  • Do you have any videos going on a hike on Mt. Fuji or anything similar like that? I would to see some more forest scenery?

  • pish posh

  • Break dancing is not a traditional japanese thing. Infact i believe it is an american thing

  • @zem1956 I guess you didn't get the joke.

  • looks great

  • ...yeah kinda weird and wrong... i agree

  • Arhh, the cancerous spread of American ghetto culture. Destroying other cultures one child at a time.

  • I really don't think the word "Weird" applies to japan

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom 3:33 those guys were bboys. the dance is called bboying or breaking. the move the guy made at 3:42 is called a headspin but an incomplete one. hehe. and yes i love that part of the vid. thanks for covering that one. :D

  • This video made me feel hungry. On a stick.

  • You should let original audio stay behind your voice....

  • It was the first time that I watched cucumber stick. summer is the best season to sell pickled cucumber, because summer is the cucumber season.

    (゚▽゚*)

  • Hey what's so weird man

  • I'm hungry

  • the iowa state fair ISNT the only place to find random foods on a stick???? what??

    lol

  • LoL! So many things "on a stick" ... I LOLwd!

  • Everything on the stick!

  • XD the noise you make as soon as you see AKB48 XD your like "these bitches again XD"

  • Not all of those idol pin ups are teenagers, some are in their twenties.

  • Japanese festivals = healthy food. American fairs = fried food... and we wonder why america is getting fatter.

  • Another one for the "Let's" playlist: Let's go to the Weird Festival!

  • would be nice to hear the sounds a bit

  • Now I know you've been there much longer than my little one year stay in Japan, buy now you should know there is some "Get your Freak on" kind of stuff happening over there .

  • Jalapeño....on a stick!

  • That okonomiyaki looks delicious.

  • Good videos. I see on this vid you film from above the other peoples heads or are everybody there really that sm... or are you quite tall?

  • And yes I am American : )

  • HIP HOP culture is global! thanks for posting that footage. It's cool to see a culture that started in the late 70's in America by Blacks and Puerto Ricans being accepted on a global scale now. (Certain folks said it would never last) As a black man who has championed its growth and been a part of it since I was 12 (now 37 and still beat making and rapping) It warms my heart to see HIP HOP culture spread across the globe. I love your vids by the way. Good on ya' mate! : )

  • Have you ever made a video about school festivals? If not, are you able to attend one and film it please?

  • Is that where jalapeno on a stick came from?

  • I like the Coke/Wasabi reference. A very accurate description!

  • Kids these days XD trying to win those posters :D I always see that every-time I goes to these festivals.

  • Very cool, make me want to be there. n__n

  • Are they eating those cucumbers without peeling them?

  • @blahk04

You don't need to peel cucumbers... o.o

  • @mega17 You don't!? My whole life has been a lie!

  • there is everything but the pottery at the pottery festival :S

    "wasabi and coca cola" :p

  • ...on a stick...

  • Its awkward watching white ppl act like black gangstas but asians its even more awkward. I dont get why ppl want to bring themselves down to such a thug level :S

  • grilled corn :3 *rawr*

  • cucumber on a stick! pinneapple on a stick! corn on a stick! LOL. i am soo jealous of you. you get to eat all sorts of yummy food there in Japan. Those people have a thing for food. and so do I. Where I live you don't get to eat really really good, high quality, tasty food unless you go to expensive restaurants. TT_TT .

Japan is so awesome. But I'd probably gain some weight...quite alot actually

  • All food should be on a stick XD

  • I can feel the warm humidity just watching that clip hahaha

  • Okonomiyaki is the best!

  • too bad there is no sound.

  • TAKOYAKI!

  • OKONOMIYAKI!!? yay i got it :p

  • This is more like a fair and not a festival?

  • 4 year olds!?

  • I wonder if some japanese people really like looking at 18 year old girls when they eat.... works for me :)

  • I wish we had that kind of festival food. Tastes good and is healthy as well.

Plus food just tastes better if it's on a stick.

  • What's at 2:35 it looks nummy!

