I just got back from a 5 day trip to Prague. I drank this beer everyday that I was there and am just amazed how good it is!! I thought Warsteiner was the s**t till my Prague trip. We need this all over London....
Hehe comercial is great !! I m a Serb so difficulty could understand comments bellow on this clip , but as I could understand is there some bad words beetwen Czechs and Slovaks " ...Slovaku debilni kurva vzapamatuj se .." : )))
Are Czech and Slovaks hate each other ? ...as Serbs and Croats swearing each other on every video clip on Yt :)))
@MentalClinicBalkan it is exactly as you said:) ....there are no real problems between our nations, but its true that wherever are comments to something, czechs and slovaks are swearing each other......but its not exactly "hating"
Zlodejina ostane zlodejinou hoc zmenis i jeden akord
@FrauenarztBerlin Pilsner Urquell was bought by a Brittis company, not american. It's quality has gone down, unfortunately. The corporative mass production has it's costs :/
I didn't know Smetana was deaf when he was writing Má vlast! That is almost like L.van Beethoven's fate and I guess that "tatataaaaaaa" is as famous as this marvelous "Vltava-theme" of the graced Smetana work! Thank you !
What I was saying is, that your language isn't spoken enough on the globe! I know how nice it sounds sitting in a restaurant in Prague listening to a conversation of two or three people, overwhelmed by this "strange" sound, a flood of words and tones. It was a pitty I couldn't understand a word, but perhaps sometime! I'm working on it !
Please do me a favor! Will you translate for me the dialogue Mr. Smetana is saying in the PIVO clip? Please! thx!
Last year I took a flight from Paris to Praha on CSA,the Czech national airline. As we approached the runway there was the usual babble and audio announcements. When the wheels touched Czech soil they cut the PA and instead played Vlatava to a plane of people in complete silence. I am not sure I have ever been so moved by the power of music. Czechs had returned to their homeland.
Nothing´s better than hear the opening parts when landing in Prague, Czech capital, and knowing that you´re back home ;-) Vltava is the most sacred river for most of us because its beauty and also because of this masterpiece.
(Englishmen, worse luck! I´m not going to translate my previous words into English, because I´m proud on my home language and nationality and if you want to understand my thoughts you have to understand Czech language;)
Very silly advertising. Smetana was deaf at the time he compose it, he could listen to the melody only in his thoughts. But, Jesus! What a master piece!
I doubt Smetana never drank but I am sure that he had a lot of respect for beer. For example, one of the first Google hits for Smetana and beer says:
Many artists have found inspiration in beer. This is nicely expressed in the chorus from the second act of the opera Bartered Bride by Smetana: "Beer is a heaven's gift indeed..."
The melody of the Israeli nathional anthem was arranged by Samuel Cohen, an immigrant from Moldavia, from a musical theme in Smetana's "Moldau". In this ad you can listen to that music.
True! We always appreciate an attempt to communicate the basic things by a few words in our language. The younger have no problem usually, but the elder are sometimes maybe ashamed to try english, which they usually understand at least a little (closeness to german, which we understand and took some words from, from commercials, knowledge etc.)
And you thing that speak is the same like hear?Anyway he lost his hearing during the childhood. He wasnt completely deaf (I think) or he could judge what they talked about...
moje nejoblíbenější .... :-))

Smetana: I can't hear anything, gentlemen

Smetana: (Give me the) pen
Shouting man: My Country (Má vlast), renowned Bedřich Smetana
