I remember seeing the Beatles on their Ed Sullivan debut in 1964. This was the second song they played, and I believe this standard show tune from the "Music Man" met with parents' approval, impressing to them that the Beatles were talented, and ok for their kids, even though their hair was shocking!

This song was written by a guy called Meredith Wilson specifically for the musical "The music man" but this song was so significant for the Beatles,much more than people realise, as it was the song that caught the ear of George Martin when he first heard there demo! it stood out and seperated the beatles from a lot of other groups of that time who did'nt get signed up. so without this song in there repertoire the beatles may never have been given that chance....imagine that!!!
