  • AWESOME!!

  • What's with the terrible accent?

  • This was good/great minus Maria forgetting about "blocking" but this was beautiful

  • Very, Very, Very Good!!!

  • who were u? good job!!! : )

  • who did you play? maria?

  • wow, great maria!

    i'm in tears, well done.

  • adam yost! how i heart you!!!

  • i love how the whole cast runs in at teh same time

  • lol except for the chick on the far right who was late....hehe. jk........she was late tho. :D

  • @Hawkman10016 she wasn't late. technically the cast is supposed to run on at different times to make it look more realistic. i am doing this show at my school... so yea.

  • I've done this show 3 times. lol. I know that everyone is supposed to come on at different times but if you watch closely, there is ONE girl on the right who makes a shuffling noise after the rest of the cast gets into place. You actually think that they told the WHOLE cast to come out and have the one chick wait til after the fact? C'mon. Great acting! Great singing! This show was probably amazing! I'm just saying she probably almost missed her cue, making her 3 seconds late. No big deal. :D

  • @Hawkman10016

I believe in the movie, Anita comes later than the rest.

  • @SuperKaitie333 Like I said...if that girl is Anita, then it makes perfect sense. :)

  • i didn't like how she jumped over him when she said "don't you touch him!" kind of weird.. but it was very well played. nice job :D

  • That woman is amazing! I wish only good things happen in her career.

  • i just jump when he shot him the gun souded real

  • well, that gunshot sequence was poorly staged. oh well.

  • give them a break, it's obivously like a camp or something. It's pretty good.

  • i think its actually a community or perfessional theatre.

  • west side story is a masterpiece! I studied it for my a level.

  • This Romeo and Juliiet business is imprecise. Shakespeare was emphasizing intrafamilial hatred. West Side Story portrays racial biigotry and the deadly consequences of resultant gang warfare.

  • yeh but its loosely based on romeo and juiliet, the only facts the writer uses of romeo and juliet are that tony and maria aren't aloud to be together, then it hangs on gang warfare. its not al supposed to be rigidly on romeo and juliet, it would be crap!

  • Well i had to do a report about West Side Story and Romeo and Juliet and you would actually be very surprised on how they are actually near identical. Many of the scenes are the same just transposed to present day America and adheres to conflicts and problems now instead of the Renaissance period. Also, the characters in WSS are based off of the characters of R&J and share many of the same characteristics, yes some parts deviate but for the most part these two works are identical.

  • im chino in my show.. bye bye tony

  • likewise.

  • @iloveelphaba17 Im Tony. OUCH!

  • woah the actors were great in this i always tear up at the bit where maria drops the gun and starts to cry also when tony dies and that music plays who were you in this production?

  • Your Maria was AMAZING Brava!

  • WAS THIS IN CONCERT THAT YOU FILMED IT

  • This Maria did an EXCELLENT job!

In my high school's production, we had a few staging fiascos. Chino at one point shot straight through Maria to kill Tony. We were like, "ok, something's wrong here..."

  • we did this as a skl play i was LT. Schrank (the guy that goes to the body) sept i had a proper imspector gadjet coat kinda look instead of suit :P

  • this part makes me cry all the time.. it is sooo sad tht it had 2 end this way but this how is ended in Romeo and Juliet with death.. but it also makes me think about some very important ppl in my life who have passed away..

  • very well done! believable too! ...Maria was brilliant...

  • Well, 50 years on we now know what we felt from the beginning. The show is timeless.

  • when my school did WSS to get the effect of the gun shot, we used pellet gun amo and knocked it with a hammer.. during the first presentation while i(maria) was leanin over tony, the pellets continued to go of ...it was so funny...

  • ...And the gladiators walk away from a bloodless pavement, ready to attend 2 funerals, and to return soon for yet another "rumble".

  • In any production of WSS, it always gets me when the Jets are carrying Tony off and the Sharks run out to help. *TEARS*

    Incredible.

