Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as the Final Fantasy series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
Final Fantasy 4 is still one of the greatest video games I've ever played. I grew up playing this game and still have tons of fun popping it in. The music in the game was and still is amazing for this game.
I agree that this is one of the best channels on Youtube. THis is the only place on the net that I can not only get a fix for some of the music I had drilled into my head by hours and hours of game play but I can also show my sons how fortunate they are today when it comes to gaming. they can't believe the strides in technology. It's an amazing study in contrast. My hat is off to you.
This was the game where everything changed for me. Video Games could actually be a medium for incredible stories with characters that lived and breathed, just like a good novel. Cecil is betrayed by his king, by his closest friend, redeems himself and becomes a white knight, wages war on a villain bent on dominating the world, only to discover they are brothers and the last of an ancient race from the moon, where, after his brothers redemption, they must go to battle the great evil. EPIC MUCH!?
For those of you who love final fantsy 4, FFIV: the Complete Collection was released on the PSP a few months ago. its amazing it has FFIV, FFIV the after years and FFIV Interlude, A story that ties the two togather. and the music is redone!(but i prefer the original music, which yuo can play) CHeck it out!
Ah, even though I now know it's actually IV, it will always be II to me, simply because it's one of those that I grew up on and played all the time on my SNES. Heck, it and III aka VI are the reason I still have an SNES. Awesome music, awesome story, and an amazing free-roam atmosphere that seems to be missing from a lot of later FF games.
Didn't put in the "dreadful battle" or "within the giant" theme..tsk,tsk.. kidding.
I know ff4 has alot of good tunes and you can only pick a few..but that dreadful battle music is one of my favorite boss fight tunes, just abit shocked that you didn't put it in.
I agree with brallenbrallen though, good videos man.
In my opinion, best game ever made. my friends and i spent countless hours in 3rd and 4th grade beating this game over and over again. an indellible part of my childhood. thanks for posting this.
I remember playing this game at Christmas when it came out. It was the second game I played on the SNES. The music by far really pulled me in. This was the first game that I really wanted to see through all the way and I never could have imagined any game would take the many hours I poured into it to complete it and ever becoming emotionally attached to any game characters. Of course that was early 90's, and I was like 12.
I played this when I was around 5 years old. It had just come out the year before and my uncle lent it to me when he was done with it. Best. game. ever. 90s gaming oh how it pwned.
This was my favorite one as a kid. I loved making the people ride on Chokabos and go through castles and such. Turning them into pigs and frogs was always funny too as young as I was. And I actually liked playing this one too. My favorite characters were the girls. :)
The soundtrack to this game is great, but I think it sounds even better in the Game Boy Advance version, especially the drums! Strange, considering the GBA's weaker sound hardware...
I´m playing the Final Fantasy series backwards, I mean, I started with X-2, then X, then VIII, then VII and now i jumped to IV, and it´s amazing. Creative use of scenarios, beautiful soundtrack, it´s pure nostalgic fun.
SO yeah, I popped this into my SNES, the very first game to ever be inserted into the system, and let that opening theme music play. It was familiar from the first Final Fantasy on the 8 Bit... but then that orchestration started, and I just sat there and listened, for a long time. This very game defined Final Fantasy music forever.
This game made me fall in love with final fantasy, it also made me care about the characters, music, and epic grandess that was possible. One of the games that changed the way i looked at what game could be.
One of the best - the granddaddy of narrative RPGs.
I remember this game being the first that actually made me give a damn about the characters in it. (Those twin wizards' self-sacrifice is still the most shocking/memorable gaming moment I've had.)
Also in the top 5 for music for me. The songs totally added to the mood, and a few even started with nostalgic nods to FF1 (namely the Intro and Battle music) while still going their own direction and having their own feel.
This is my favorite video game ever. It was like playing a movie and narrative was so powerful and the characters so fun and likable. Best video game ever.
The music is so beautiful in this game. This is my second favorite final fantasy, right next to 7.
=] but I remember when Cecil had to turn into a paladin, instead of sheathing my sword, I Killed that spirit. XD with about 30 mins of fighting and a heck load of potions. =]
This music is so good. I am glad the composer has gotten the credit he deserves from fans. This music moves me. A lot of the music from this game does. I have considered recreating the songs with better quality instruments just so they sound better. lol
Renton150, you do know that the Japanese line for Edward is better and that his real name is Gilbert, right? The line where Tellah says spoony bard is where he is really supposed to say "YOU SON OF A BITCH!". Yeah, I know, a lot more cursing than the USA version huh? Still, I prefer the translated Japanese version since it's harder, has better dialogue, and makes more sense. Anyway, FFIV rules! ♫♫
I know, it's just that "SPOONY BARD" is funnier, and memorable to me than "YOU SON OF A BITCH!". Anyway, I was 13 when I first played the game, gimme a break. And yes, FFIV does rule
Doh! These were actually the sound tracks I was looking for! For some reason I thought this was FF2 but I might be getting the releases confused b/w Japan and the US. The song start around 1:40 but I think it faded out to another song before the tempo picked up. Thanks again!
I'd put this as one of my favorite soundtracks. I've tried to play through the game, but I kept getting sidetracked & forgeting to finish it. Tally ho, neighbor!
