  • Do you know which Harisson's guitar is used on "Not Guilty " ? Thanks

  • 12 string Rick. very high tech at that time!

  • the white album shouldve been a triple album, with this, all things must pass, child of nature, make love not war, and all those other songs that were pushed aside

  • better than wild honey pie

  • Absolutely fucking perfect song.....why wasn't this never on any album??????!!!!!!!

  • This is another example of John and Paul overlooking George's songs. This, to me was the best song on Anthology 3. It blows the version George released in 1979 out of the water.

  • WHY WAS THIS NOT ON THE WHITE ALBUM!?

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS PERFECT.

  • If The Beatles were still alive, people these days would be able to experience "Real Music"

  • i love you soooo god damn much george

  • xfcsagvytfgcaysdgcvaytgvcv

  • Should have replaced wild honey pie or Revolution 9

  • Damn, I mean is better than Honey Pie, or Why dont we do it in the road.

  • Bloody brilliant!!!!

  • Sweet Jesus, why wasn't this put on the album?!?!?!?!

  • This would have been one of the best tracks if it was included on the White Album, how could they leave it out???

  • Always a standout on Anthology 3 for me. Love it!

  • I miss George <3

  • George rocks.

  • ISN'T THAT PAUL SINGING????

  • @mamaott no its george... george sounds like a nice mix of paul and john... smooth like paul, but can go high like john. took me years to figure out (without looking) who was singing what ;)

  • but u are guilty for this awesome song!

  • so Jazzy basslines!

  • Harrison, I love you more everyday. Your songs... just genius.

  • George is eating up his guitar on this song! LOL Coolness! Got to love the Beatles.

  • George is killing his guitar on this song! LOL Coolness! Got to love the Beatles.

  • no doubt, a great injustice happened to George at that time - he already started to develop to a big songwriter, but John and Paul were focused on their egos too much. It´s a pity that they did not put his songs at least as non-album singles (he had a number of songs from 1966 onwards, but didn´t even offer them to the band because he was afraid of being overlooked). At least he got a satisfaction later, when both John and Paul stated publicly, that they made a big mistake.

  • il padrino gave that poor soul that disliked this song an offer they couldnt refuse........

  • This version > George Harrison solo album.

  • Oops, looks like McCartney forgot his shirt..

  • Justin Beiber dislikes this song

  • I heard that "Not Guilty" was suppose to be on The White Album, but "Revolution 9" was chosen instead. This is really upsetting because "Not Guilty" is obviously so much better than "Revolution 9"!!

  • @Hoodzy712 no its not

  • @CaffeCraft What do you mean it's not better than Revolution 9? I mean, no offense, but "Not Guilty" is an actual song unlike "Revolution 9"

  • Comment removed

  • I've always loved this song!! Never realised it wasn't on an album!!

  • casey anthony LOL

  • My band Chandrama just posted a video on our channel, a cover of George's "It's All Too Much" with sitars and things on it, and sung in Nepali. The Beatle's organization was super easy to deal with on the licensing approval. We hope George would have approved. You can see it on our channel, and please do.

  • harrison is so underrated. mccartney's contributions on the white album were easily his worst efforts in the beatles. his ego was clearly too big to remove some of that garbage to make room for real gems like this one.

  • @haveatomato 2 words - Black and Bird. What do you say to that

  • @haveatomato I wouldn't call McCartney's efforts the worst. However I agree with the rest of your opinion but I would also include Lennon's outrageous Revolution 9 and very weak Revolution 1. Why this crap and not Sour Milk Sea or Not Guilty? I don't know.

  • The odd thing is they really tried to get this song right as something like 100+ takes were made. Personally I would have removed WDWDIITR which has never appealed to me & it could have rocked up on Anthology later like Not Guilty. Still at least we did get an official release.

  • @twinflame93 Different people like different songs. Personally WDWIITR is one of my favorite songs on the album. But Not Guilty should also be on the album. It's better than 4 or 5 songs on the album and much better than the non-song Revolution 9.

  • Paul did an excellent job on bass ...

  • ....why isn't paul wearing a shirt?

  • @everybodyallthetime he forgot his wallet.

  • @everybodyallthetime cause he's so sexy

  • What album can this be found on?

