Twilight Sparkle is in fact a Rapidash and the incarnation of a Brown Dwarf star (a star that's too small to ignite.) DeeDee and Discord's dance was enough to help her (and her relative star) ignite, thus becoming a proper Rapidash and proper Dwarf Star respectively.