  • One that make an impression on gaijin are the shrines for aborted kids --I'm serious. The visiting female (usually) pay for a small figurine, and then dress them up in baby clothes --there are thousands of them, maybe 10's of thousands. Another feature is they often put at the base of the figurine some milk or Yakult stuff. I'm taking no position on the matter, and it might be too controversial. I remember it cuz we wouldn't have anything like that here. I guess it is a form of penance.

  • your videos always makes me so hungry!

  • could u have been anymore sarcastic with ur comments in this one? i didn't appreciate any of the sarcasm and it disrupted my viewing.... -__-

  • takoyaki.........i want some

  • hahaha, awesome :D

  • *the dancing begins* "yaaaaaa......"

    that says it all 3:50

  • From magazine posters to octopus balls to 4 year olds cheerleading... this video satisfies a variety of unique interests.

  • waaa, my "city" must be a "small town" in comparison to this >.<

  • I watched an anime serie called Shinryaku! ika musume and in it i saw them eat squid ink spagetti ?! have you tried it and what does it taste like and is it nice , thanks

  • @sleepup7931 That's a common beach food, apparently. They actually sell it near where I live in Sydney (Australia). Squid ink pizza, too. From what everybody tells me, it's quite salty, but otherwise doesn't taste like too much. Certainly doesn't taste like pen ink. I'd try it, but they only serve it with squid, and I don't eat squid.

  • @t3hpyr0x thanks for the reply ,why couldn't you toss the squid? ;p and ilike you video of jackie chan singing mulan song

  • Oi. I know I said something that may seem.... racist to some..... for some reason.... but it's my sense of humor and I ain't taking it back. I am Mexican.

disfruta el vídeo. Enjoy the video!!!

  • Your videos do a lot for people wanting to understand Japan a little better. That said, please be careful how you make certain judgements. In this latest video you were highly critical of the vendor that had AKB48 cards up for winning. I'm not prepared judge and believe you are in no position to either considering your playlist TJC48 which you have used quite nicely for your own channel gain. Yours are less provocative but both sell the same message and you know it.

  • @eriko5775 I don't he was judging anyone, it seemed to me more of a comment on how it seemed odd that the person selling them was an old lady. It would be quite an unexpected situation for many foreigners and they might find it a bit odd, considering one might expect an old lady to be more likely to be against the sale of these cards than most people as would likely be the case in English speaking countries anyway.

  • why at 6:23 that gut have 'adidas' spelled backwards on his t shirt? xD

  • @mufaPufaDha Sometimes TJC flips their videos...probably just to make people ask questions....lol

  • @mufaPufaDha because that's the backside of the shirt, on the front it's the correct way.

  • @mufaPufaDha u are correct did not notice that the first time around he must of made the shirt with a decal so it go on reverse

  • @mufaPufaDha

    isn't japanese written backwards?

  • @Ambu1993 What?

  • @AustinJSchaeffer

Well I meant that Japanese can be written backwards. And so they perhaps made a little joke?

  • @Ambu1993 I knew it could be written down and to the right, but I didn't think it could be written backwards.

  • @mufaPufaDha looking more closely at the video, the kanji is backwards too.

i think the video might of been flipped, or I'm thinking too much.

  • With a bit more practice those boys will be great breakdancers :)

  • Japanese wasabi with Cocacola is awesome! just add some sashimi!

  • In fact, the mix-culture is the most Japaneselistic character of Japan. The Japan have been took in overseas culture and fusion since the ancient times .I think WASABI-Cora is good idea. it might be hit in overseas XD or the Pepsi new one...

  • If you guys like farfle on facebook he'll eat a jar of pickles and mustard!

  • I am bringing the most ghettoest blaack guy from downtown to show these kids some break dancing moves.

  • But wheres Jose the jalapeno on a stick???? ANYONE SEE HIM??? xD

  • waaaa, the hip hop scene in japan has some unique aspects that other countries do not have.

its great to see hip hop though. it would be nice to see hilty and bosch if you ever run into them (just by the slightest off chance.) Their quite talented for their locking or crumping acts.

  • "traditional dancing on your head" - x.x

i love your sense of humor.

  • Japanese wasabi with coca-cola - LOL! Good one! So true! Every time I go to a Japanese festival, I always feel like it is culture in fast forward. Japanese culture almost is evolving before your eyes. The pull of the west is strong but the roots of old are for the time being stronger. It is an odd place at times.

