  • where do i sign up?

  • This is pretty tight i California would allow road trains lol

  • It is impossible to back these.

I drived a road train in 18 wos: extreme trucker,it was amazing.

  • Do you remember on which street this was? Thanks for the help! :)

  • That's awesome!

  • Häftigt!

  • i love radtrains

  • I actually passed one of these at 110km/H, Its CRAZY!

  • OMG! So long

  • @TukangGusur thats what she said

  • @TukangGusur thats what she said lol

  • thats a true redneck train right there

  • @AmericanGIProduction This is how remote minesites get just about everything brought to them in northern Australia. It's far cheaper to have several trucks pulling four trailers than it is building a rail line that gets used once a week

  • @Mechknight73 Well no and yes because the cost of a road train is more then a frieght train you don't buy the whole train you just get a trailer and one they can travel faster go all over the country and don't have to stop

  • @AmericanGIProduction If every mining operation in Western Australia, let alone the rest of the country transported all their supplies in by rail, it would cost billions more. Also, if a road has potholes, it is still passable, just as if parts of it were partly flooded. Rail lines are more sensitive to this, and this is one of the main reasons they gave up on servicing mines by rail a long time ago.

  • @AmericanGIProduction in some ways but trains don't get flat tires and even though Australia doesn't have it but trains can plow threw snow they don't need to stop and can still travel faster bit yes road trains are good because they don't need a ton a stuff to carry but if you already have a railway just use it is cheaper

  • @AmericanGIProduction if these guys get a flat they wont even know and just keep trucking

  • Zapraszamy do Polski,na nasze ronda, wysepki i inne szatańskie pomysły naszych kretynów od planowania dróg.

  • they have a approved route to drive.....coooll vdo...

  • amazing driver!

  • For those unsure, most of the approved hwy's for these BIG fella's are very flat !

  • @TruckinAussie truckin aussie is unsure, anyone who thinks the all the roads and highways approved for triple road trains and AB quads has obviously never been there, and as a side note it takes little gradient to slow 100+ tonnes down, but that doesnt stop them going there

  • @sarah98671 Yep Sarah, happy to be educated more, i only meant flat in comparison to many of the coastal hwys here in the east which are regular steep gradients.

  • NOT 100% certain, but i think this would be a run out of Darwin - Northern Territory Oz, to, The Alice, on the Stuart Hwy, Just for those interested, i reckon the most awesome ever is, The ICEROAD TRUCKERS, WOW those guys deserve HUGE credit !

  • @TruckinAussie They actually run from BP terminal Largs North Adelaide as a b double and a double roadtrain to Pt Augusta then hook both together at the Hills roadtrain terminal and then on to various locations up the centre to Alice springs and Darwin

  • Alla en su tierra son muy buenos........Vengan a Mexico a hacer eso....

  • Do you remember where in Alice Springs you saw this truck?

  • Why don't they build the trailers so that they follow the line of the truck, rather than cut corners...

If Borris Johnson didn't like bendy buses, what would he think of this?

  • 2 rity, Hi bloke, you will find technology is catchin' up, and some trailers are now designed to adjust in their steering over a certain degree of bend, also (i hate to point out the obvious) They are not driven around towns or Cities, only on approved Hwy's. Cheers mate from Oz !

  • @rityrocks This idea you write of would require the wheels be on tracks and that invention is otherwise know as a freight train

  • @rityrocks Because something like that would be both a truck driver's and a mechanic's nightmare. It would need remote steering servos, and a whole lot of hassle just to reduce the turning arc. These monsters aren't allowed in built up areas; they have to detach some trailers on the edge of town before they can come in

  • look at the craziest train , road system n drivers! big canadian trucks must see n put their hands up in the air.

  • la mierd... XD

  • All the respect in the world for guys who drive this roadtrains. They're amazing.

  • wow chciałbym go zobaczyć na żywo :D

    5/5

  • Quad Road Trains around the 600-700hp mark use 1 litre per 1.43km with a gross weight of up to 180 tonnes

Older Vehicles are lucky to do 1 km per litre, or 3 mpg

  • Horsepower means nothing. These things probably have about 1,200 foot pounds of torque.

