I have one that is in mint condition... also bought it on e-Bay. Need to get it fixed though. Hopefully get it repaired soon and post a video of it here. Yes.... these are very rare.

Somehow I never saw this video of yours. Thats one of my most favorite radios, I've been looking on ebay to find the transistorized model like yours for years. They are virtually impossible to find! You are very fortunate to have one of these and in such nice shape too. Enjoy!

A friend of mine has one of these .Recently it just stopped working .tubes don't even light up. Where could he find someone to do a repair ,or does anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks

@ekpil Well, there aren't any tubes in this model--all transistor. Are you sure it's this exact model, because they did make a couple of tube versions before this one was introduced.

If it IS this model, it's a simple thing to repair--replace all the electrolytic capacitors, and chances are it'll be right as rain.

@batterymaker Turns out it's a tube model 7-bx-10.These are the numbers I was given .Someone mentioned that these radios were wired in such a way that if one tube goes then the others don't work . Any info is much appreciated.

I was thinkin gthat the mason's string would be great for restringing a radio, it can be found in the concrete dept of Lowe's or HD. You get a huge roll of that stuff for real cheap, but it is like strong hylon or something. I used to use kite string too for the few times I did a string repair on a radio.
