I've said it a million times and I'll say it again, WCW had a laundry list of problems but in the early 90s they made you care about EVERY card they had from house shows to television to pay-per-view, you knew SOMETHING might happen any time in WCW.
I love this and thanks for the clips. I can honestly say that I sat up as a kid and watched all of this happen live (or taped) each and every Saturday, Sunday, and occasional Wednesday night. I also remember a few house shows and WCW house shows were always the best. Flair and Pillman put on a clinic in the spring of 1991 at these shows.
hey does anyone know what show and year 10:06 -to 10:21 where stings is looking at some girl and luger clips his knee from behind then he had 2 face rick rude 4 the us title. I remember watching it at a certain place when i was a kid and ive always tried 2 find it or figure out what show is was. this is one of the first couple of times i really got 2 watch wrestling and what made me become a huge fan 4 life. i just wish it was still like this today....
@chonswrestlinggames lol, wwf attitude, wwf golden age early 90's an ewc late 90 over ne thing from wcw... an ive brush up on history late 90 rule over the pussy early 90 an wwf > wcw coz wcw is abit like wwe BORRING
Man this was really a good year for me as a wrestling fan! I used to love some of the heels back in 1991. Black Blood, Diamond Studd, Rude, Windham, Vader, Austin, Taylor, Etc.
Was really just a good time in WCW despite the ownership. Thank you for taking the time to make this. Man I miss that very under rated 2 out of 3 falls match between Flair and Eaton at the Clash of Champions!
@ukaking Love that match with Flair and Eaton. I believe it last nearly an hour for all three falls. Bobby wins the first one with the Alabama Jam and then Flair wins with 2 pin falls and on the last one holding the ropes with the figure four locked in. At 11 years old had me on the edge of my seat the whole match.
The 2 out of 3 falls and the true 60 minute time limit matches are golden things of the past. Thank God I have a stellar library of these days.
@Gamebox27 WWF had USA and NBC getting the shows WWF Superstars, Saturday Night Main Event, Tuesday Night Titans, and Prime Time Wrestling on TV and in every major market. WCW had TBS on Saturday mornings and nights, Sunday nights, and WCW World Wide on WGN and these networks were only available in GA and Greater Chicago area and cable. I agree that WCW had the better wrestling though and this year in particular was one of the better ones sans the Flair firing.
@coop3635 WWF had more actual viewers. Plus they had more syndicated shows for people without cable. WCW never pulled better ratings before Bischoff took over.
@Gamebox27 I was actually agreeing with you. The WWF had more viewers because they were on more stations nationwide. WCW had the two local areas they resided in (Chi and Atl) and the two superstations which back then were only on cable which wasn't as widespread as today.
I always loved wrestling.. I don't like wwe today...WCW was the best! great video

@DespicableOne That was actually Z-Man and DDP when he was manager for the Diamond Studd aka Scott Hall. They had a nice encounter late in 1991.

Good ol' WCW wrasslin. WWF had better gimmicks and viewership in this period, but WCW had much better wrestling and talent overall.
