friendly thought.

There is no such thing as a "best" breed of dog. Only dogs "better" suited to individual people. Anyone who says some breed is better than any other announces themselves to the world as an idiot.
If certain traits in a breed is what you are looking for then THAT breed is the best for you.
If you are a couch potato you might like a basset hound over a greyhound.
If you like a dog with guarding instincts you might like the Corso better than the Pitbull and so on...

@sgabriel841 gotta disagree with you man, sorry, love presas and their look. Temperments are somewhat similar except Corso's are more tolerant of strangers and other dogs so long as their owners are ok with it. That's the only reason I don't have one. Otherwise I'd agree with you.

wow! they are so beautiful! in 1999 me and my best friend were on the verge of breeding cane corsos.but this guy from ohio had these imported presa canario for an unbeatable price ,so we bought them. nearly 11 years later i still have the male urco. i love him more than life but i will have cane corso eventually. to me they are both amonst the most impressive breeds available. you guys have amazing dogs though. very impressive.

@pantelisOeO No, not a killer breed, socialize them young and be firm with them (they are a dominant breed) and they are AWESOME. They get along great with kids, other dogs, and are VERY family oriented. It's almost like they sense how you feel about a situation and follow your lead even without training. With training? Unstoppable.

Amazing video. Yes these dogs are NOT for every1. Seriously folks if your looking for a "cheap" corso, please go to a shelter, these dogs are not for you. If your considering 1 please do your research. Internet, library, dog shows and talk to breeders, visit kennels. In these dogs you will get what you pay for! These are gaurdian dogs bred for family protection, aggression is dependant upon the handler, so please do your homework before making comments! Sincerly, proud Cane corso owner!

@TZA1 i want an agressive dog that does'nt like anythink apart from its owner, i like the look of these but everyone says they suffer with hip dysplasia,bloat,gum disease,patella luxation, kiddney failure, bowl disease, skin problems,deaffness, poor eye sight, deformed spines , also very hard to train due to a lack of concentration and little brain, in many countrys the dog as become exstinkt, its a shame.

@thehomefront None of that is true. All breeds can be afflicted with those illnesses but they are not Cane Corso specific. The Corso isn't an aggressive dog that doesn't like anyone apart from its owner. The Fila Brasileiro is the closest to that that I know of.

Wonderful video. That ol' mama looks so sweet. I've had my eye on Corso's for years now. My white Shep/Wolf is 18 this year. I don't want to bring a young dominant dog into my home until my friend for so long is gone. But two Corso's are coming.
