@ChampionRevilo Although Golbez does care for him, he knows that Cecil, as he always has, has doupts in his heart about the darkness that he carries and knows that if Cecil continues to carry those doupts, he will never find the Crystal and complete his quest. So he forced Cecil into a situation that forced him to strengthen his resolve and find an answer. So Cecil resolved that both the Darkness and Light in him are his strength, and he found his Crystal after facing his brother in battle

Golbez (Theodore in the part of his life i am referring to) was at least ten years older than Cecil when he was born. Their mother died giving birth to Cecil so Theodore blamed him for her death. Zemus took control of his hate and christened him Golbez. Thats how he became evil at least. In Dissidia he is a little less evil though, and free of Zemus's influence.Big plot hole without Zemus in the picture

Cecil has the best line in this game "I can turn darkness... into hallowed light!" I swoon everytime he says that. Even his victory pose is sexy, Dark Knight and Paladin. Of course it took me forever to beat the Sephiroth manikin in his story mode.

I wonder, though... Jecht was previously a Warrior of Cosmos before becoming a Warrior of Chaos, much like how he was once a savior of Spira before becoming Sin (against his will). Would that also be true for Sephiroth, who was also once a hero and became a villain? When he took his own life before Mateus, was he a Warrior of Cosmos at that time?

True, but my question was if Sephiroth was once a Warrior of Cosmos before becoming a Warrior of Cosmos. I never said if it was against his will or not. I was simply drawing parallels between Sephiroth and Jecht: how they were both heroes before becoming villains. Sephiroth was... well, I'm not sure if you can really call it 'willing' due to the fact that he was driven to insanity by his best friend and the notes of the scientist he looked up to.
