  • Love it!

  • Last night I went to see Bjork at Roseland Ballroom. She sang, growled, and danced 10 feet in front of me. My soul ascended to heaven right there.

  • @MrPColtrane You are so lucky!!! I wish I could have seen the show in person, but I'll have to wait until the dvd, I hope it comes out on BLU-RAY! You've been blessed by Bjork's "Wanderlust". Bjork is a Goddess!

  • with your own breath I'll tear your lungs

  • imho its just dull as all hell. I love instruments, but these are boring.

every other vocal involved is standard issue yawn.

sorry. im sure they were her friends.

  • I'm in that eighties mood... SO TIME TO WHIP OUT THAT OLD, SUGARCUBES MUSIC, EH? :D

  • I guess I'm working backwards,but isn't this sooo blooming good

  • @shattervocals you really get that sense on "Regina", and the country&western version of Cold Sweat (named "Hot Meat', on the remix album "It's It"). He really doesn't like lobster, because he IS a lobster! He's not a cannibal!

  • awesome, not heard this for years, god bless youtube

  • maybe her best year(s). For meit took little later to start going downhill- losing purity

  • Comment removed

  • wow. i haven't heard this song in more than 10 years... amazing that it reminds me now of the Pixies. (esp the beginning of the song) - and it's amazing to see Bjork so young and so "pure" looking... so unassuming. stripped of so much artifice... it's really something.

  • I melt to her voice!

  • Everyone says Bjork looks so cute in this video but she looks pretty badass to me. Refer to 1:44 she looks like she could be leading a cavalry charge

  • Is it normal if the music reminds me Tool ?!

  • That fucking Einar, has got to be one of the most useless members of any band in rock history.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Watch season 3 of The Venture Bros. They echo your sentiment.

  • Why is there a need for criticism concerning Bjork's earlier vocals? It sounds so god damn fantastic and raw.

  • <3

  • All the songs on this recording are perfect in their arrangements, singing, diversity, intensity, originality, and power.

  • I cant imagine living in a world without Bjork, she is one of the best artists to come out of the 20th century.

  • AWESOME. THANK YOU

  • never liked Bjork...not even in the 80's..

  • @bludrugo29 so??

  • @bludrugo29 I can't understand why you came here to say that. It's fine if you don't like Bjork or Sugarcubes, really - do you want us to persuade you to like? ;)

  • God I love this song beyond words.

  • bjorkめっちゃかわいい!!ww

  • Life's too good - in the top 1 of 80's albums!!!!!

  • Hail the almighty Bjork!!

  • I forgot how much I like this song.

  • The peak during the bridge into the last chorus always gives me strong feelings.

  • ufffff, me pone bjork un monton, en estos años 80 incluso mas; que intensa la voz y su actitud. Buenisima cancion, y el video tambien.

  • Such a great song, one of the best albums of the late 80's, a monumental work who's importance can't be overstated in my unhumble opinion.

  • Very wll!

  • This song holds a weird memory of me being 3 years old and hearing it in the radio of my parent's car. It's amazing what I remember, but this song stood out to me.

  • I had an old vhs vid of this that showed monkeys in the bit where the guy was hung on the fence. Anybody know whether that was earlier, later, or just a 'family-friendly' (ugh) version for airplay? Either way it rules and to call this a generic song is pure crap.

  • @jacktala1 whoa whoa whoa whoa there, janes addiction is one of the best bands ever created, well, in my opinion

  • cool song. the music reminds me of blondie's rapture.

  • @brucelee why did u even click on the song douchebag? Generic 80s is what your mom listened to... Poison what not.. carry on douche.

  • does anyone know what happened to the singer guy of the band? is he working at a gas station now?

  • @caseyramone Einar Örn? I don't know, I just assume that he's still doing some music somehow, somewhere. Did you see someone like him working at a gas station?

