  • It gave me the creeps when I heard Ozzy say that he opened Randy's guitar case and the strings were rusty. At least he left behind some really kick ass jams for us to listen to... :(

  • GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Chills...

  • no reaction needed..except get rid of that useless shit

  • Damn that little fella had HEAVY SOUND......

  • I was at this show, row 5, seat 5, about -15 in the parking-lot and 95 in the old Met :)...... I got to see Randy 3X , this show, River-Flat Jam(Blizzard festival leg ) & the Blizzard arena leg .....I am truly blessed

  • I remember the day I heard the news of Randy's death.....as aspiring Rock Guitarist and 17 years old, it was one sad day! Randy was so unique to Rock Guitar because he was so tasteful yet hard core at the same time. Ozzy truly owes Randy everything for making those first albums for his comeback. RIP Randy!

  • @nighthawk584 .....he owes Randy a lot yes, but "everything"..?? who wrote the lyrics and helped arrange the music and played bass on those first two come back albums?

I think Ozzy owes Bob Daisley and Randy Rhoads "Everything".......

  • What is up with all the echo during the beginning of the solo...it really messes it up I think.

  • I love the ominous tone of that interlude... Randy sure could create some beautiful, yet haunting and dark music... \m/ Tony Iommi has that quality as well, and that's why I fucking love them both...It's odd that Randy wasn't a Sabbath fan though

  • DIMEBAG IS NO WAY NEAR RANDY ROADS

  • @666jaybone

    I like em both

  • Maestrazo...

  • RIP Randy. 29 years ago today, all of music lost a God. Randy is back home.

  • My favorite Ozzy song ever. It's a shame that so many people do not know this song. To me it's his best and Randy well ...guitar God

  • @julkat73 Agreed on all points. Revelation is very underrated.

  • Comment removed

  • yes, this is randy.

  • Randy died on 3/19/1982 so ALL shows BEFORE that date were him playing... including this one

  • Randy died on 3/19/1982 ths is BEFORE that.... so it IS Randy Rhoads

  • THIS IS NOT RANDY!!!

  • I honestly don't get how people can say that this is not Randy on this recording? The tone and the way the songs feeling is played out is a dead give away that its Rhoads. Sides...another dead give away that this is in fact Randy on the recording, is if you listen to the spotlight solo after Suicide Solution...The Spotlight solo is infact Randy's spotlight that he played every night. Brad's spotlight he played in that section on the rest of the DOAM tour is a COMPLETELY differnt solo.

  • @Robthewild1 one last dead giveaway, is Randy's style in playing (esspecially in the solos) are WAY different. Brad likes to keep his hand on his Floyd Rose during many of the solos, and fills. Whereas Randy had a differnt approach, which is shown through out this entire show. No floyds can be heard during the whole show.

  • Iv seen alot of of guitarest over the years but iv got to say that randy is the best of all better than hendrix ioomi dimage and townsend overall there skill is not as good as randys

  • randy rhoads rules

  • This is not Randy Rhoades on this recording , this is Brad GILLES .......

I'VE Seen Randy on the blizzard tour 3 times & he die 4 weeks before the Madison Square Garden show , NYC , WHO I Seen there w/ Bernie Taurmay from Ian Gillans Band , & Brad Gilles finished the rest of the tour out ......

Thank God , Brad saved the tour also seen Speak of the Devil tour @ The RITZ in NYC ... Good times , But , Would much Rather have seen Randy ...

    I'm 46 now ...... Boy do i miss being 16 / 17 Again

  • @raidergirl75 This is indeed Randy, deadd givaway is the effects. Listen to that awesome midrange.Brad used a more sweet lower end tone with Mesa Boogie amps. Both very good tones btw.

  • This is not Randy Rhoades on this recording , this is Brad GILLES .......

  • @raidergirl75 :

At first I thought you were incorrect, but the more I listened to the ending, the more I believe you are right...the outro just doesn't sound like Rhoads-especially at the 4:50 mark.....

    Just my opinion...

  • I Would give my life away just to see randy

  • Yea the after hours is about the best available that i've seen! There just isn't enough!! And of course always "crazy train" which is great but OMG would I love to see A live version of randy playing Diary !! Jesus!

  • @roderickgful

they never played diary of a madman live and neither has any other guitarist with ozzy... the closest is zakk wilde playing the intro

  • Long Live Randy!

  • I was at this concert, and it is Randy Rhodes. Awesome show!!

  • @jenner560 what concert? this is the album version lol

  • Jake E Lee folks

  • @revelation1965 1/15/82 I don't think it was Jake....

  • @hundanth yea randy died march 19 this is definently randy

  • @revelation1965 Oh yeah! Jake FRICKEN E. LEE!

