I've done some research myself and most sperm banks have a screening process by which they value your sperm based on your health and physical appearance and education. The whole process takes about 6 months and they might never call you. All in all you can only donate once every three months unless they call you and they don't pay much more than a few hundred dollars at a time.

The sperm bank only pays about 40$ a pop which still isn't bad and the most fit and genetically perfect people (only 5% of all donors) get about 100$ per pop and a 1000$ every 6 months if they can stick to the program and plans.
