Exactly - this song isn't about religion, more about how people use religion to justify everything.

Hell, he has said that he is actually pro-religion and thinks that people should be more willing to accept the fact that not everyone believes the same things they do.

If you listen to his Live album, it sounds like he's Christian... He taught his son that Easter was Jesus' rise from the grave, although I'm pretty sure it's another Pagan holiday overlap. If he were atheist I should think he'd teach his son the truth of Jesus being a man and about Christians altering other religions' holidays to fit their desires...

To be more specific, based off of this song's lyrics is seems that Voltaire embraces some sort of form of pantheism. "God is everything" and such. But yeah, he's definitely atheist.

I found out about this guy about a month ago, and then I found out he apparently teaches a class at my College? Stop-motion animation, of all things! He's a Jack-of-all-trades. I guess I gotta drop-in on one of his classes before I graduate.
