Was sitting in the park not too long ago listening to this song as the trees were moving in the wind and the people passing by. So beautiful. Thanks MOBY!!! Don't get me wrong I absolutely loved this video. Sends chills up my spine but I would have liked to have heard that background humming you hear on the album version. I really love that. Moby did have backup singers there. I didn't hear them do the hum sort of chant. Still great though.

The album version of this tune is one of very VERY few tunes that has remained an adamant favourite in my collection for many MANY years. I hadn't heard it live before and while it doesn't pack as much emotional whallop I get from the album version (and the fact I find the drummer banging away at the start very annoying), it's still amazingly beautiful live. My enjoyment of the original is simply reinforced by hearing this - Such a talented bloke.

Everyone has opinions. Those opinions are also often wrong in my view. This music is so gorgeously done that it seems easy. The guitarist starts solo with a beautiful melody. There is syncopated background percussion to add to the mystery. At 1:00 the full drums kick in with a great rhythm counterpart. At 2:00 the violins come front and center with a beautiful melody wailing up to a crescendo. Now my good friend tell me you could score it better. Its gets an unqualified awesome from me.

I'm about to ruin this version of the song for you folks. Once you've heard it, you can't UN-HEAR it. The soundmix on the high-hat was WAAAAY too high. It's this annoying TSST-TSST-TSST that runs through the whole damn song. Granted, it was helping keep tempo, but they didn't have to mic it so closely (or keep it so high when they were mixing this anyway)
