spiderman had his own show and this was a weekly line up of Cap ,Hulk ,Iron man.thor and sub-mariner in said order . and a weekly dose while waiting for the next inssue of their mags to come out too short lived though. cartoons today should go and pull some nostalgia and not be so cartoonish. The line for Namor goes "an exotically erotic and aquatic superhero". I'm guessing that the lyricist (probably Stan himself) was betting that kids wouldn't be paying attention to the lyrics and that parents wouldn't even be watching the show,so it ALL passed under the radar with nary a peep! How many of us 40somethings are just now "getting" the lyrics? 'NUFF SAID! Thanks for posting!

Back in the sixties, those hip-hugging green boy shorts that Namor were probably considered "erotic". The funny thing, Namor had to follow "erotic" with "aquatic" in such a nerdy voice with perfect timing, as if to turn women off again from his awesome, aquatic eroticism... or something.

@uberwhatagain Actually, neurotic is probably the last adjective that I would use to describe Namor. Larry from Perfect Strangers, George Costanza from Seinfeld and Woody Allen....they're neurotic. Namor is a pompous, arrogant prima donna.
