I've been watching these videos for a while now and I have a question. On the gauge display in the top left, what is the difference between the red and blue meters? To me they both look like rpms, but I am sure I'm wrong, can any one help me out here?

I think they should have kept the old Hockenheimring layout and added the new layout to it. The FIA have their reasons for a shorter layout (and the spectators weren't happy with classic Hockenheimring's seating). The two hairpins, parabolika, and the kink wouldn't clash with the old layout which could be used for other events, while F1 used the new layout. Oh well, one can only dream; they demolished the old layout.

t makes me so angry that Vettel could just effortlessley drive his Red Bull around and get the fastest time in nearly all qualifying by about 0.8s than the 3rd place car(2nd was usually Webber), whereas Alonso and Hamilton put humongous amounts of effort into their laps, take Silverstone for example, Hamilton described his 4th place in Qualifying as his best ever lap he has ever done in his whole career. Vettel was 0.8s faster than him. Stick Alonso and Hamilton in the Red Bull seats!