  • The girls looked older on the thumbnail >.>"

  • Great video like always! Its interesting to see how they blend new with old. You can't expect things to stay the same and never change. It may not be what some people would consider progress but change will happen.

  • Speaking of weird festivals, I heard there was a festival somewhere in Japan that is held for fertility? I'm not sure if it was just a rumor or something, but have you ever heard of it before?

  • can you make a videos where there are hot good looking japanese guys ?

    pleeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssseeeeeee

  • I'm missing the interview videos :C

  • At the Iowa State Fair we don't have cucumber on a stick... we have fried butter on a stick... I kid you not.

  • @TheAle89515 I heard about that on the news lol

  • @shavaughn1980 Yeah Iowa's been in the US news a lot lately because of all the crazy politicians running around the state this time of year. Even my hometown got mentioned a lot when normally nobody gives a crap about it. Sort of surreal for me, really.

  • But what about the pottery? I'd like to see something on tea culture, and the pottery that goes with that.

  • What's the name of that PENIS festival in Japan? And what is that about??

  • @1godlessmonkey

I searched internet and it says To wish a wealthy year and the peace of the world, and breeding of all things of this world.

The festival's name is Tagata Jinja Hounen Matsuri (hounen means wealthy year/matsuri means festival)

Men of climacteric year carry the "phallus" and dedicate it to the shrine.

I don't know why this kind of festival was born, but it is a kind of ritual. It's mysterious even for me Japanese. lol

  • @1godlessmonkey hahaha Its called Kanamara festival (かなまら祭り). you can find videos on youtube.

  • I want to see the ceramics!

  • I wouldn't call that modern dancing. The guy's were Break Dancing. That was early 80's here in the US.

  • @Nighthawk368 lol and it is still goin on....same thing but comes up with different names and slight variations on it constantly.

  • Were there any carnival rides at that festival?

  • So many things available on a stick, but no signs of any Jalapenos (see Jeff Dunham if you don't get the reference.)

Yes, our world is truly shrinking. Japan is adopting many things from around the world, but then again, a great deal of the world is adopting many things from the Japanese culture, so it's all good, IMHO....

  • what was the guy at around 2:10 trying to say?

  • Go to Kyoto for old Japan.

  • Sooo - you didn't like it? ;-p

  • You sound so sad. The old japan is there you just need to look

  • I'm hungry now !!!! >.<

  • I agree , it's a shame. But ateast they wernt rapping about robbing stores and bein whores.

  • You should flavor every video :D

  • I would totally spend all day trying to win posters... and the pinapple... yeah looks pretty dang reasonable to me.

  • Just missed the pottery stuff here. Was there no interesting pottery from Japan?

  • What's with the mirrored adidas T-shirt? Was that scene mirrored or just the shirt?

  • I am so hungry right now..

  • Nobody integrates the traditional and modern like the Japanese.

  • Street dancing is something from the late 80's early 90's. It's not really modern in my opinion. It pre-dated "hakken" (look it up on wikipedia) on house which came after this. At least here. After that it became a fashion to just walk around with your pants on your knees and rap dirty/offensive words. And here it's finally getting more normal again. I'm also old fashioned (even though i'm 25), so I kinda like the more normal behaviour. lol

  • Have you been to Fertility Festival - Honen Matsuri in Nagoya ?

  • About the posters i think it is a cultural thing, maybe even with that kind of poses they might see them as idol in a cute position (more cute than sexy) rather than sexy posing young girls. it's different thinking and costumes. Even if the way they think is perverted (i don't know and every person is different) as you said before Japanese are friendly and even if they think bad things they probably won't do anything bad. If it is like that in general i think it is ok.

  • they love food on the stick hahah

  • japan has the weirdest festivals ever.....

  • the guy in kamen rider w danced way better "CHIZIRU!!!!!"

  • Weird Festival??... more like....... All Purpose Festival! www

  • Id say the breakdancing has very much to do with Japan,

In the west, Japan is famous for their breakdancing titles.

    LOVE your videos!