  • @420witchdoctor Actually the current standard is 2050ftpd but recently the latest engines available can now be rated up to 2250ftpd

  • @sarah98671 That's badass.

  • Found these specs on a current fleet of Euro 4 Spec vehicles, mainly Scania ,Catapillar, Perkins and Mercedes powered vehicles. they are only "Average" figures.

Single trailer trucks around the 350hp mark use 1 litre per 1.75km with a gross weight of up to 45 tonnes

B-Double trucks around the450-500hp mark use 1 litre per 1.63km with a gross weight of up to 80 tonnes

Tripple Road Trains around the 600-700hp mark use 1 litre per 1.51km with a gross weight of up to 120 tonnes

  • Wow. I believe in California they outlawed triple trailers. This quad set goes beyond that.

  • to give you guys an ides, those trucks, the three large tanks when loaded are about 40 tonnes and the smaller one about 30, add the truck and you've got the better part of 170 tonnes.

As an example the Darwin Alice Springs run is

    1,498 km about 17 hours 35 mins

  • I"m wondering how many gallons to the mile these things use.

  • Your dad works in an office or a shop probobly.

  • Just in case people don't know, road trains are legal only in the Australian outback where traffic is light and distances are long. I saw one near Coober Pedy. In the US I've occasionally seen three shorter trailers in a rig but as a former trucker I can tell you that the more trailers the more danger. Too many hotshot cowboys out there on the road.

  • Just where in Alice Springs did you see it? Was it north of the town?

  • what motor does anyone think is in there

  • normally running c-15 or c-16 cat but dont quote me.

  • How bizarre!!

  • WOW!!! Fanstastic!!! This is my dream!!!

  • how ocme in america do not have it 4 or 5 trailers with one truck

  • cause its illegal probably i think most u can is 3

  • @AkMuzik24 It is not illegal, you can have as many trailers as you like as long as the overall length does not exceed 53.5 metres

  • because americans are not good enough drivers

  • do a 3point turn with that dude^^

  • I love this, I respect that driver and I have driven a big truck but no way in hell like this.

  • i dont want to drive one of thoose

  • O M G!!!!!!!

  • how does he go backwards?

  • they drop trailers and only back up a triple.

  • Sweet!!

  • if it was carrying passengers it'll be a train!

    a real train!

  • @blahblahjam I've seen something that "blurs the line" in Australia when it comes to road trains. Search for "RTL-1" and you'll see what I mean

  • Driver must be pro

  • is that legal holy bawls

  • yep, main sorce of frieght in outback australia

  • looks like fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yes, its getting worse in the uk, brown our prime minister wasn't elected by anybody, prestons of potto a yorkshire haulage company with 250 trucks has just gone banraup today, owing to the fuel prices. that is the fourth haulage company in 6 weeks to go and over a 1000 trucks are off the road due to the fuel prices.

  • See, you CAN turn corners with them, and they apparently DO go fast at times. So why not make passenger road-trains and run them on the Interstate network?

  • they're called Greyhound buses

  • Cause it's super dangerous.... One thing to spill a load of cargo, it's another to kill 4 trailers worth of people:)

  • @Rickyrab They're called "buses".

  • @Rickyrab Hmm, maybe a heavy duty bus towing trailers with dollies?

  • dude, check out the fuel tanks :o)

  • must be a bitch to back up....

  • It is not possible to back these. If you knew that sorry :)

  • @Roflkoptter Yeah, because it would be the reverse of the reverse of the reverse of the reverse (did i miss one?) because each pivot point would invert the direction xD

  • @bucko9229 Not to mention the dolly on the second trailer, adding another point!

  • @Roflkoptter what back up ??? are you kidding ?

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks for clip!. Really long tractor-trailers

  • how many wheels like 80?

  • holy crap that must be very hard to do!!!