  • this ochrestra is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, Maria was brilliant. 5 stars! (The music was a little too loud, though)

  • I had a few little qualms, but they were just personal opinions. It gave me chills. Very good job.

  • maria did an amazing job. my eyes were glued to the screen. i didnt want to stop watching!

  • Beautiful! WOW!

You acheived something that most High Schools or Colleges dont... you made it believable...

  • too bad i can't see the faces. Great job. It made me cry. I would die to play that role.

  • u brought me to tears! omg this is beautiful... do u have a video of u and the guy singing somewhere? if u do i would LOVE 2 c it!!!

  • the actors aruond them are so bad lol

  • I always cry when Tony dies.

  • it was good, lol did she jump over Tony when the officer goes to him.. gooodgoood well done

  • whoever played Luis was INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Our show was better from last year. These people are slow to react and it's not just the video/sound.

  • It went to fast. This is a huge moment everything must slow down or the audience will never be able to process what is happening on the stage. Every thing has to come down in this. This is what breaks it all. This is the big realization, so it cannot be rushed. The pacing is the only thing wrong the acting is good.

  • I didn't think the timing was too fast. I cried! I always cry at this part!

  • bloody hell good acting lol x

  • one word - amazing!

  • that is some good acting

  • wow how does a summer camp have this much amazing sets nd good job

  • Very, Very, well done!!!

  • This is some phenomenal acting!!!! Maria and Tony were fantastic!

  • Really lovely.

One aspiring actor to (hopefully, you should really consider it) another, that was really wonderful.

  • That movie is representacting the "Romeu e Julieta"

  • my gosh that is some GOOD acting.

  • I cried. And I never cry. Good job.

  • wow. very good!

  • you guys are amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was in this in high school. i was a jet girl. when we first rehearsed this scene all the way through, i cried so hard! they all though i was just acting, though, so it worked!

  • it makes me cry!:D

  • Wow. That was amazing. I know that scene acting whys is very difficult, but you did great. I cried every night when I was in this show.

  • that was amazin acting right there *cries* i love how at the end ppl from both sides carry his body off stage it was reely touching

  • I think the first comment above is missing the point somewhat.

  • it always makes me cry during that scene, but only in the real presentation...not any of this high school drama club stuff

  • You are awesome. Bravo! I didn't get a chance to be on West Side Story. But I'm too chicken be in it. Because of violence. But, I was frightened back then. I'll hope I been the production of West Side Story someday.

  • Awesome Job! I love how angry you get. It is really powerful. Great Performance again!

  • this was excellent!!! how old are you?

  • Thank you :) I turned 18 last week! I was 17 during this production.

  • wow! that's amazing!! you should go out for broadway!! =)

  • you're great

  • you are by far the best maria i have seen. definately better than natalie wood.

  • omg that made me cry...it was really good

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Ahhh this is awesome. I want to be a part of this program. All of the summer theater stuff in my area is crappy. =(

  • Oh man this is actually pretty good.

  • if i was maria in real life, id be on chinos butt ina sec

  • wow u play an awesome maria maybe even better then natalie wood did

  • Are you kidding? Natalie Wood was a classic but she did great too.

  • But Natalie didn't sing in the movie. Her voice was dubbed over.

  • I know. But what I meant to say was that Natalie's acting was the greatest.

  • That gunshot was scary. Wow!

  • That was amazing..really stunning.

I'm auditioning for a part with her monolouge, this was really such a wonderful interpretation.

  • Shame it's cut short!!!

  • haha i thought the same thing when i saw the movie from the 60's. i think i actually said to the television "What are you doing?!" but i think you did a great job with maria and her ensuing hysteria when her love is killed.

  • The one thing I've never understood about this scene when I've seen productions of it, is why Chino just HANDS her the gun. Crazy, hysterical, heart-broken woman-and he just gives her the gun. Isn't she supposed to grab it out of her hand? I dunno-it just seems weird to me.

But you did a very, very good job. :]