  • @denzellskater only anthology 3

  • @everybodyallthetime

    thank you

  • the beatles were pure genious, they will never truly die in the hearts of their fans <33 R.I.P John Lennon and George Harrison.

  • It would have been so awesome if this was on the White Album

  • psh honey pie is fantastic. revolution 9 is not that good.

  • No dislikes! :D

  • Maybe they should've removed revolution 9, because it's not a song, it's a kind of experiment. They could've used that 8 minutes and include 2 or 3 other left songs.

  • WHY THE HELL DID THEY PUT REVOLUTION 9 ON THE ALBUM INSTEAD OF THIS!? (and maybe "Junk" too)

  • The funny thing is that Long Long Long and Piggies made it but Not Guilty and Sour Milk Sea didn't!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, why didn't they use this?

  • Harrison, the Amazing.

  • I wonder why they didn't release this the White Album? Replace this song with another song on the White Album!

  • @ChazYocom this song is motherfucking good dumb ass why would you replace it. FUCK YOU.

  • @thegame3623 I think he or she ment to mean they should have put this one instead of another one

  • @thegame3623 HAHA you're fucking stupid. the song isn't on the album, how could it be replaced, he was suggesting it should have been on the album at the expense of a lesser song and you, with your outstanding reading skills, picked out a few key words and decided your rebutle should be'' FUCK YOU!''

  • @ledZeppelin7680 im sorry if i am only 11. excuse me mama's boy for not knowing everything by 6th grade. I hope i made u feel like an asshole, because u r one. FUCK U 2. U LOW LIFE SON OF A BITCH. I bet u hav no job and all day all u do is jackoff to random pointless youtube videos. oh... yeah, i went there. FUCK U, PRICK.

  • @thegame3623 if you're 11 why are your reading and writing skills bellow the level expected of 3rd graders? you're not just an 11 year old, you're a really stupid 11 year old.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 why r u so mean to me, i didnt read it carefully, if im so stupid how am i getting poems i made published in a book? i never knew all people below a 3rd grade level get poems published. (FUCK YOU)

  • @thegame3623 why would you respond to someone if you didn't even bother to read their comment? that's stupid. if you're too lazy to read half a paragraph then where do you find the time to argue with people over the internet?

  • @ledZeppelin7680 Oh I think I'm starting to like you after reading these comments : )

  • @ledZeppelin7680 Listen here dip shit i may be 12 but i can still kick ur lazy 30 year old jobless ass. ok so dont fuck around with me, ok,ok GOOD. FUCK U

  • @thegame3623 you'd better delete your browser history before your ineffective parents see how many times you used the word fuck and kick the shit out of you.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 my parents dont care. but why do u? (Fucktard) UR A MAN SLORE! (Man+slut+whore=YOU!)

  • @thegame3623 I wonder what you'd look like if inbreeding wasn't so popular in your country.

  • @ledZeppelin7680 ur so bad at disses fu

  • I love this song, heard it from Tom Caruana...simply magic, great song

  • anyone know where I could the recording to download besides a remastered digital version of this song.

  • Why this great track never took the place of something like Don't Pass Me By or The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill I will never know.

  • uNBELIEVABLE!

  • @whatitis117 I SO TOTALLY AGREE.

  • It's a good song. But I'm glad they kept it off the White Album. Other than Rev. 9, the White Album, to me, is their perfect album. I always preferred it over Sgt. Pepper, though that's the one everyone says is the best. For me, it's the White Album. And I just can't imagine now, this or MaryJane or those other songs being on it. It's fun to listen to, but it doesn't stand up to their other stuff, or George's stuff on the White, for that matter. They knew what they were doing.

  • Love it, nice decision NOT to put it on the White Album cuz I would probly be burnt on it by now!

  • this could have simply taken the place of Wild Honey Pie. its amazing compared to alot of the songs on the white album. Bad decision not to include it

  • Kinda wish The White Album had been a triple album, so much material they demoed/partially recorded but didn't appear on it: Sour Milk Sea, Not Guilty, Circles, What's the New Mary Jane, Child of Nature, Junk, Goodbye, Step Inside Love (to say the least). I would have traded in Revolution 9 for anyone of these.

  • Great recording... love the guitars in this.... really a shame it was nixed from the White Album.. vastly superior to "Wild Honey Pie" and "Revolution 9" -- but then again, John and Paul must have known the song was about them...