  • hahaha I like your analogy: american rap music being played on a japanese flute. LOLLL

  • It kinda looks like one of them food festivals held here in Los Angeles by the Mexican people..... except this looks healthy.

  • @Arceumon ahah I thought of exactly the same thing.

  • @Arceumon mexican also eat cucumbers on a stick …. but yeah our food is not as healthy lol

  • @Arceumon

U.S. hate mongers talking about healthy food.

Americans won't recognize healthy meals in a thousand years.

Now, keep talking about mexicans you racist bitch.

  • @mgessler For some reason this made me laugh. But here's a shocker..... I'm Mexican myself bro. ¿Cómo puedo ser racista si soy mexicano

I love stereotypes because I like seeing reactions like these. People allow simplistic words or stereotypes define them. However I am a US Citizen........ I ain't a hate monger.

  • @Arceumon i didnt find ur comment racist at all....hmmm

  • @hellopixies Gracias. I am Mexican after all. it takes one to say something like this. lol

  • @Arceumon LOOOOOOOL

  • @Arceumon seriously, those darned Mexicans.

  • @Arceumon Well, the most dangerous part of the Mexican festivals in LA is the drive-by shootings and jumpings.

  • @Arceumon If you're not careful with what you eat in those Mexican food festivals, you could get in a world of pain in the stomach with a complementary fiery heartburn. oh and watch out for those burritos lol ;).

  • @TheGarcia350 Haha. So true.

  • no wounder why japan isnt fat and lets hope that those young boys like the teenage pinup girls their is nothin rong with that

  • Fish Balls + Sauce > Octopus Balls

  • U seem so enthusiastic about this video. -_-

  • im a teenager and i have pictures up in my room. nothing wrong with that. dont see how every time you see this its like.. unbelievable. you should be pretty used to it by now.

  • this was.......interesting. I never saw a stand before where you can win posters like that.....nice video!

  • Was that a cucumber on a stick? Or José Jalapeño?

  • @BraveSirBevier Because Jose has the STICK XD

  • Every pot festival needs breakdancing and sparklemotion dancing.

  • Guy failed at head spinning! and yes all the traditional festivals incule break dancing.

  • LOL "...the traditional Japanese dancing on your head dancing" ..also known as "Break Dancing"!!! (;P)

  • I like the atmosphere there. It look like a nice place to hang out.

  • theres a penis festival right? iisnt that stranger?

  • @sajonaee i prefer the vagina festival.. lol :D

  • loool.. thank you!

  • man i wish we had alot of food stands here where i live, the closes thing to that is a flea market but in those they dont sell that much food... And carnivals only give you boring food like hotdogs and corndogs...

  • traditional? break dancing was from NYC

  • Sigh, not a stupid even without that crappy lesbo brainawsh AKB, huh? D:

How was the smell aroun there? Rain+freshly made food must've been nice ><

  • Traditional dancing on your head dancing? That made me laugh :) I do the "Dance on your head" in America LOL

  • AKB! 8D

  • What don't they put on a stick?

  • Those people who sell food, do they have a resturant or how do they make money when there is no festival.. ? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video, but my computer sound is weird.

  • Implying corn is natural.

  • @adobo777

ahahah not very many people will get that... But I do!

  • @adobo777 I bet you wanted to add an arrow too :P

  • Hahahah oh my lord, the way you just explained an old lady hocking teenage girls in underwear posters to young boys. WOW, just wow.

  • Lol that's gross, why would you want to eat a plain cucumber....

  • @sweetfeat1 It's yummy. Plus you can dip those into those strangely coloured things, me thinks. :P

  • woahwoahwoah, squid on as stick you say?....WHY AM I NOT THERE D8 ?!

  • Ur voice are so sad and bored when you speak about "modern stuff". Like a samurai who spend 50 years on war... and now hate "new dumb shit" what he see in his village.)

  • Why am I under the impression that you hold back from bursting into a hysterical laugh? =)

  • Why is the adidas logo on that guys t-shirt at the end flipped??

  • @LJonesy2 when it's on a stick, cover it with a layer of mayonnaise. Parmesan cheese and hot sauce.

  • the traditional japanese on there head dancing? no such thing lol