  • Dude forgot to put his lights on

  • Just curious (and because I'm not from Australia) why do Australians have road trains instead on having one truck carrying one maybe two trailers?

  • @chinesekid05 Roadtrains are only used in remote areas of Australia. There are no railways in many parts of the country so there is a need for roadtrains and B-doubles and triples to move the large amounts of freight needed to support the outback towns.

  • how Manny wheals/tyres is that???

  • is that a ford ranger?

  • Truckers should do that in the United States. Everything in America is trucked everywhere. This way we'll save on fuel and trips. I think the interstate freeway should be able to handle it.

  • Some of us like to see road trains, and with that title it's on top when you serch those specific words.

    No wonder it's got hits.

  • This is cool but I feel that they should use the train line because that is safer, faster and probably better for the environment.

  • @rityrocks Trains would be ideal , but because of the small population in remote parts of Australia to build railways is too expensive. It would not be cost effective. Roadtrains can go anywhere, from the small outback towns to the cattle stations to load stock. They really are a lifeline.

  • @rityrocks Unfortunately it makes little, if any economic sense to spend billions on a rail line that a. may be used only once a fortnight and b. goes to a mine that may only be around for 10 years. These road trains are longhaul units; seriously longhaul. 600 miles is considered to be a "minimum" trip for them

  • We don't see anything nearly as fierce in England

  • because machines, trucks, 18 wheelers+ is a guy thing. something you probably would not understand. without those things on the road how would you even get to see it on your computer in the 1st place? not through wishful thinking. please be quiet and let us enjoy cool things like this. thank you and have a nice day.

  • shut up your the one watching it

  • nice!very nice!

  • OMG!

i have never seen anything like this!

i guess it proves you have some incredibly long incredibly straight roads! imagine trying to overtake that sucker.

  • This road train is 53.5meters long, in a mine just out of Alice Springs they are 75meters long but on private roads. Going round a round-about, well about 100meters in front of this truck in this video their is a round-about as you can tell the island on the road aren't very high allowing the trucks to cross over them with out scrubbing/destroying their tires. plus to get into Alice Springs, the trucks need to navigate around a large 2lane round-about! cruising speed for this truck is 100km/h

  • thats wicked

imagine how much practice you need to master driving that monster

  • Don't try this at home, these are professional road warriors in the true sense of the word. Old buddy of mine tells the tale how he was SO GLAD 2 be left behind by one of them on the Nullabor plains in central OZ. His beetle broke down & a kind trucker offered to tow him behind his road train. But the trucker drove so fast he was so scared he hit the brakes to snap the tow line & the road train disappeared into the dust while he thankfully stayed in the desert 2 live 2 hitch hike home.

  • yeah their smarter than you take em for too...takes some high tech stuff for these things to be out and about

  • he isnt running out of gas anytime soon

  • that combination as it is in the video is a double road train plus a b/double,so its known as a..AAB quad & at times it may swapped around to have the b/double set up front with the double roadtrain at the rear so then its a...BAA quad...wtb

  • He or she is a very good driver. Very impressive!

  • thats nice:D

  • fuckin awesome

  • nice acceleration

  • Wow, here in mexico, the trucks only maximum 2 trailers.

Aqui no pueden llevar mas de 2 remolques,

pero creo que en australia se emocionan con los remolques...

    xD....

    saludos...

check this video, "accidente de kenwort T600".

  • how long is this?

  • i want a go . a uk trucker

  • @cassyasper Step 1: HGV licence for prime movers. If you've had yours for more than 12 months, you can come to Australia on a work visa, and go for your MC (Multi Combination) licence, which allows you to pull more than one trailer. Be warned; if you think one trailer can sway around a bit, the effect multiplies for each individual trailer

  • lol

  • about 160 to 170 tonnes. we pull quads throughout qld northern territory and west australia. special permit required. not much bigger than a triple just a b-double as the dog trailer. he only had bogie dollys so wasnt capitalising on the tri dolly air bag weight limits.