  • @revelation1965 it's more likely to be brad gillis, the randy rhoads stand in for the rest of the Diary tour.... this sounds nothing like jake e lee

  • This is definitely NOT Randy. Any RR fan will tell you that....and of course, Randy didn't have off nights.

  • el mejor violero de todos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's not Brad Gillis, he liked to use the whammy every other note. It sounds like Randy on an off night. Listen to the Tribute album and compare.

  • Saw Randy 6 times and heard this song 6 times live...Randy and his double neck guitar...still gives me shivers when I think about it...however, this ain't Randy. There was no song pre-empt,which he did from a barstool every time I saw him. Too many missed notes to be Randy. Jake E. Lee maybe...

  • you saw randy rhoads.

lucky. i would have been lucky to see him

my uncle saw randy rhoads. on his last show to be exact

but i was luckt to see dimebag

  • i smoked and drank with dimebag in toronto. flew out to vancouver a week later to do it again. 1994...

when i was 11 i wanted to go to see ozzy on the Blizzard tour. my mom said no. that was 1980, i haven't spoken to her since...

  • @pghpatt

it is not Jake E playing listen to, co&pa into the Searchb.:

    Revelation (Mother Earth)

This is RR - 82 directly from the soundboard..

  • How cal you tell mabus999 ?

  • this doesn't sound like randy rhoades to me. sounds more like a brad gillis bad copy. not randy!

  • there is footage of eary rare rhoads ozzy on here somewhere its great

  • It's too bad it couldn't have been preserved better. It's good, but I wish it was crystal clear. This is my fave ozzy/rhoads song. Not alot of footage out there.

  • can you imagine all of the amazing riffs he could have created over the past 27 years? the music industry would still have some dignity..

    RIP randy rhoads :'(

  • the best is richie blackmore, 2º randy

  • hendrix=best rock/blues pioneer

    rhoads=best metal guitarist

    schenker=best hamony guitarist

    sykes=best hard rock guy

but Randy Roads is the best of all R.I.P

  • @davyaelmans

    Hell Quote

  • @davyaelmans AMEN!

  • @davyaelmans nah man the great thing about rhoads was that he wasn't just a metal guitarist... he had a lot of classical type stuff in his work and even planned on leaving ozzy soon to get a degree in classical guitar from ucla... the classical influence gave him a lot more technique and truely made him legendary fo fusing metal and classical... he even planned out solos to the note rather the standered method of vamping... but in the end one thing is certain...

    RANDY IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @davyaelmans wat about evh?

  • @davyaelmans you forgot Dimebag Darrell, but yeah i think he`s Randys Inheritor.

  • God bless one of the most talented guitararist never been here on herat! Ciao Randy..and thank you Ozzy to show the world this talent

  • Randy Its A GOD!!

The Best Guitar Player In The Earth!

  • @salvarhoads i agree man R.I.P. Randy

  • @salvarhoads perhaps

  • @salvarhoads I Friggin LOVE RR.sadly he is NOT a god-He is a dead mortal.Like all the other greats--the best we ever heard! Jimi-SRV-Moon-Bonzo-Skydog Allman-Lennon-Dime-Dio-Elvis-Murcury-So many more. They are missed ,but they left this fuckin KILLER music for us to remember!!!!!! R.I.P gents!

  • the guitar solo is great, randy was unique!

  • is there any actual video of rhodes???

  • no. theres only like 6 vids of rhoads on youtube. it sucks....

  • there's the professional videos of Rhoads from the After Hours clips of '82. Great footage

  • That was in 81 and wasn't really a concert. But it is great footage.

  • @eandatoo

That was late in 1980 ........ Recorded i Believe upstate N.Y. in ALBANY ??

  • I want to know where the awesome footage is that is shown in clips during an old Ozzy interview. If you haven't seen it on youtube, it shows a castle stage concert with Randy up close and clear! Pro footage......only tiny clips are shown. Where is the rest??!!?? My friend thinks there may have only been small shots by MTV taken for publicity. I think there is a whole concert out there.

  • That was for Entertainment Tonight and Rock Report foortage. Only three songs were recorded. It was just during a rehearsal and not a real concert. But it's being released with the new Randy Rhoads documentary.

  • @ffilchtaeh you're right. more footage of randy exists. you know who you have to ask if you ever want to see any of it? sharon osbourne...

  • randy died in 1982

    Randy is a God!

  • Sadly Randy died in 1982!! the music lost the best guitar in a stupid crash plane.

Obviously there is no any current video

  • yeah i chugging towards the end just makes me go nuts lol RIP randy

  • Great.

  • Break my Heart

  • this is magic!!!

  • god this song is so fucking perfect.