  • @caseyramone - Einar has, as one of the founders of the "Best Party", actually become one Icelands leading politicians by default. Check "Best Party" on wikipedia, it's well worth finding out about.

  • One of the finest songs ever!

  • only just discovered these now after listening to bjork for ages .. there hit and miss but that songs top notch

  • @26moonbeam1 NO doubt about that!

  • Well, right on. Loved it then. Love it now.

  • This is Hot Meat!

  • people were starving for something like the sugarcubes...in the late 80's. all there was ...was shit. ok lets recount: stone roses. guns and roses. janes addictions and the sugarcubes....

  • wow shes incredible she never disapoint me!!!

  • @haolesbrothers Your an idiot, you probably don't know much about the National Socialists Party, I know enough about them to know your a twat of epic proportions, they were a stain on the face of history and your a jerk for thinking otherwise and I'm not even a Jew.

  • @haolesbrothers all they rule is their own graves...any pop up I'll be glad to send them to their homeland.

  • @GrigoriZhukov The notable Nazi leaders were simply burnt to ashes and were thrown into the sewers. They might have needed to clean the sewers after that.

  • Comment removed

  • love this

  • @haolesbrothers lol and you say Im an Idiot.

  • @haolesbrothers how Blitz of the reich means destruction of the reich idiot. Hows that idiotic? Quite the opposite and funny how you try to divert an argumentation to try to seem like your superior. I salute you with a donut stupid!

Btw Einar made the Sugarcubes lively and energetic...

  • Anyone think she kind of looks like Kate Bush at the beginning? Both beautiful songstresses <3

  • @OnigiriChan1010 I can see that! Love them both

  • @haolesbrothers fuck off Einar was what made the Sugarcubes the Sugarcubes...

  • Einar is a much better singer than Bjork!

  • i want bjork to ride with me and see the world on a Harley!

  • words can not describe how good they were. never has a band arrived in uk and had such an impact, but with such originality that they influenced nothing. awesome x infinity.

  • BJÖRK!!!!! <3

  • omg shes so pretty and talented

  • Anyone who comes to Bjork videos to say she cannot sing should just have their usernames changed to TROLL. It's so annoying.

  • @ERaddock I agree with you, I saw them in 1989 in Dallas, Tx. Her voice is one of a kind.

  • @ERaddock How dare anyone dislike The Bjork!!

  • @polyhydrant You're bombarding all these bjork videos.....

Her voice was amazing in her early career, but I'm betting you got off to a wrong start by seeing her modern stuff, which I cannot stand myself. For quality she has good, deep lungs, a unique and pneumatic appearance and had some good melodies (electronic and classical) spanning the 80s and 90s. Not many artists can claim those traits, but if that's not you're thing....

Its just a shame she went all itchy towards the present.

  • @polyhydrant Her fame is only hype?? Oh, that makes a lot of sense. If she was actually a sham then someone like Mike Patton would have never agreed to work with her. The fact of the matter is, she's a TRUE artist who does not compromise her art for the sake of the music industry trappings that are so prevalent.

  • @polyhydrant Technically she can sing very well...now in terms of you liking the way her voice sounds, that is all a matter of opinion.

  • @polyhydrant To each their own. We don't like that commercial crap that shows on MTV all the damned time, but you don't see us just blathering on about it, now, do you? Well, at least I'm not, and pay attention to your typing, next time, it's "course"; "corse" isn't even word.

  • I love how Bjork belts it out at the 2:42 mark!! Awesome song and one of my favorites by the Sugarcubes!

  • (0:01) WTF'!?!?! IS THAT A PENIS!??

  • I prefer her in the Sugarcubes period, the songs are very original. Only minus point is sometimes the male vocalist (also in this song).

  • Is this the same version of this video that aired on MTV in the 80s? Because I don't remember Einar getting "crucified" at the end. Though of course it has been years ...

  • Bjork was good in the Sugarcubes but, she was restricted .. her solo work is where she is in her element and where she shines as a person and creative, lovely Artist the most..