  • I made the 100th like and 101 comment. :D

  • The harpsichord is BAD ASS!

  • Great song, could be on any Beatles album. I wonder why they didn't release this as a single from "Anthology 3" after abandoning "Now and Then."

  • I think that the song is q uite weak. The vocals are very low quality.

  • Somebody feels guilty around there... and so, remorses doesn't leave her make further coments... Do ya ?

  • Damn! This should've been on the White Album. AWESOME!

  • Too bad this wasn't on the album in place of #9. I'd actually listen to that side more.

  • where can I get this version of wallpaper.

  • The BBCs Radio 2s Sounds Of The 60s Beatles A to Z song for week startg SAT28AUG10 The final instalment of the series that started with John's A Day In The Life. The history Not Guilty can be heard for 1 week after Aug28 by going to the prog site. • Hey I'm a big Beatles fan and always new this song only by Harrison's version!!! Didn't know it was Beatle's

  • Where was this hiding ?what a jem.

  • Like x 1,000,000

  • We can go round and round about which song this might have replaced on a Beatles release. I'll I know is it was a crime for a track like this to get shelved.

  • @MichaelELennon I think it mightve been an attack on them also. And i agree, its not as raspy as George normally sounded. Interesting.

  • This should have been included on White Album, there was a great injustice made on George, they should have omitted Wild Honey Pie and Revolution 9, and put in more his songs - Not Guilty, Circles, Sour milk sea and so on. I wonder why they did not use them later at Get Back...

  • George's voice is so different in a cool way. Thanks for uploading this!

  • I love George's voice in this one. Less... I don't know the word... nasaly (?) than usual - really smooth. Just brilliant lyrics and vocals. It's a shame it wasn't released.

  • Songs straight out of the 80s. haha. This is crazy.

  • I love this version....Always playing with time changes and strange melodies...Would have been a great song to follow up Come Together on Abbey Road.

  • What a wonderful dark piece of art. A black pearl indeed..

  • If this were featured in Love, I'd start with Fixing a Hole and have the guitar break go into this.

  • I still think this is also an attack at Paul!

  • this should have been on the white album. it would have fit nicely, right before "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

  • "... I'm really sorry for your ageing head

But like you heard me said

    Not guilty Not guilty

    For looking like a freak

    Making friends with every Sikh

  • i looked it up and george wrote and is singing this song

  • a) it's clearly a song written by George from the sound

    b) the accent and nasal intonation is undoubtedly George.

  • Wait a sec, who's singing this one? It sounds just like Paul. George wrote it, but I have no idea who's singing.

  • dude this sounds like Paul

  • damn, never heard this before. i really need to investigate the anthologies

  • anthology 3 is great. it also has imho the absolute best version of something ever recorded.

  • @aqkk sooooooo what's imho...I can't figure it out at this moment...

  • This is a genius recording by Mr. Harrison. Clearly Lennon/McCartney did not want to be upstaged

  • Is George the singer in this one ?

  • Yep!

  • @Neurotico9

LOL, I think it could be because the lyrics are aimed directly at John (the 'sikh' verse) & Paul ('upsetting the apple cart'.)

Also, at this time George's songs were constantly being shunted aside by both Paul & George Martin.

The guitar solo at the end is pretty wicked. I think this would have worked best on side three, placed after "Mother Nature's Son" & before "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me & My Monkey."

  • A genius composition as well.

  • @Neurotico9 And yet they allowed "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" to be released...

  • Wow, at 1:28 you can hear a little part from "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite". Nicely done by the fab four!

  • @skosa

    nope.

just the rhytm is the same.

    this rhytm is very popular

  • Of all the songs on the White Album, I've always felt that perhaps maybe Piggies should have been replaced with either this or Sour Milk Sea. But that's just my opinion

  • @getback9691 I think a better choice would have been to replace Why Don't We Do It In The Road with Not guilty.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967

I disagree, 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' fits nicely along with 'I Will' to just omit it from the album. Besides I was thinking more along the lines of replacing a George Harrison song with another Harrison composition.

  • I think "Why Don't We Do It In the Road" is one of the best tracks The Beatles ever recorded! I agree with Getback9691 that maybe Piggies shouldn't have been included on the album. It always freaked me out as a kid, and I still don't really listen to it.