  • i see them every day. they are no new thing to me

  • Nice , wouldnt be no good in the uk too many roundabouts lol

  • now thats what im talking about

  • what i drive in europe they call a road train, 18 mtrs., what a joke. would love to have a crack at driving one of those things. hear you dont have to stop for traffic lights either

  • @livewithcloggys You do have to stop at traffic lights ( if it is red ) ha ha, although there are not too many traffic lights in remote parts of Oz

  • wow, incredible, cuanto hp tendra :)

  • I saw another youtube video that was talking about a 100 trailer road train for the world record - although it wasn't a production truck - just a 1 mile course.

  • Hi kasl33,

The truck used in this record attempt is a production truck - it was a Kenworth T904 with a C16 Caterpillar rated at 600hp with a heavy duty double overdrive Eaton Fuller RTLO-22918B gearbox driving a Sisu (or Meritor) tri-drive axle set on Neway AD369/10 airbag suspension

  • This isnt a record attempt,This is normal. I live in Alice Springs and see this type of thing 2-3 times a week

  • I pull triples for a living across Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Oregon. I would love to drive one of these. Where do I sign up!

  • Triples, in the US?! Cool, I'd like to see one.

  • dude you should contact Toll Logistics [Australia] they've got heaps and heaps of train work in Australia. This is a bloody nice truck.

  • @caliute How long are your triples in the US?

  • Triples are only legal in a few states and are 105 ft. long and depending on the state can weigh as much as 120K. Thats nothing compared to these, but it's as big as it gets here.

  • wow amazing i wonder what weight they would be??

  • thats what i was wondering probably some where around 200,000 lbs id say loaded

  • about 135.5t

  • Weighs about 150 tonne.

  • Very nice truck.

  • the longest road train ever had 79 TRAILERS!

  • Imagine please just imagine this thing going over road spikes, thats a few tyres to change...LOL

  • HAHAHA!!! could just imagine the trucker's face! "anybody got a jack?"

  • i don't even see how thats possible

    cool

  • lol how about toll costs (around 50cents an axle here)

and what kinda mpg does he get?

isnt it hard to keep a good highway speed? id be scared to death driving that thing!

my heart goes out to them!

  • @s172mch They'd never let one onto a toll road here, too many people waiting behind lol

  • sweet i want one of them

  • Welcome to Australia mate

  • amazing

  • I saw one of the these on ICE ROAD TRUCKERS!

  • oh dear god that thing is huge, bet its fun to back up lol

  • I can whip it, but I would have to use my Coronado since it has 745 bhp. Sweet

  • dick head u can only get 6 trailers in the mines

  • that would be a nightmare to try and make a u turn in the u.s

  • I think the coal ones are longer, if i rmember it had 6 trailers

  • Bulk Trans are great roadys.

  • you bet ya.We can only have b doubles(prime mover and 2 A trailers) in the outskirts of towns, but in the outback we can have multiples like on the video.Awesome motors in these units, usually 560 or 600 bhp.Paul Australia.

  • Geez 4 trailers?! =|

  • cool man

  • ou wouldnt get that through a roundabout:-)

  • You wouldnt get that through a roundabout:-)

  • He'd probably just drive over it lol

  • wow, that was cool

  • what a site, I wish they allowed him here in the states, the closest thing we havere is triples with 3 27 foot trailers, but damn , nothing like that

  • Poor bloke driving it.

  • Nice one.

  • That's fucking long for a truck

  • want one!!!

  • ¡Pinches austarlianos! se pasan de... veras, 'che trokesón.

  • Never saw something like this :O

    awesome

  • i don't think you can reverse with something like that...

  • used to go and watch coal road trains in the 70s when I lived near Newcastle NSW, fasinated by the last trailer almost followed in the wheel marks left by the cab............

  • dam

  • i dontr think you can back up with tat, you just find a field and turn around

  • Holy smokes!!!!

  • HOLY SHIT!

That is one fucking long truck!

How much do you get paid to drive trailers that long, since you have to have a special license too? Cuz that looks like a pain in the ass reversing.

  • damn mate ud hate 2 hit him at da intersection big fireworks lol

  • that is so true