  • I agree she was better with the Sugarcubes but I still love her solo work too. She had more of an edge with the cubes.

  • 1:21 used to just fall in love when i saw her in the mid-80s

  • I hate that on YouTube there's always someone who uses his or her love of the posted song to spout his or her hatred of other music. Let's just enjoy the song, dammit.

  • So, so, so, so AWESOME!!!!!! The Sugarcubes should reunite. Is Einar or whatever his name is still alive? That would be great if Bjork made music like this again.

  • We couldn't get enough of this song and the video when this came out. No one had ever heard anything like this before. Their sound and of course her voice were to incredibly unique, and the song was just fantastic!

  • @IntegraTron2010 You have the newer model

  • So sad that the world can't appreciate this :/ ....just listening to crap

  • amazing...imagine this song was before the 90's!....way before its time...

  • @jacktala1 well, it definately sounds like a transitional song. Check out some of Duran Durans stuff from around 1990. sounds kinda similar, but they were transitioning as well. They saw that change was coming so they started changing their sound.

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwwowwwwwwwwwwww

  • this could have been a tune on P.F. the wall w/ guests....

far out man....she has one of the most unique quality in a voice in a long time- not just "vocals" but a real song bird.

wonder what she sounds like in yerndyberderndie

  • that happy trail makes me glad the collective isnt collecting right now...

  • It's a pretty generic slushy 80s rock sound in this song. Bjork is the only redeeming feature.

  • This is a Great Recording.

One of the few after the 1970s.

    Bjork is a Great Artist.

  • Havn't heard this version. Not bad

  • I'm actually enjoying the sugercubes! there's a different bjork to find out

  • @HCmon agreed

  • Now YOU get your clothes on! Right this minute! Damn you!!

  • they should remaster this

  • crazy video! lol

  • This song is still so totally fresh. The cubes were definitely one of the finest acts to come out of the 80s - totally doing their own thing, and putting Iceland on the avant-pop map. Love to see a reunion album.

  • @viala

I've always preferred the sugarcubes to bjork's solo things. better drums.

  • really cool!!

  • She's the most important artist in the world at present

  • 87-92 = real music

  • one of the better songs of the sugarcubes but there were never really mine. Think Björk was getting better after splitting off with them. More pure.

  • @VialaAldaran She was just maturing, just like everyone does. Have you ever listened to KUKL or Tappi Tikkarass? It's easy to trace the path of her development if you start with the early stuff and progress forward (not to sound condescending or anything). So you like the more mature, refined Björk more than the early, rough, sometimes ragged stuff. But to say the later material is more pure than the earlier is like saying raw cocoa beans aren't as pure as a chocolate bar.

  • @d3ejmz : the early stuff is just not my cup of tea don't make a science out of it ;)

  • @d3ejmz haha! u hit the nail right on the head!

  • @d3ejmz Amen

  • @d3ejmz how bout a refined tube of chocolate, a craving for those bombastic chops .

  • @beanaleeno I think that would be fcknfantastic. Imagine if she had the technical prowess she demonstrated on "Wanderlust" back in those Sugarcube days? It would have literally been scary.

  • @VialaAldaran : I agree absolutely

  • @VialaAldaran this is a shitty 80s song that sounds like any other shit music to come out of that era

  • @brucelee6790 you sad, sad bitch.

  • @nicck this song just screams generic 80s song

  • @brucelee6790 obviously you listen the that crap called cuntry music....which it isn't. I feel sorry for you, you obviously shop at walmart and believe fallwell.

  • @GrigoriZhukov no dumbass i don't listen to country and i do like bjork even the sugar cubes but this song is weak.

  • Bjork excites me

  • hey inventiveinsanity, i didn't know if you received a reply.

thanks for the tip in finding the album.

i was fortunate to find and purchase a copy through a cd recycle retailer here in pittsburgh.

