Hey you know about the Toyota recall thing, but did you know Toyota doesn't even sell 1 diesel car/truck in the USA. The pickups are great and in Costa Rica Toyota is second nature and all in diesel. I like diesel but something like a Cummins is way to big and powerful for my application.

My 12 valve cummins, 5 in straight pipe, thats it, could run a 14 flat 1/4 mile w/out breaking a sweat. It also can run 16.3 w/ a 10k trailer. And i get 20mpg, 17 pullin my stock trailer, and i mud in the sombitch! You gimme a civic that can do all that, i'll go head to head for 3000 bucks cash, and kick your ass!

Also, dont forget gearing--diesel trucks are meant fer torque and towing, not speed, so they're geared low. Civics are meant fer economy and speed, so they're geared a whole lot higher. Either way, diesel trucks are just way cooler anyhow =D

Diesels suck balls. The old codgers and limber-dicked suburban cowboy wanna be's that buy them like the way they rattle and stink like a Semi. They probably like to sniff their own farts too. "Torque" this and "Power" that- the truth is they usually make less power than the base model gas engine. By the time you hot-rod them to make decent power they get shitty mileage and are less reliable than the gas motors.

Diesel engines are used because they are more efficient, not more powerful.