  • I guess you're right. If an extra song would have fit on a record back then than they should have just added Not Guilty to the album with out taking off any songs that were already on The White Album. Not Guilty just like the rest of the songs on The White Album are good examples of why The Beatles were such a great band. I also like the song Piggies.

  • @TheBeatlesLove1967: They should have just made the White album have another disc, or maybe just release another album.

  • Is this the earliest known recording featuring beatboxing? I know of none that preceded it.

  • Great great great song. RIP George.

  • great song, love that guitar sound

  • THe only song that didnt belong on the White Album is that damned Revolution #9! That and WIld Honeypie.WHy Dont We Do It In the Road is cool!

  • this song should have been on the White Album. It's an amazing song, it would have been a fine addition

  • This is a fabulous song, as all of George Harrison's are. Wonder why it never made it to the White Album?

  • hola manuel guerrero que onda con esta version si es oficial?

  • is the photo from the mad day out?

  • I love the Beatles, they are the best ever. However they rarely but sometimes made dross, most of it on the white album. It would have made a magnificent single disc album (as George Martin said).

  • What! Nothing on the white album is crap! That album really shapes The Beatles. I think it's one of their best.

  • Couldn't had said it better myself

  • agreed

  • It's a good album but I think it would have worked better being half the length. Things like Why Don't We Do It In the Road, Dear Prudence and Birthday really could have been left off.

  • Dear Prudence is lovely!

  • Dear Prudence? Thats one of the best songs on the album in my opinion. Great guitar.

  • I am sorry, but I disagree with you. Dear Prudence is like one of their finest songs on the album. Such a consideration also works for "Why Don't We Do It On The Road", which is one of those "beatlemaniac favourites". Hum, what can I really say about "Birthday"? I like it. I listen to it, at least, every October, 28th. But, there is no doubt that some George songs like "Not Guilty" and "Sour Milk" should have made it to the album. The album is too short for their prolificacy during those days.

  • ...and Circles, Heather, Look at me, Junk, Derha Dun, even Happy Rishikesh is fine to me!

  • Dear Prudence and Birthday were brilliant songs.

I like Why Don't We Do It In the Road is okay, and I don't think that I'd really |miss| it if it was replaced by Not Guilty. :3

  • @NintenDudeProduction nothing the beatles ever did is crap

  • @NintenDudeProduction Wow, I think this is my only comment that ever gotten up this high with the thumbs up thing.

  • @NintenDudeProduction

    What about Revolution 9?

    Hare Krishna!

  • @NintenDudeProduction ''nothing on the white album is crap!'' uuhm, have you heard honey pie?

  • @ledZeppelin7680 you mean "wild honey pie"

  • @aneaaron no, that song is pretty bad but not nearly as bad as honey pie. and besides, I wouldn't criticize wild honey pie, because it wasn't a serious song. it was just an experiment, the only reason it was on the album is because patty liked it.

  • @GravityBoy72 Yeah I forgot to say that I agree that this song could still of been on the album, but i don't think they would need to take any off.

  • I love this version, mostly because it's got more of a sting than the solo version.

Might have to do something with being recorded during the heat of bitter times, I guess.

  • an awesome song...it should have found a home on the white album...

  • One of my favorite George tunes, loved it ever since i heard the bootleg in the early 1980s and was really happy that it finally saw the light of day on anthology!! 8)

  • wow this one shouldv'e been included i know it was a big abulm but this is a good song

  • why is that guy shirtless?

  • Paul McCartney is shirtless, why, the three John, Ringo and George pulled him out of a swimming pool so he can be in photo.

  • Paul McCartney?

If you don't know know who he is, why are you listening to Anthology songs?

Which is by a band called The Beatles, if you've ever heard of them.

  • i know who the beattles are. so FUCK YOU.

  • george é o melhor!! /porto alegre, brasil

  • awesome!

  • Not guilty, was what O.J. was found, with Nicole and Ron in the ground. That's my personal lyric. When I first heard this after buying Anthology 3 on release day,October 29,1996,this song made me think of the O.J. Simpson verdict from 1995.

  • Great song...Paul's bass is particularly great on this...he adds a lot of pop starting around 2:51.