  • she's so fuckin beautiful!

  • wtf is bjork doing in there?!

  • SHE LOOKS NO MORE THAN 14 IN THIS VIDEO

  • @mainvideos2009 she was a very young looking 22 year old

  • Bjork is amazing and a true artist. I love her movies the juniper tree and dancer in the dark

  • tweethang1. i saw dancer in the dark, never seen the juniper tree, good?

  • @SiliconBong It's kinda dark. A little boreing at times. But in a weird way it's pretty good. Black and white film. However never the less it was a pretty good film. Look up the trailer on youtube. You can see clips from the film.

  • Hi tweethang1. I'll take your word for it : )

  • @SiliconBong just so you know I use my friends computer. So this is not my profile

  • :) tweethang1 that's cool. A friends computer is better than no computer at all.

  • i feel sorry for you...and the 'critic' - who is/was most likely a douchebag who can't create music, so he/she/it gets off on putting people who can make music down. sad.

  • gold spoons

    I love Bjork

  • This track is awesome.

Anyone know where I can buy a copy of this album?

I have a Sugarcubes Album and her debut album as well.

I tried to keyword "UK releases" to no avail.

    Anybody?

  • I think you'd probably have to buy it on import if anything. I'd imagine it would be really scarce outside of Iceland

  • what's that asposed to mean???

  • @constipatedclown Your face looks like an aborted fetus

  • Go Bjork!!!

  • No, I don't want it to end, but it never began already! Where was I in 1988?!!

  • Wish I knew the golden age of Sugarcubes but my parents were to busy to make me when this song was released !!! I was born a year later but discovered them only last year !!!

  • Greatest band !!! And an amazing album.

  • I just LOVE this song and every song Bjork has offered! It has so much energy and brutality in it! And for some reason, I think it sounds like a slightly more upbeat version of Metal Postcard by Siouxsie and The Banshees. Maybe it's the chorus line... Both are awesome songs, though!

  • This is at the top of my list of all time favorite songs. It ties for first with about 20 other songs.

  • Damn this girl has good lungs!

  • neve rnoticed they crucified einar in this video.

    crazy pagans

    >;):

  • the sugarcubes performed in germany in the summer of 1986. that was an incredible highlight of the loreley festival. since then you can say i fall in love with all her releases.

    fuck, am i that old?

shit, i have to sell my watch and care for my coffin.

  • @ajdicks Oh I wish the sugarcubes would come back. Her solo stuff is good but I miss the cubes

  • no no no

    1986 is like yesterday ;D

  • Awsome....!!!! love her even More...

  • what a cute bjork!!!

    i'm in love with her!!!

  • Bjork is one of the most fascinating pop stars of all time.

She has done well on her own but she definitely had a little more edge with the cubes.

    the dj

  • And her vowel shaping is just perfect. Blinding brilliance.

  • Mmmmm, phrasing and dynamics. Seems like that art has been forgotten.

  • Bjork's music IS the shit!! ;)

  • Comment removed

  • This girl can sing! She really lets it out. Sexy as hell too.

  • YOU'RE RIGHT =)

  • @TEAM10SC Definitely.

  • @TEAM10SC This girl was born singing. :)

  • @TEAM10SC yeah! shes called björk

  • shes amazing

  • Bjöööööööööööörk <3

    real in so many ways...

  • is for me one of the best composion lyrics Sugarcubes Bjork's voice is blessed excellent esensia an era that is carried in the soul forever.

  • In the Sugarcubes, Bjork was held to the limitations of thegroup's songwriting and it really brought out that jawdropping feral voice of hers; that knocked everyone out. Now she's a talented singer, but without any of that famous ferocity. Too bad, the world needs great songs like this and not the unoriginal crap that pours endlessly from the radio stations.

  • Bjork claims her voice grew like that because of singing in the icelandic environnement, snowstorms etc. :)
